Dusk completely sank into the mountains, and the main villa of Yunqi Villa was lit with warm yellow floor lamps, outlining a quiet outline along the winding stone road.
When Qin Yuzheng returned to the terrace after handling the so-called "inspection by the Cultural and Tourism Bureau", he saw Qin Yuheng leaning on the railing, playing with an unfamiliar mobile phone in his hand.
The last golden rays of the setting sun cast a warm edge on the ends of his hair, and his profile was as handsome as a carefully carved sculpture.
"Why are you here?"
Qin Yuheng turned around, a pure smile instantly spreading across his face. Like a large dog waiting for its owner to return, he naturally handed over the phone in his hand: "Brother, look, this is Ruan Weiwei's 'gift'."
On the phone screen was Ruan Weiwei’s terrified and distorted face, with the terrace railings and distant mountains as the background.
The photo was so close that even the tears on her eyelashes and her pupils dilated with fear were clearly visible.
Qin Yuzheng's gaze stayed on the photo for two seconds, without any emotion, as if he was looking at an insignificant report.
"Wang Zhenhai's people?" he asked in a flat tone, his fingertips unconsciously sliding across the buttons of his suit cuffs. It was a micro-movement that only the two brothers understood, confirming the information.
"Yeah," Qin Yuheng nodded, his fingertips swiping across the screen, pulling up a recording, "She told it all. Wang Zhenhai wanted her to find evidence of our 'infidelity' and planned to use public opinion to bring down the Qin family.
He pressed the play button, and Ruan Weiwei's tearful plea for mercy and Wang Zhenhai's sinister instructions came out of the receiver.
"What a pity, this stupid bird crashed into our cage."
Qin Yuheng's voice carried a hint of childish cruelty and amusement, but his eyes were gleaming with coldness.
He put his phone back into his pocket, as if he was disposing of a piece of trash. "Brother, Wang Zhenhai has been having a blast in that area south of the city lately. He's disturbing our interests."
The South City Project is the core of Qin's strategic layout this year. Anyone who gets involved must pay the price.
Qin Yuzheng leaned on the railing, looking at the lights gradually lighting up at the foot of the mountain, his eyes as deep as the night: "Dingfeng's capital chain is very tight recently."
This is not a question, but a statement.
Qin's risk control department had already obtained all the evidence through multiple channels that Dingfeng Capital secretly misappropriated funds to fill the holes of high-risk investments, and was just waiting for the best opportunity to close the net.
"That's why he's in such a hurry to stir up trouble, hoping to make some quick money." Qin Yuheng took over the conversation, his fingers unconsciously stroking the wood grain on the railing.
"Using Ruan Weiwei as a gun, they thought they could disrupt our rhythm."
He chuckled, and his laughter was filled with the arrogance of knowing everything.
"What a pity! He doesn't know that Ruan Weiwei, this chess piece, has been in our grasp since the moment she fell into the water."
Qin Yuzheng didn't respond, but picked up the cup of freshly brewed hot cocoa that Qin Yuheng had placed on the low table - it was the perfect temperature and moderately sweet, his preferred taste.
He took a sip and looked out at the garden behind the villa.
There, the security personnel were "politely" "asking" the limp Ruan Weiwei to leave. Their movements were as standardized as if they were following a standard procedure, without any delay. This was the absolute efficiency of the Qin's security system.
"Brother," Qin Yuheng suddenly moved closer, his nose almost touching the side of Qin Yuzheng's neck, his voice lowered with a hint of barely perceptible excitement.
"Wang Zhenhai might make some moves tonight. He thinks we're stuck with Ruan Weiwei and our guard will be down."
Qin Yuzheng paused, gripping the cup, and turned his head to look at him. Qin Yuheng's eyes shone startlingly bright in the night, like a beast lurking in the shadows, scenting its prey.
"What do you want to do?" Qin Yuzheng's voice remained steady, but with a kind of indulgent acquiescence.
Qin Yuheng's mouth curled up dangerously: "Since he wants to play, then we will play bigger with him."
He raised his hand and gently brushed Qin Yuzheng's ear with his fingertips, his movements were intimate and natural.
This is a habit they have developed since childhood, which can convey trust without words.
"Release Ruan Weiwei and have her deliver a 'message' to Wang Zhenhai. Just say... we brothers are 'alone' at the villa tonight, and tell him to seize the opportunity."
Qin Yuzheng looked at the gleam in his eyes, was silent for a moment, and finally nodded slightly.
Yunqi Villa was immersed in ink at midnight, with only a hint of warm light leaking out from the floor-to-ceiling windows on the second floor of the main villa, outlining the outline of the terrace railing in amber.
The wind brought the bitter scent of pine needles as it passed through the forest, but it was crushed by the heavier, murderous aura of the hunters - three black shadows clung to the blue-gray stone wall of the villa's backyard like a thorn in their flesh.
The leader, Brother Tiger, was scanning the wall with a tactical flashlight. The beam of light jumped between the moss-covered bricks and finally stopped on the half-human-high carved iron railing.
"Brother Hu, is what that woman said true? Are the two Qin brothers really in there?" A thin man next to him lowered his voice with a hint of nervousness in his tone.
He had a folding knife on his waist, but his palms were already sweating - facing a behemoth like the Qin family, any unusual movement could be a disaster.
"Nonsense!" Brother Hu spat. "That bitch Ruan Weiwei was crying and begging Mr. Wang to save her. How could it be true? She said that pervert Qin Yuheng was pestering Qin Yuzheng, and all the security had been transferred to the periphery, leaving the inside empty."
He licked his lips, greed flashing in his eyes. "Boss Wang said that if we can capture the evidence, not only will we be able to bring down the Qin family, but we'll also own a share of the villa!"
Under Wang Zhenhai's promise, the temptation of money overwhelmed the fear of Qin.
Before he could finish his words, the side door with frosted glass in the backyard suddenly made a light click.
However, the person who walked out of the door made his pupils shrink suddenly - Qin Yuheng was wearing a moon-white silk nightgown, his black hair was wet and hung in front of his forehead, with water droplets hanging on the ends of his hair, reflecting tiny silver rays in the light of the wall lamp in the corridor.
