Chapter 412: Eternal Ice Mark in Midsummer

The scorching sun was like molten platinum, mercilessly burning the earth.

The cicadas' chirping sounds grew louder and louder, carrying with them the unique noise and heat of the city, evaporating in the afternoon air.

Qinglan Bridge, the stone arch bridge connecting the old city and the Riverside Park, is now deserted with pedestrians. The bridge deck is scorching hot, and even the river water flowing slowly under the bridge is shining with a dazzling white light and steaming with mist.

Ning Xiwan, Duan Shuce, Bai Zhiye and Hua Jinyue had just come out of Riverside Park and were preparing to cross Qinglan Bridge to go to the famous cold drink shop in the old city to cool off.

Ning Xiwan held up a parasol, but still couldn't block the scorching heat. Beads of sweat covered her forehead and nose.

Duan Shuce walked outside her, with the sleeves of his ironed shirt rolled up to his elbows, revealing his sleek arms. The rimless glasses on his nose reflected the glaring sunlight, making his eyes unclear.

Bai Zhiye walked quietly on the other side of Duan Shuce, holding a few books she had just borrowed from the library.

Her black ponytail swayed gently with her steps, her fair cheeks were slightly flushed by the sun, her expression was as calm as always, her eyes were fixed on the road ahead that was distorted by the heat.

Hua Jinyue was like a wilted bird, carrying her huge schoolbag full of plush pendants, and tugging at Ning Xiwan's arm with a droopy head.

She complained softly, "It's so hot, Sister Xiwan... Smoothie, I want a super large mango smoothie..."

Just as they were about to reach the highest point of the bridge, a tall and straight figure appeared at the other end of the bridge, climbing the stairs against the glaring sunlight and walking towards them.

The sunlight outlined a dazzling silhouette behind him, as if he had been coated with a layer of flowing gold.

As he stepped onto the top of the bridge step by step, the details that were blurred by the light were clearly revealed before the four people like treasures that had been removed from their veils.

He was wearing the iconic dark blue summer uniform of the Municipal No. 1 Middle School.

Unlike the casual attire of ordinary students, the well-tailored school uniform neatly wrapped around his thin but not frail figure, outlining the graceful lines unique to teenagers, between youthfulness and uprightness.

The dark blue background made his skin exposed outside his short-sleeved shirt look so cold and white that it was almost transparent, and it seemed to emit a faint glow under the strong sunlight.

The black short hair is refreshing and neat, the hair quality looks excellent, and it has a healthy luster under direct sunlight.

A few strands of slightly longer hair were slightly wet with sweat, sticking to the smooth and full forehead. Instead of looking messy, it added a bit of casual youthfulness.

But this youthful look was completely reversed by the pair of exquisite silver-rimmed glasses on his face.

The frame of the glasses was extremely slender, and the silver metal shone with a cold luster in the sunlight, like the most sophisticated instrument parts.

The lenses were clear and transparent, perfectly resting on his tall, straight nose. Behind them lay a pair of unforgettable gray-blue eyes.

It was an extremely rare color, like the deep ice lake in Siberia in winter, reflecting the glimmer of the leaden sky.

Clear, cold, deep, without a trace of ripples.

Even the sunlight could not penetrate the frozen lake surface, and could only reflect a cold, inorganic luster on its surface.

His eyes looked straight ahead calmly, without any focus, as if penetrating the people and objects in front of him and landing on some distant dimension that only he could observe.

His jawline was clear and hard, and his thin lips were naturally pursed without a trace of curve, revealing an indifference that kept people at a distance.

Sweat slid down his perfect jawline and dripped onto the collar of his equally dark blue school uniform, staining a small area with dark color, but it did not diminish the cold and lonely aura surrounding him in the slightest.

He carried a black leather backpack on one shoulder that looked of excellent quality and simple in design. His steps were steady and calm, and each step was accompanied by a precise rhythm, as if he had measured every inch of the stone slab on the bridge.

Just like that, he walked against the scorching sun, like a god-like boy walking out from the depths of the ice field, step by step to the top of the bridge.

Under the scorching light, the dark blue school uniform not only did not gain any warmth, but instead seemed to absorb all the heat, emitting an even more biting coldness.

Delicate silver-rimmed glasses, cold white skin, gray-blue icy eyes, and tightly pursed thin lips, all the details are impeccable, yet suffocatingly cold.

The youthfulness is completely covered by an unattainable arrogance that transcends his age. He is like a pine tree growing on the top of a cliff, enduring the baptism of wind and snow alone. He is a flower on the mountain top that cannot be melted by the scorching sun in midsummer.

Ning Xiwan's gaze was almost instantly captured by the figure. The strong sunlight made her squint slightly, but the moment she saw the face clearly, her heart felt like it was being gripped by an invisible hand!

A sharp, inexplicable pain suddenly pierced her chest! Her hand holding the umbrella shook violently, the umbrella tilted, and the dazzling sunlight instantly burned her eyes.

Duan Shuce's steps almost stopped at the same moment. The pupils behind the lenses shrank sharply in an instant!

The figure coming against the light, the dark blue school uniform, the cold light of the silver-rimmed glasses, the gray-blue eyes... these elements combined together, like an ice-cold key, fiercely stabbed into the forcibly blocked and bloody door of memory deep in his soul!

The Supervisor's power surged wildly within his body, trying to break through some invisible shackles, and a piercing phantom pain came from his ribs!

He seemed to see again the figure who stood up staggeringly from the ruins of the study, and the pair of eyes that only had the cold instructions to execute the agreement!

"...Qingliu!" A silent name got stuck in his throat, and the feeling of suffocation instantly gripped him.
