(In the office)
The central air conditioner emits a subtle hum, spreading cold air at a constant temperature of 23 degrees evenly throughout every inch of the space.
Outside the floor-to-ceiling windows, the city skyline looms in the twilight, and the glass curtain wall reflects the scene indoors.
Jin Chanyun sat in a large leather office chair, his bony fingers tapping the desk intermittently, the rhythm like the heartbeat of a hunter waiting for his prey.
"Master Jin, what do you want from me?"
Jiang Cheng lazily pushed open the office door, and the soles of his sneakers rubbed against the wool carpet imported from Italy, making a slight rustling sound.
He was wearing an oversized graffiti sweatshirt with the cuffs casually rolled up, revealing a piece of white wrist. The silver necklace hanging around his neck flickered with every step he took.
As soon as he came in, he sat down on the soft sofa in a very familiar manner, with his long legs crossed and his toes tapping to a rhythm that only he could hear, as if he didn't take Jin Chanyun seriously at all.
"Don't you know what you've done?" Jin Suyun raised his head, and his eyes behind the gold-rimmed glasses were like an ice-hardened blade, piercing Jiang Cheng accurately.
The tablet computer on the desk still displayed the consumption records. More than 20 credit card transactions from luxury stores flashed on the screen, and at the bottom was a huge bill from a private club.
"Haha... didn't I just swipe your card and use your identity?" Jiang Cheng reached out and scratched his fluffy hair, a nonchalant smile appearing at the corner of his mouth, as casually as if he was talking about today's weather.
He reached out and picked up a cherry from the fruit bowl on the coffee table. The bright red flesh burst with juice between his teeth, but he didn't even wipe it, letting the juice flow down the corners of his mouth.
"Oh... really?" Jin Chanyun said with a forced smile.
He stood up suddenly, the hem of his black couture suit stirring up a gust of wind. His handmade leather shoes made a steady "clacking" sound on the floor, and each step seemed to strike at Jiang Cheng's heart.
Jin Suyun pulled a pistol inlaid with mother-of-pearl from a drawer and pointed the cold muzzle at Jiang Cheng without hesitation. The chill of the metal and the scent of leather intertwined, solidifying in the air.
Jiang Cheng's pupils suddenly contracted, and a hint of imperceptible vigilance flashed in his eyes, but it was quickly covered up by an indifferent smile.
He straightened his back, his eyes revealing unquestionable determination and calm judgment hidden under the tense atmosphere.
"Why is it like you've eaten gunpowder and explode at the slightest touch?" Jiang Cheng teased with a smile on his face.
He slowly raised his hands in a gesture of surrender, but when he stood up, he deliberately knocked over the crystal paperweight on the table. A loud "clang" exploded in the silent office.
"Calm down, be careful not to get angry." As he said this, he held Jin Chanyun's arm holding the gun with one hand, and the warmth of his palm came through the shirt fabric.
Jiang Cheng was half a head shorter than Jin Suyun. At this moment, he raised his face, his eyelashes cast a small shadow under his eyes, and his eyes were filled with the cunning unique to young people.
"Master Jin..." He deliberately dragged out the last syllable, his voice sounding sickly sweet.
Jin Chanyun quickly pulled his hand back as if he was scalded, took half a step back to create some distance, and showed no disdain on his face.
He put the gun into the holster at his waist, turned around and sorted out the messy documents on the table, as if he was not the one pointing the gun at someone just now.
"Master Jin, what's wrong?" Jiang Cheng followed closely behind him, "Are you shy?" He reached out to grab Jin Suyun's tie, but the other party dodged sideways.
Jiang Cheng came closer to Jin Chanyun like a dog-skin plaster. The faint scent of cedar perfume on his body mixed with the sweetness of cherries lingered on Jin Chanyun's nose.
"Get away from me..." Jin Chanyun said in a bad tone, and once again put the gun in his hand against his head.
The cold touch of the metal made Jiang Cheng shrink slightly, but the smile on his lips grew instead of diminishing.
"Isn't it just swiping your card? Is it necessary for you to be like this?" He reached out and played with the pocket handkerchief on Jin Chanyun's chest, the silk material entwined around his fingertips.
"It's not... the card." Jin Chenyun's temples throbbed, remembering the anonymous call he received three days ago. The caller, using a voice changer, said Jiang Cheng was going to use his card to support an 18th-tier celebrity. This realization made him inexplicably furious.
"Is that my problem? Or is it that Lord Jin is jealous when he heard that I was going to use your card to support someone else?" Jiang Cheng suddenly leaned closer, and his warm breath brushed across Jin Suyun's earlobe.
"Jiang Cheng!!" Jin Suyun growled and suddenly pushed the man down on the desk.
The muzzle of the gun was pointed at his head, and Jin Chanyun's words were colder than ice in winter. "Jiang Cheng, if you say anything more, I'll cut off your tongue."
Jiang Cheng made a "tsk" sound, frowned, and continued to play tricks: "I said, who did you show your polite appearance to? You've been fooled again, right?"
He twisted his body to try to break free, but Jin Chanyun pressed him even tighter. "Now your true nature is exposed, isn't it?" He deliberately dragged out the last syllable of his words, with a strong sense of provocation.
"Master Jin~" His breath was as sweet as orchid, and the tip of his tongue almost touched Jin Chanyun's neck.
"Don't disgust me..." Jin Suyun said with gritted teeth, but did not stand up immediately.
The two maintained an ambiguous and dangerous posture, their breaths intertwined.
The office phone suddenly rang, and Jin Chanyun seemed to come back to his senses. He stood up abruptly and straightened his clothes.
Jiang Cheng was lying on the table with messy hair, but a smile of victory hung on his lips.
"Mr. Jin, can you give me some more money now that I have no more?" He asked while propping up his upper body and swinging his legs.
