Extra: Rules under the Five Gods

Ye Qingliu's gray-blue eyes were crystal clear in the morning light, reflecting Sun Guixiang's wrinkled smiling face.

The confusion and bewilderment after waking up are like a thin mist that has not yet completely dissipated.

The two unconscious rubbings of his palms and the nasal hum seemed to have drained away the little strength he had left when he just woke up.

At this moment, he just quietly let Sun Guixiang hold his face with a hint of imperceptible gentleness.

His long eyelashes were like butterfly wings perched on flower petals, occasionally trembling slightly. There was still a hint of childlike innocence in his eyes and... a strange sense of relaxation after being fully accepted.

Sun Guixiang's heart softened. She carefully released her hand that was holding his cheek, but her loving eyes never left him for a second.

"Are you hungry, kid?" Her voice was very soft, with a strong rural accent and complete certainty, as if she was sure that he would be hungry when he woke up.

Ye Qingliu did not answer.

He seemed to still be immersed in the confusion of just waking up and the warm feeling brought by Sun Guixiang. His gray-blue eyes were looking at a certain point in the void with a little unfocus, and his head was slightly tilted, like a cat that had not fully come back to its senses after taking a nap in the sun.

Sun Guixiang took this silence as a tacit agreement.

She sprang into action immediately, her hunched body bursting with a dexterity that was unbelievable for her age.

She stood up with the help of a bamboo stool and walked to the small coal stove in the corner - on which sat an old aluminum pot.

Tiny steam was bubbling from the edge of the pot lid, and a rich, warm aroma with the fragrance of rice and some medicinal herbs filled the air.

She lifted the lid of the pot, and white steam instantly rose up, blurring her old face which was filled with joy.

She used a long-handled wooden spoon to stir the thick and soft white porridge in the pot, which was filled with almost melted rice grains, finely chopped chicken shreds, a few plump wolfberries and a few yellow codonopsis slices.

"Grandma has been cooking this all morning, it smells so good!" Sun Guixiang kept stirring and muttering, her voice filled with pride as if she was presenting a treasure.

"It contains Codonopsis pilosula, which replenishes your energy! You are weak, so you need to replenish your energy!"

She scooped up a little with a spoon, brought it to her lips, and blew on it very carefully.

"It's not hot anymore, just right!"

She filled a small bowl with porridge, carefully brought it to the old square table, and placed it in front of Ye Qingliu.

Sun Guixiang did not push the bowl to him, nor did she hand him a spoon.

She sat back on the creaking bamboo stool, but moved her body closer to Ye Qingliu.

Then, she made an extremely natural yet intimate gesture——

She stretched out her skinny but strong arms, and naturally and with an irresistible tenderness, gently wrapped them around Ye Qingliu's still somewhat thin waist.

Ye Qingliu's body stiffened slightly due to her sudden hug.

His gray-blue eyes focused instantly, and with a hint of disturbed confusion and instinctive vigilance, he subconsciously looked at Sun Guixiang.

The strength of her arm was not strong, but it had a strange sense of stability, like a warm, invisible cushion, gently supporting his slightly leaning back.

This feeling... is strange, yet strangely not repulsive.

"Come, little boy, sit down and let grandma feed you." Sun Guixiang's voice had a soothing magic, and her other hand had already picked up the old porcelain spoon with a slightly worn edge in the bowl.

She scooped up a small spoonful of steaming, soft, glutinous and fragrant shredded chicken porridge and blew on it very carefully until she was sure that the white mist became faint. Then she carefully and steadily handed it to Ye Qingliu's lips.

"Ah——" She uttered a syllable very naturally to coax a child to eat, her cloudy eyes full of anticipation, as if she was waiting for an extremely important ceremony.

Ye Qingliu was completely stunned.

Her gray-blue eyes widened slightly, and deep in her pupils she clearly reflected the spoonful of porridge being handed to her mouth, as well as Sun Guixiang's wrinkled face filled with pure expectation and tenderness.

The edge of the spoon was only a few centimeters away from his lips, and the warm aroma of rice mixed with the fragrance of medicinal herbs penetrated into his nostrils.

He should refuse.

This kind of close contact without any sense of distance, almost like feeding, seriously violated all his behavioral codes and cognitive boundaries.

He is an observer, the embodiment of rules, a pine tree that stands alone in the world, not a child who needs to be held in someone's arms and fed spoonful by spoonful...

The alarm of reason sounded sharply in the cold core of consciousness.

However……

All the alarms seemed to be muted under the gaze of those cloudy but sunny eyes.

More importantly, his body at this moment seemed to still retain the confusion of just waking up and the strange feeling of relaxation after being wrapped in warmth.

The brain's command transmission becomes extremely slow and sticky.

In this brief moment of tug-of-war between reason and instinct—

His body reacted before his mind did.

Those beautifully shaped, always tightly pursed thin lips, guided by Sun Guixiang's expectant gaze and that cry of "Ah——".

Very slightly, with a hint of hesitation and... obedience that he himself was not even aware of, it opened slightly.

A very small gap.

Sun Guixiang's cloudy eyes suddenly lit up surprisingly! As if she had received the highest reward, she immediately and carefully put the spoonful of warm porridge into his slightly open lips.

The warm, soft and glutinous porridge with a rich rice aroma and a light medicinal fragrance instantly spreads in the mouth.

The taste buds are awakened by the most original and warm taste of food.
