Chapter 66 Lisianthus
Springtime in Hongdu is characterized by incessant rain; after only a day and a half of sunshine, the drizzle has resumed.
As Lu Xiwen emerged from the club, he instructed Lan Zhe: "Have someone keep a close eye on them. If they act recklessly, give them a warning. If they're really looking for trouble, then follow the proper procedures."
Lan Zhe: "Okay."
As darkness fell, lights began to illuminate the buildings across the street. The chilling aura that had been piercing Lu Xiwen's eyes suddenly softened, and his sharp facial features became gentle, as if he had thought of something.
Lan Zhe: "Shall we go buy some dessert?"
Pei Wu mentioned it before leaving.
Actually, that sound was very low, as if Pei Wu, after recovering slightly, finally had the energy to test their relationship. Lu Xiwen wished he could move a dessert shop there. Lan Zhe has already gone back, and it's just the two of them in the ward.
"Has the medication been changed?" Lu Xiwen asked.
Pei Wu stared at him without saying a word.
Lu Xiwen felt a sudden tightness in his skin.
He placed the cake and egg tarts on the bedside table next to Pei Wu, his mind replaying Guan Yan's words: "Newly differentiated Omegas are very emotionally unstable. They might get angry if the placement of a water glass doesn't suit their taste." "Someone like you who can't read the room should probably put in more effort."
Lu Xiwen listened to the advice and released his pheromones.
The crisp air eased the tension between Pei Wu's brows. Lu Xi, sensing an opportunity, seized the moment and sat down on the edge of the bed, moving closer to Pei Wu: "You think I came back late? I had some business at the company, so I took care of it on the way."
Pei Wu remained silent, while Lu Xiwen continued, "Are you bored? If not, have Guan Yan come over tomorrow, but he won't say anything good about me. You can choose which ones to hear."
"One fresh milk tart and one chocolate tart, would you like to try them?" Lu Xiwen asked.
With a slight widening of his round eyes, the heavy aura of a top-tier Alpha emanating from him would be reduced by more than half.
Pei Wu said softly, "Fresh milk flavor."
Lu Xiwen suddenly felt a heat in his lower abdomen.
Pei Wu finished her meal slowly before asking Lu Xiwen, "Did the doctor say when I can be discharged?"
"Let's stay a few more days," Lu Xiwen said. "The house isn't ready yet."
Pei Wu was surprised: "What are you packing?"
There was a lot to pack. Guan Yan was considered a fairly powerful Omega, but when Lu Xi asked him what he needed to prepare, he talked for half an hour.
"You'll know when you get back," Lu Xiwen said vaguely.
Pei Wu: "I have a rented house."
He has been thinking about this issue.
Pei Wu wasn't being dramatic. He could sense Lu Xiwen's remorse and knew that the Alpha wanted to treat him a thousand times better. After being discharged from the hospital, he would need to adjust to his new lifestyle. Pei Wu needed to figure out whether his physical strength, energy, and stamina had declined or remained at their original levels.
Lu Xiwen's smile faded, and he took a shallow breath: "Can't you just cancel your lease on that house?"
Pei Wu: "No..."
"You don't want to live with me?" Lu Xiwen said, his expression turning dejected. "In the end, you still don't want to forgive me."
Pei Wu: "Wait for me to try..."
Lu Xiwen suddenly walked to the window and opened it; this was the seventh floor.
Before Pei Wu could figure it out, Lu Xiwen asked bluntly, "Do you agree to come back with me?"
Pei Wu: "..."
This height is nothing to the top, but to Lu Xiwen, this move is really childish.
Pei Wuqi laughed and grabbed a pillow from the bedside table, throwing it at him.
Lu Xiwen flashed a smile, caught the pillow, closed the window, walked back and gently hugged Pei Wu: "I understand that there is a difference in rhythm between Beta and Omega, but I am definitely not a distraction or a variable. I don't feel at ease leaving you alone."

Pei Wu pushed him away and took the velvet cake.
He ate bite by bite, not telling Lu Xiwen that he had been unhappy ten minutes earlier and that he couldn't suppress the emotion. Lu Xiwen had said before he left that it would be at most an hour, but he didn't return for two hours. Because of the injury to his glands, the pheromones left by the Alpha were being consumed quickly. After the barrier thinned, he was like a fledgling bird that had fallen from a branch at dusk, watching helplessly as darkness descended, unable to control his panic.
Guan Yan comforted him, saying that everything was normal and he would recover, but the many changes made Pei Wu uneasy.
In the afternoon, he was pushed out by the nurse to sunbathe. He could smell all kinds of scattered pheromones through the air and even distinguish his owner's emotions. It was as if his Ren and Du meridians had been suddenly opened. The sudden clarity of the world forced him to end the session early. He immediately sprayed a layer of barrier spray when he got back.
The nurse pushed the door open and came in just as Pei Wu finished eating her cake.
The nurse peeked over and sighed, "You should eat less sweets."
“The doctor said it’s nothing to worry about occasionally,” Lu Xiwen continued. “I bought it; I wanted to cheer him up.”
The nurse fell silent upon hearing this.
She remembered that the patient was in very bad condition when she was brought in. Without pheromones to soothe her, the glands would most likely need to be removed. But recently, her recovery has been amazing, which is directly related to the Alpha in front of her.
The nurse unwrapped the gauze from Pei Wu's neck, while Lu Xiwen stood to the side, his hands clenching tightly at his sides.
He precisely controlled the pheromones covering Pei Wu's glands, which effectively alleviated the pain. The cut that ran across the glands was no longer so horrifying, but it was still clearly visible.
The doctor repeatedly assured Lu Xiwen that the scars could be removed once Pei Wu recovered, but seeing them now still caused him unbearable heartache.
Pei Wu suddenly grasped Lu Xiwen's hand, "I want to drink water."
Lu Xiwen didn't leave: "I'll go get it after I've finished bandaging it."
Pei Wu tilted his head slightly to make it easier for the nurse to operate. "What have I done to deserve this?" Lu Xi thought to himself.
The nurse smiled and glanced at them. "You're all changed. Don't get it wet. Keep your emotions stable. And about pheromones, you should all know that."
After seeing the nurse off, Lu Xiwen turned off the lights, leaving only one on the bedside table.
Pei Wu had been going to bed early lately, but before that, Lu Xiwen hugged him from behind, as if embracing the cool moonlight. His lips gently caressed Pei Wu through the gauze, and the pheromones made Pei Wu feel so comfortable that he was drowsy. Suddenly, he heard Lu Xiwen say in a deep voice, "It smells like lisianthus."
