Chapter 24 Pei Zhu is indeed young
Lu Xiwen probably felt that a bag of fruit gummies had successfully "captured" Pei Wu, and immediately immersed himself in a sense of smugness, thinking that he was an understanding and good boss.
President Lu was usually arrogant, so it was rare for him to be so considerate. Regardless of whether Pei Wu was moved or not, he was moved on Pei Wu's behalf first.

Lu Xiwen immediately stopped and glanced sideways. The light shone on his face, casting a hazy shadow, making his high, straight nose look particularly handsome.
Pei Zhu's alarm bells went off. He remembered that President Lu hated it when people disagreed with his decisions. That expensive bag of fruit gummies was still lying right under his nose. Although Pei Wu hadn't asked for it, Lu Xiwen was sure he would hold him responsible. Pei Wu corrected him, "It can be done."
However, Lu Xiwen had a strange obsession with Pei Wu's sweet and sour fish and worried that it would really affect the taste, so he still threw in a black carp in the end.
Pei Wu looked at the basket full of fish and sighed softly.
After that, Pei Wu didn't say anything when Lu Xiwen threw something into the shopping basket. He was busy searching for recipes to make seafood taste better.
The supermarket carts can be pushed all the way to the first-floor entrance, which saves some effort.
As soon as Lu Xiwen left the supermarket, he put on sunglasses. Covering his eyes did indeed seal away half of his good looks, but his superior physique made him undeniably handsome. Pei Wu followed behind, pushing the cart. When they passed a men's clothing store, Lu Xiwen suddenly stopped.
Pei Wu glanced at the logo; it was a mainstream, top-tier brand, which he quite liked. But the problem was, this brand probably wouldn't fit into Lu Xiwen's wardrobe.
"Mr. Lu, do you want to buy it?" Pei Wu asked tentatively. "Why don't you just make a phone call and have the brand send it over?"
Lu Xiwen turned around. "It wasn't me, it was you."
Pei Wu was taken aback: "I don't need it."
Lu Xiwen: "I think you need it."
Once Pei Wu took off his coat, the clothes underneath were quite thin. Lu Xiwen had been struggling with this since he woke up in the morning. Just as Pei Wu had thought, making a phone call would be easy, but Pei Wu might not accept those luxury brands. This man loves money, but he earns it honestly, which Lu Xiwen respected. Of course, Lu Xiwen could lend Pei Wu one or two of his own clothes, but... that wouldn't be appropriate.
If it were Kuang Junmeng or Cao Guan, it wouldn't matter, but Pei Wu just wouldn't do.
Lu Xiwen didn't bother to think about why it wouldn't work, and simply pushed Pei Wu inside, saying, "The red envelope can be exchanged for cash."

"Swipe card." Lu Xiwen turned and walked towards the cashier, and the sales assistant quickly followed.
As Lu Xiwen emerged from the men's clothing store, he frowned slightly.
"What's wrong now?" Pei Wu wondered. Just as she pressed the shopping cart button, a young girl came running up to her, blushing, and asked in a low voice, "Could...could we exchange contact information?"
Pei Wu could clearly feel that the air pressure had dropped beside Lu Xiwen.
"Sorry, it's not convenient," Pei Wu said.
The young girl looked disappointed, then noticed Lu Xiwen's frosty expression, which even sunglasses couldn't hide. She immediately understood what was going on, first stunned, then chuckled, "Sorry to bother you, 99."
Pei Wu: "...Huh?"
After the young girl left, Pei Wu silently pushed the cart. He didn't cover his face, and his elite attire truly made him stand out from the crowd. There were many people on the first floor, and many eyes fell on Pei Wu as people came and went. There were even two male college students who were itching to make a move, but before they could act, Lu Xiwen took off his sunglasses and nipped them in the bud with a cold look.
"Hurry up." Lu Xiwen took the bag of clothes from Pei Wu's hand and pressed the shopping cart handle with one hand. Pei Wu immediately felt a sense of relief. He watched Lu Xiwen walk briskly, wishing he could leave the crowd behind.
Pei Wu quickly followed, putting all the items in the trunk, while Lu Xiwen went to the passenger seat.
Pei Wu drove consciously, turning the corner at the intersection in front of him, where the flow of people suddenly decreased.
Lu Xiwen couldn't hide his sarcastic tone as he said, "Assistant Pei is indeed young and irresistibly charming."
Pei Wu: "..."
"Mr. Lu, you're only three years older than me."
"snort."
While waiting at the traffic light, Pei Wu looked at Lu Xiwen, whose elbow was resting against the car window, his expression blank.
Furious.
Pei Wu's tone softened, "Besides sweet and sour fish, how about I steam some turbot for you tonight? I bought some bamboo shoots and mushrooms, so I can make a lamb stew. What about vegetables? Is there anything you'd like to eat? Stir-fried mixed vegetables? Or 'Three Treasures of the Earth'?"
Lu Xiwen: "You decide for yourself."
"Okay, okay." Pei Wu stepped on the gas, but before he could say anything more, a dark shadow darted past in front of the car. The other side was going too fast and it looked like they were about to collide. Pei Wu slammed on the brakes and lurched forward due to inertia. But before he could hit the steering wheel, a large hand blocked between his chest and neck, helping him to steady himself.
The hot thumb pressed right on Pei Wu's Adam's apple, and with a slight push the moment the car stopped, Pei Wu couldn't help but gasp for breath.
Lu Xiwen was completely unaffected. Seeing that Pei Wu was alright, he pushed open the car door and took a long stride without saying a word.
The dog that just darted past was a German Shepherd. It had recently returned to its owner's side. It was baring its teeth and looked quite fierce. The owner wasn't easy to get along with either; even though he wasn't using a leash, he was still cursing and swearing.
The idiots in this world...
Lu Xi was extremely annoyed by what he saw.
When Lu Xiwen stood in front of him, the dog owner had no choice but to look up at him. His chilling and imposing aura was so strong that the dog owner swallowed hard, and the German Shepherd tucked its tail in and stopped baring its teeth.
"If you can't walk it, I'll put this leash around your neck," Lu Xiwen said.
The dog owner then realized that the car that had almost hit his dog was a brand new McLaren. Of course, once the dog was hit, it was no longer his dog, so he immediately turned around and pretended not to know it.
"What should you say after causing trouble for others?" Lu Xi asked.
The dog owner's arrogance vanished completely: "I'm sorry."
Taking advantage of Lu Xiwen's lack of pursuit, the other party quickly ran away with the dog.
Pei Wu watched this scene with a smile. Everyone said that President Lu was ruthless, but he found Lu Xiwen's sometimes irritable attitude of slapping anyone who came to him to be quite adorable.
Lu Xiwen then turned back, but went to the driver's seat, opened the car door, and said to Pei Wu in an annoyed tone, "Get out of the car, let me drive."
