A phone screen lit up; it was a call from Lu Xiwen.

Lu Xiwen: "..." Sister, you almost made me deaf.
"Pei Wu?"

"Watching horror movies at home."

Ning Yu's heart skipped a beat, and he quickly explained, "I was on a business trip a couple of days ago and saw this purple clay teapot. I remembered you talking to General Manager Zhang about liking it, so I bought it on the spot."
"No need," Pei Wu said calmly. "I already received Director Ning's thanks."
Ning Yu sighed inwardly.
He knew it wasn't appropriate, especially after learning that Pei Wu had an Alpha, and that the other party was Lu Xiwen. He couldn't win against her, and he wasn't someone without principles. He just hoped to be friends, was that alright?
