Chapter 12 Am I the only one who broke the law?
Lu Xiwen put away his computer and then, as usual, took a shower. He was wrapped in a large bathrobe, surrounded by a layer of steam, which smelled very fresh.
Pei Wu looked down at her phone, sensing the tall figure approaching.
"You should get some rest," Lu Xiwen said in a deep voice.
Pei Wu: "Okay, Mr. Lu."
From this perspective, Lu Xiwen noticed that Pei Wu's hair whorl was very symmetrical and round, and her hair was soft and fluffy.
The young man appeared to be looking at his phone, but his fingers hadn't moved since Lu Xiwen approached, pretending to be very serious. Lu Xiwen found it amusing and scratched his inexplicably hot earlobe. He cleared his throat, picked up a glass of water from the table, and began to drink, swallowing clearly, sip by sip.
"I can go back now," Lu Xiwen thought to himself, and stood there for a full half minute.
It was only then that he belatedly realized that leaving Pei Wu in the room tonight might not be appropriate.
Just as Pei Wu's back began to sweat, Lu Xiwen finally returned to his room.
Pei Wu let out a breath and leaned back on the sofa. He didn't understand why the atmosphere had been so strange just now. But just as his brain was about to analyze it, he was interrupted in a bit of a panic. Pei Wu went to the window and looked at the rain for a while. After his mood calmed down, he quickly washed up.
The sofa is quite long. Although the edges tend to slide outwards when you lie on it, it's still quite comfortable if you pull yourself in.
Pei Wu wrapped himself in the blanket, the continuous sound of rain becoming the best white noise. He dozed off for a few minutes and then fell asleep.
The next morning, Pei Wu got up first.
He heard the bedroom door open wide while he was making tea, followed by the sound of water from the bathroom. Just as he placed the teacup on the table, there was a knock on the door. Pei Wu thought it was a waiter, but when the door opened, Fang Xiao was smiling broadly.
Fang Xiao: "..."
Pei Wu: "..."
Fang Xiao's mind went blank for a moment, "Assistant Pei?"
Pei Wu understood something from his eyes and smiled lightly, "I got up early. Mr. Lu would like to have some tea. Please come in first."
Pei Wu stepped aside, and Fang Xiao glanced inside; it was spotless.
Logically speaking, this is Fang Xiao's territory, but Pei Wu thinks he has a strong will to survive.
When Lu Xiwen came out of the bathroom, she was already dressed and looked radiant after a good night's sleep. Her complexion was incredibly good.
Lu Xiwen sat down on the sofa: "Shall we set off now?"
“Well, we’re all going to leave here anyway,” Fang Xiao said. “Perfect, I’ll take you there.”
Are there many people?
“Not too much,” Fang Xiao replied. “You just show your face, and you can leave anytime you don’t want to play anymore.”
This act of borrowing face was perfectly reasonable. No matter how chaotic things were inside the Fang family, Fang Xiao and Lu Xiwen had not only reached a cooperation agreement, but their relationship seemed quite good. Those who were blind to the situation would have to think twice before making any moves.
They didn't bring much; it was still just a small box.
This time, Pei Wu was driving, and Lu Xiwen was sitting in the back. Fang Xiao wanted to talk to Lu Xiwen, so he squeezed in as well.
The two talked about business for a while, mostly Fang Xiao talking non-stop while Lu Xiwen listened quietly. Fang Xiao's throat was dry from talking, and when he finally finished, he turned on the tap to get some water and took a sip. Suddenly, he thought of something and chuckled, "I wonder how many more people will fall for you once you appear."
Lu Xiwen said, "Don't do anything reckless."
"I know, but I can't control other people, can I?" Fang Xiao lowered his voice and said, "Speaking of my cousin, you're really not interested? He can't get over you."
Lu Xiwen hissed softly, "Isn't it annoying?" After a moment, he added, "I don't like Omegas."
It's not an "allergy," nor is it a condescending attitude stemming from genetic advantages; it's simply a matter of dislike.
If the secondary sexual characteristic is Omega, then there is absolutely no need for a deep relationship with Lu Xiwen.
"You don't really want an Alpha/Alpha relationship, do you? Forget it, Betas are too mediocre. I understand you like smart people. Double Alphas aren't out of the question, but how hard would it be to find a top-tier Alpha? Besides, would the association even agree to it?"
Lu Xi looked at him like he was a fool, "Am I the only one who broke the law?"
Fang Xiao: "..."
Speechless. Although Fang Xiao is also an Alpha, rated "high-quality," he is still not immune to the common problem of pheromone compatibility. He has a sensitive period, and when his rationality is overwhelmed by hormones, he needs the comfort of an Omega. This involves pheromone compatibility. Fang Xiao has dated four people, both male and female, and the highest compatibility with him reached 70%, which is quite a respectable number. However, the other party was too demanding and tried to use this to blackmail Fang Xiao into signing a transfer agreement. Fang Xiao took a closer look and realized that signing it would be stupid, equivalent to all his hard work over the years. If the first and third wives found out, they would laugh at him for the rest of his life.
Lu Xiwen is different. Top-tier Alphas are immune to all Omega pheromones, so they can easily get through their susceptible period.
It didn't arrive at the port until noon.
Pei Wu hadn't eaten anything all morning and was a little hungry.
Fang Xiao's ship was moored not far away, towering and magnificent, casting a shadow that allowed large flocks of seagulls to perch and rest.
Fang Xiao led the way for them: "Eat first, eat first."
Pei Wu sat down in the restaurant and felt a sudden pang of anxiety, probably caused by low blood sugar. He had just received a stabilizing injection and was not suited to an irregular lifestyle.
Lu Xiwen noticed that the color on his lips had faded. Fortunately, the food was served in time. There was hot noodle soup, made fresh by the chef, and it tasted very good. The seafood served next was all caught that morning, and the tuna sashimi was presented very beautifully.
Just as Fang Xiao was about to introduce the new dishes to Lu Xiwen, the man said irritably, "You should sell your villa as soon as possible. There's nothing there. It's so hard to even eat a steamed bun in the morning."
Fang Xiao thought to himself, "What does it have to do with you whether I eat a steamed bun or not?"
They're top-notch and never hungry. Before, when they had parties and drank heavily, they wouldn't eat a single bite all day. No matter how disheveled others were, Lu Xiwen was always sober.
Besides, the food at the mountain resort was definitely not to his liking.
"You need to change that picky habit," Fang Xiao said. "Besides us brothers, who can put up with you?"
Lu Xiwen hummed softly.
"Right, Assistant Pei?" Fang Xiao pulled his teammate.
As Lu Xiwen's assistant, Fang Xiao firmly believes that Pei Wu has suffered even more as a result.
To everyone's surprise, Pei Wu swallowed what was in her mouth and said gently, "President Lu is alright."
Fang Xiao: "..."
“Assistant Pei,” Fang Xiao said seriously, “believe me, where there is oppression, there is resistance. How did Lu Xiwen threaten you? Tell me so I can judge.”
Normally, Lu Xiwen would have already started mocking him, but for some reason, the usual sarcastic smile on his lips suddenly relaxed, revealing a hint of undisguised good mood.
"Fang Xiao," Lu Xiwen said, holding her glass and looking at him, "what do you know?"
The man's finger bones became even more clearly visible and beautiful as the tea in the cup swayed. Lu Xiwen's tilted head and upturned lips were a rare sight indeed.
"Still seductive," Pei Wu thought to herself.
