Chapter 26 I Value Loyalty Most
The incomplete "Man" character on the Red Romantic Hair Salon shimmered a dark red. Qin Jun lay carelessly on the massage chair, one hand roaming dishonestly around Xiaolian's waist. "Xiaolian, look, Brother Jun, I'm fine, aren't I?" Qin Jun shook his head smugly. "Those police can't do anything to me!" Xiaolian suppressed her discomfort and forced a smile: "Brother Jun is quite capable." The laughter of several underlings emanated from the back room. Qin Jun pointed his lips in that direction: "See? Brother Jun, I'm a man of honor. I've brought my brothers to take care of your business." A few more underlings glared at Xiaolian from behind. Qin Jun waved his hand: "Go inside! Don't be an eyesore here." As the underlings, with their lewd looks, entered the back room, his hands became even more brazen. "Brother Jun... don't do that..." Xiaolian pushed back, her body twisting involuntarily. Qin Jun leaned close to her ear, the reek of alcohol wafting down her cheeks. "What are you afraid of? The police can't do anything to me. Did you know I was only in there for a few days and then I got out?" His fingers pinched Xiaolian's waist. "I have someone up there, understand? He's very strong!" His other hand had already slipped under her collar. "Follow Brother Jun, and I guarantee you'll have everything you need..." Xiaolian's breathing quickened, a flicker of hesitation in her eyes, but she finally gave in, half-heartedly, and hummed, "Brother Jun... please be gentle..." Her thoughts were simple. Operating in this lawless territory, she needed a backer, and as far as she could get close to, that meant a thug like Qin Jun. Qin Jun laughed triumphantly, his movements becoming more brazen. Xiaolian's collar ripped open, revealing the cheap lace bra beneath. "Don't worry, Brother Jun has your back..." Qin Jun's voice trailed off, his grip tightening. Xiaolian bit her lip, her eyes drifting toward the door, as if in anticipation, yet also fear. Her body mechanically twisted with Qin Jun's movements, like a soulless puppet, occasionally letting out a few coordinated moans. "Brother Jun... you're not suffering in there... are you?" Xiaolian asked tentatively, her voice deliberately sweet. Qin Jun snorted coldly, "Who dares to make me suffer? I have a strong connection!" He suddenly pinched Xiaolian's butt hard. "What? Are you worried about Brother Jun?" Xiaolian gasped in pain, but still managed a smile: "Of course... Brother Jun treats me the best..." A burst of laughter suddenly rang out from the inner room, mixed with the woman's suppressed screams. Qin Jun looked at the...
The incomplete "Man" character on the Red Romantic Hair Salon shimmered a dark red light. Qin Jun lay carelessly on the massage chair, one hand resting dishonestly on Xiaolian's waist.
"Xiao Lian, look at me, Jun, I'm fine, aren't I?" Qin Jun shook his head proudly, "Those policemen can't do anything to me!"
Xiaolian suppressed her discomfort and forced a smile: "Brother Jun is very capable."
The laughter of several younger brothers could be heard from the inner room. Qin Jun pointed in that direction and said, "Did you see that? I, Jun, value loyalty the most. Didn't I bring my brothers to take care of your business?"
There were a few younger brothers behind him staring at Xiaolian with lustful eyes. Qin Jun waved his hand and said, "Go in, don't be an eyesore here." After the younger brothers entered the inner room with obscene looks on their faces, his hands became even more unscrupulous.
"Brother Jun...don't do this..." Xiaolian pushed him away, but her body twisted involuntarily.
Qin Jun leaned close to her ear, the smell of alcohol spraying on her face: "What are you afraid of? The police can't do anything to me. Did you know that I was released after only a few days in there?"
His fingers pinched Xiaolian's waist hard: "There's someone on top, do you understand? It's very hard!" The other hand had already reached into her collar, "Follow Jun Ge, I guarantee you will eat delicious food and drink spicy drinks..."
Xiaolian's breathing quickened, a hint of hesitation flashed in her eyes, and finally she half-heartedly hummed: "Brother Jun... please be gentle..."
Her idea was actually very simple. She was walking on the edge of the law in a no-man's land and needed a backer. As far as the person she could contact was concerned, it was a gangster like Qin Jun.
Qin Jun laughed triumphantly, his hands moving even more brazenly. Xiaolian's collar was ripped open, revealing the cheap lace underwear underneath.
"Don't worry, Brother Jun is here to protect you..." Qin Jun's voice became lower and lower, but the strength in his hands became stronger and stronger.
Xiaolian bit her lip, her eyes drifting towards the door, as if she was expecting something, but also seemed to be afraid of something.
Her body twisted mechanically with Qin Jun's movements, like a soulless doll, occasionally uttering a few coordinated moans from her mouth.
"Brother Jun... you didn't suffer in there... did you?" Xiaolian asked tentatively, her voice deliberately sweet.
Qin Jun snorted coldly, "Who dares to make me suffer? I have a strong connection!" He suddenly pinched Xiaolian's butt hard, "What? Are you worried about Brother Jun?"
Xiaolian gasped in pain, but still managed a smile: "Of course... Jun-ge is the best to me..."
Suddenly, a burst of laughter came from the inner room, mixed with a woman's suppressed screams.
Qin Jun glanced in that direction proudly: "Did you hear that? The brothers who follow Brother Jun, who doesn't eat delicious food and drink spicy drinks?"
His hands continued to wander over Xiaolian's body, and the scar on her face looked particularly hideous under the neon light.
Xiaolian closed her eyes, her long false eyelashes trembling slightly, like two butterflies resigned to their fate.
"Brother Jun...if something happens, will you really protect me?" She whispered softly, with indescribable complex emotions in her voice.
Qin Jun suddenly pulled her closer, and the smell of alcohol mixed with cigarettes hit her face: "What? You don't trust your brother Jun?"
He rubbed her butt vigorously with both hands, "Don't worry, Jun Ge won't treat you badly. If anything happens, I will protect you...haha."
At this moment, the glass door of the hair salon was suddenly pushed open, and the cold wind blew in snowflakes.
Qin Jun turned back impatiently, the smugness on his face instantly froze.
Lu Chao stood at the door with a cold smile...

The bus stop in Nan'an Village was shrouded in a gray mist. Luo Xin wrapped his down jacket tightly and walked quickly out of the bus.
She looked around habitually and saw the familiar figure under the street light at the end of the platform.
Sun Yong stood there as usual, his tall body slightly hunched, his hands stuffed in the pockets of his greasy cotton coat.
There was no expression on his dark face, except for a slight nod when he saw Luo Xin.
"I'm sorry to bother you again today." Luo Xin walked to his side and spoke softly.
Sun Yong shook his head, turned around and walked in front, deliberately slowing down his pace and waiting for Luo Xin, who was wearing high heels, to catch up.
There was half a step of distance between the two of them, and no one spoke.
The mysterious stalker has not appeared in the past few days, but Sun Yong still waits at the station on time every day.
Luo Xin secretly looked at the man next to him.
Sun Yong's profile looked particularly angular under the street light, and the wrinkles between his eyebrows seemed to be carved in, so deep that they could not be erased.
His eyes always drifted into the distance, as if he was looking at something that others could not see.
"Brother Sun," Luo Xin suddenly spoke, breaking the silence, "The results of the final exam will be out tomorrow."
Sun Yong paused for a moment, then continued walking forward: "Yeah."
"Xiaoxue told me that Sun Lei has always been number one in the grade," Luo Xin continued, his voice filled with genuine admiration. "And his scores are much higher than the second-place finisher. How did you educate him?"
The corner of Sun Yong's mouth twitched. "He learned it on his own." His voice was hoarse and low. "I don't have time to teach him."
Luo Xin glanced at her. Her eyebrows seemed to be permanently furrowed, and there was an indescribable melancholy in her eyes.
She also realized that this taciturn man might be much more complicated than he let on.
"Sun Lei is very sensible." She said softly, as if to comfort Sun Yong, but also to comfort herself. "Xiaoxue said that he never causes trouble at school and is very quiet."
Sun Yong slowed down his pace and pulled out a crumpled pack of cigarettes from his pocket. He hesitated for a moment before stuffing the cigarettes back in his pocket. "He... has been like this since he was a child."
The halo of light from the street lamp enveloped the two of them, casting long shadows on the snow.
Luo Xin suddenly felt an urge to learn more about this somewhat mysterious man and his son. But Sun Yong had already started walking forward, clearly not wanting to continue the conversation.
The two fell into silence again, only the squeaking sound of shoes on the snow was particularly clear in the quiet night.
After turning a corner, Luo Xin's rental house was already faintly visible.
"Brother Sun," Luo Xin spoke again, "Thank you so much for these past few days. If it weren't for you..."
Sun Yong waved his hand and interrupted her: "It's okay." His eyes were always fixed on the front, and he refused to look at Luo Xin.
The two walked forward in silence.
"We're here." He suddenly stopped and pointed to the unit door in front.
Luo Xin looked up at the window of her house. The light was still on. Xiaoxue should still be waiting for her.
She turned to Sun Yong and wanted to say something, but saw that he had already turned around and was about to leave.
"Brother Sun!" Luo Xin suddenly called out to him, "Tomorrow...you don't have to pick me up tomorrow. Xiaoxue is on vacation, and I plan to take a few days off to spend time with her."
Sun Yong paused for a moment, nodded slightly, and then strode into the night.
The sound of the key being inserted into the lock was particularly clear in the quiet corridor. When the door was opened, Luo Xue, who was drawing on the coffee table, jumped up immediately after hearing the sound.
"Mom!" The little girl ran over and threw herself into Luo Xin's arms.
Luo Xin's heart relaxed immediately. He gently stroked his daughter's long hair and smiled, "Why haven't you slept yet?"
Luo Xue smiled and said, "The exam is over anyway. Hehe, I'm drawing."
Luo Xin took a look at her daughter's paintings, which were of her classmates. She immediately noticed the one in the front. It was a thin boy sitting alone in the corner of the classroom, out of tune with the classmates who were playing around him. It was Sun Lei.
Sun Lei in the painting has his head down and his expression cannot be seen clearly, but the sense of loneliness penetrates the paper and strikes the heart.
"He's always alone." Luo Xue said with her face tilted up, "He gave me several wood carvings, so I wanted to give him something too. After thinking about it, I decided to give him a painting."
Luo Xin stroked her daughter's hair and suddenly remembered Sun Yong's departing figure. She sighed. The loneliness shared by both father and son was like an unsolvable mystery.
It seems that everyone living in this village has a past that they don't want to talk about, which is why their lives are so heavy.
Since there was no class the next day, Luo Xin chatted with her daughter for a while. When she came out of the bathroom, Luo Xue had fallen asleep on the sofa with the painting still in her hand.
Luo Xin gently picked up her daughter and took her back to the bedroom.
Before turning off the lights, she looked out the window again. Snowflakes were dancing under the street lights, like countless tiny secrets, falling silently in every corner of the city.

The light in the interrogation room was glaringly pale, and the scar on Qin Jun's face looked particularly hideous under the strong light. He twisted his body restlessly in the iron chair, beads of sweat oozing from his forehead.
This interrogation went much more smoothly than the last time. It seemed that Qin Jun didn't want to see Lu Chao's methods again.
"I'll tell you everything!" Qin Jun's voice was hoarse. "That old fellow Guo Zhong used to be a pimp, and Wang Shun was a frequent client of his!"
Yu Hao and Lu Chao exchanged glances.
"Tell me in detail." Yu Hao's voice was as cold as ice.
Qin Jun licked his cracked lips. "That was ten years ago. Guo Zhong opened a small hotel on the outskirts of the city and secretly organized prostitution. Wang Shun was a frequent patron at that time. The two knew each other for a long time."
"Didn't you say that you brought Wang Shun to Qin Island? How come Wang Shun came to Qin Island ten years ago?" Lu Chao stared at Qin Jun coldly.
"That... that's what I'm saying to Li Rong. If she knew what kind of person Wang Shun is, they'd have a huge fight. I love her, and I don't want to see her unhappy. Don't you think that's the truth?" Qin Jun talked to himself, trying his best to show the sweet talk of an old man in the love field.
"Qin Jun, you'd better answer the questions honestly. If I find out that you are still talking nonsense, you won't be able to leave this time. Do you hear me..." Lu Chao raised his head and pointed at Qin Jun with the tip of his pen, with a cold light in his eyes.
"Of course, of course. I've always been honest. I answer whatever the government asks."
"What is your relationship with Guo Zhong?" Yu Hao asked.
"That...that..." Qin Jun crossed his fingers and rubbed them, avoiding Yu Hao's gaze.
"Speak." Lu Chao slammed the table hard, scaring him.
"I'll tell you, I'll tell you." Qin Jun paused for a moment, lowered his head slightly, and looked at the two people in front of him with his eyes rolled up. "I don't know how you police define it, but I think of my job as a bodyguard."
"Bodyguard?" Lu Chao couldn't help but snort. "You'd better say thugs are more direct."
"That...that...is different, different." Qin Jun put his hands in front of his chest and waved reluctantly.
"What role does Gou Rong play among the three of you?" Yu Hao asked.
Qin Jun's gaze shifted to Yu Hao, "I feel like Gou Rong is the boss behind this."
"Like?" Lu Chao raised his head.
"Actually, I originally worked for Gou Rong, as his auto mechanic. He was the one who introduced me to be Guo Zhong's bodyguard." Qin Jun breathed a sigh of relief, "and asked me to keep an eye on Guo Zhong's situation."
"Heh." Lu Chao sneered, "So you're not only a thug, but also a spy."
"No, no, I'll just go with whoever pays the most." Qin Jun smiled frankly. "Can I have some water?"
Yu Hao stared at him for a moment and motioned to the policeman standing nearby to get him some water.
Qin Jun drank with a satisfied expression on his face. "The government is still the best. I will tell them whatever they want to know. I will never dare to hide anything."
