Chapter 107 Don't get confused

Shen Jiachen screamed and nearly went mad, unable to believe that the organization would forget him. All those years he had lived like a rat in a gutter, and all his perseverance had amounted to nothing.

It's utterly ridiculous.

His clinging to life for his beliefs is nothing but a joke.

They blamed all the mistakes on Gu Huadong and sought revenge against him, but in the end, it all came to nothing.

"Impossible. My faith will not abandon me, they will not abandon me, don't try to sow discord."

"They just can't contact me right now and don't know my exact location, which is why they haven't been able to find me. Plus, I'm hiding my identity, so it's understandable that they haven't been able to find me yet. Stop trying to sow discord; I won't fall for your tricks."

"It's all my fault. I was afraid people would recognize my true identity, so I deliberately hid myself wherever I went. That's why they couldn't find me. They won't abandon me. I believe they will come for me eventually. They will come..."

Gu Sinian looked at him with a sneer and pointed to his white hair. "If they didn't abandon you, why haven't they come to take you back after all these decades? They've turned you from a dashing major general into an old man. If they wanted to come, they would have come long ago. Why deceive yourself?"

"Is accepting reality really that difficult for you? Not only did you destroy the child that my great-aunt risked her life to save, but you also dragged your only son into an endless abyss to struggle in pain with you."

"It's both laughable and pathetic. You live like a rat in the gutter, without a proper identity for over a decade. But when you see your son has a legitimate identity and lives such a carefree life, you drag him into your abyss to be with you. You're such a despicable person."

"You treacherous and cunning villain, if it weren't for your deliberate instigation, would Gu Yuanming have become so estranged from the Gu family?"

"No, that's not it. No, I didn't. I didn't. You can't say that about me. I love my son with Fangfei. I love him."

Gu Sinian sighed. This stubborn fool could only fool those two idiots, Gu Yuanming and Gu Sihan. He was a former regimental commander, after all; how could he possibly let him get away with it?

Seeing how he exposed his true colors, he said, "You don't even believe what you're saying, do you?"

"It's better to say you can build airplanes and take them to the sky. Do you really think the soldiers guarding both sides of the sea are pushovers? You'll be shot down before you even get to the sky."

"Don't tell me you can swim across, that's a pipe dream. You know better than us what the other side of the sea is like. Or are you saying you can row across? That boat was broken before it even started."

As Gu Yuanming and Gu Sihan listened to Gu Sihan recount the truth, they realized how incredibly stupid they had been to believe their lies.

I really thought I could go there and live a good life, but it was all just a fantasy.

“I never said I would take them back there; I meant I would take them to live in the port city.”

Gu Sinian smiled sarcastically, "You want to smuggle yourself over? It's a life-or-death opportunity, and you might not even make it. You don't have that ability now. You'll have a hard time even leaving the East Market. They're looking for you everywhere."

"These dried yellow peaches have caused so many deaths, how can you possibly get them out of here?"

Shen Jiachen closed his eyes in pain. "Now that things have come to this, do with me as you please."

“We are law-abiding citizens and we don’t do things that lead to revenge. The mistakes you made will be punished by law.”

Shen Jiachen only realized the reality at this moment: he had lost, and lost miserably.

He closed his eyes in pain and never spoke again.

Su Ying watched Shen Jiachen pretending to be dead, loyal to his beliefs yet feeling powerless to be abandoned by them. How could she still remember the forgotten Shen Jiachen?

He chose the wrong faith from the beginning, and he was a pitiful person.

If Gu Fangfei had been able to face his problems like a man during the time he was imprisoned, the outcome might have been different.

There's no going back in life; once you make the wrong choice, it's for life, and there's no turning back.

Su Ying said sarcastically, "To be loyal to your beliefs, you left your wife alone to face all the problems. How desperate she must have been before she died to have chosen a beast like you. She had no choice. Only when she died could her child come out of that dark place and live a normal life."

"The path she painstakingly paved has been completely ruined by you, who considers yourself clever. If she knew that you had treated the son she risked her life to save so badly, wouldn't she be so angry that she would come back to life and strangle you?"

"My husband is a coward. He disappears whenever something happens, leaving her with all the most difficult choices and the hardest things to face."

"She made the most difficult choice, risking her life to save her child, only to have him hate his own uncle with just a few words from you, dragging his uncle's family into the abyss."

"Gu Yuanming has become this wretched state today all thanks to you. Congratulations on finally destroying your own bloodline. How laughable and pathetic."

Su Ying felt sorry for Gu Fangfei, who had given her life for such a scoundrel.

Marrying the wrong person is the most terrible thing; he will drag you into an endless abyss from which you will never see the sunlight again.

Gu Sinian had no idea how things had gotten so out of control and gotten to this point where it was impossible to salvage the situation.

He slowly squatted down beside Gu Yuanming, his face full of mockery, "You and your father are really alike, equally selfish and hypocritical, always thinking only of yourselves, never considering others even a little bit?"

"To be so cruel to one's uncle and aunt who raised one is truly shameless."

Gu Yuanming shook his head, disagreeing with Gu Sinian's words. "That's not how it is. That's not how it is. Shen Jiachen told me that I was the offspring of Gu Huadong's one-night stand, and that he had no choice but to bring me home to raise in order to silence the gossip."
