As soon as Su Ying stepped out of the black market, a little tail started following her closely. Su Ying noticed that someone was secretly following her, and her pace slowed down considerably.
Lu Zhan was even more cautious than she had imagined. As expected of someone in this line of work, being cautious wasn't a big mistake.
She took a small mirror out of her bag—actually, she used the smallest mirror she could find in her crossbody bag—and while tidying her messy hair, she raised the small mirror to look at the two men following her.
With such weak investigative awareness, he still had the nerve to follow her. He overestimated himself and underestimated her.
Then a seductive smile appeared on his lips, and he quickened his pace, walked to a relatively secluded place, and directly hid in the space.
The two men who had been following him searched around but couldn't find him, muttering to themselves.
"It's unbelievable! The person was clearly coming this way, but then they disappeared as soon as they turned around."
"Yeah, it's too weird and strange. We were following her very closely, and we kept the distance between us and that old woman at most about 100 meters. How could she disappear in the blink of an eye? I've never seen anything like it."
"It's really strange. This is the first time I've ever seen such an unbelievable person. It's not the first time I've done stalking, but I was actually shaken off by an old woman. It's really damn weird."
"Stop complaining. Let's think about how to explain this to Brother Zhan. Before we left, Brother Zhan repeatedly told us to make sure we found out all the information about the old woman. Now that things have turned out this way, it's a bit difficult. This is the first time we've failed to complete the task Brother Zhan assigned us."
"Damn it!" the man cursed as he lit a cigarette. He was also very upset, having been tricked by a slovenly rural woman. He couldn't swallow his anger and could only relieve it by lighting a cigarette.
"What is Brother Zhan thinking? The business has already been agreed upon and the goal has been achieved. The final payment will be settled as soon as the goods are delivered. Why would Brother Zhan go through all this trouble of tracking us?"
Another man snatched the half-smoked cigarette from his hand, looking somewhat irritated, and put it in his mouth to smoke.
When we get back, Zhan-ge will definitely scold us so badly that even our own parents won't recognize us. Two grown men lost track of a slovenly rural woman; it's embarrassing to even tell anyone.
"Don't try to guess what the boss is thinking. You can't guess it even if you use all the cells in your brain. If you could, you would be the one sitting in Zhan-ge's position."
"Don't say that to Brother Zhan. I'm tired of living and would rather fight with Brother Zhan for a seat. Being a subordinate is pretty good for me now. I have food and drink, and I get paid. I'm very satisfied with my current life."
He patted the other person on the shoulder and said earnestly, "Don't worry. I'm not the kind of person who talks too much. If you lose them, think about how to explain it to Brother Zhan."
"To be honest, what else can we do? That old woman is a cunning fox. She must have known we were following her and deliberately lured us here to escape."
"We've lost them all, what's the point of saying anything more? Let's go back and report."
As soon as the two men left, Su Ying cautiously emerged from her spatial dimension, peering around to observe her surroundings. Seeing that there were no suspicious people, she took out her newly bought bicycle and headed towards the abandoned warehouse in the south of the city.
After arriving at her destination, time ticked by. With three hours remaining until the delivery deadline, Su Ying didn't think much of it and prepared to go into her spatial dimension for a nap. She had important things to do that night and needed to be in good spirits.
After observing the surroundings for about ten minutes, she found a very secluded spot and entered the space. After all, she didn't want the ground troops to see her when she came out, otherwise she wouldn't be able to explain herself.
To avoid them discovering their secret, they chose a very secluded place to go in, so that they wouldn't be seen when they came out.
After entering the space, I ate the dishes I bought from the Peace Hotel, and after eating and drinking my fill, I lay on the bed and fell into a deep sleep.
As soon as the alarm rang, I grabbed it, opened my sleepy eyes, and saw that it was already four o'clock in the afternoon. There was still an hour until the agreed transaction time.
Su Ying got up and dressed up properly, using the same makeup and clothes she wore before bed. It took her half an hour to get ready. She ate something to fill her stomach and then left the space feeling refreshed.
They sneaked out of the space. There was quite a commotion at the abandoned warehouse. They could hear rustling sounds from afar, the sound of goods being moved to the ground, a dense chorus of footsteps, and a lot of conversations mixed together.
Su Ying cautiously looked around, and seeing that there was nothing unusual, she swaggered out of the bushes and moved towards the abandoned warehouse.
As soon as she arrived at the abandoned warehouse, the burly man who had taken two gold leaves from her was also there. He was the one instructing everyone to arrange the goods neatly. When he saw Su Ying coming this way, he scurried over to her like a lackey.
"Comrade, you've arrived. The goods have been almost all moved. Please check the inventory."
Su Ying nodded, didn't even look at the goods, and directly took out two yellow croakers from her bag and handed them to him.
"This is the final payment. Check the goods. If there are no problems, take your brothers back to report."
The burly man took a bite of the yellow croaker, and seeing that there was no problem, he told his brother to leave. Before leaving, he gave Su Ying a meaningful look.
Su Ying had seen plenty of these pitying looks in her past life. She could tell at a glance that Lu Zhan was up to no good. As soon as the man left, she immediately put all the goods into her spatial storage, turning the abandoned warehouse into a desolate wasteland.
Hearing footsteps, Su Ying immediately slipped into her spatial dimension. Fortunately, she ran fast. Less than half an hour later, Lu Zhan led his men into the abandoned warehouse, ready to double-cross them.
No wonder they're involved in the black market; they have absolutely no integrity. They took five yellow croakers and then tried to take all her goods back. That's ruthless.
