Chapter 113 Blood Test

That's an exaggeration. Didn't you see the strange looks from the people on both sides of the road?

Gu Sinian reminded her to slow down, even slower, "Walk faster. We have plenty of time, no rush."

Su Ying felt helpless and decided not to argue with this big man who was making a mountain out of a molehill.

Let him be. Once he's sure she's not pregnant, he'll gradually relax.

Gu Siqing waited and waited in the ward, but Gu Sinian and his wife did not appear. Bai Yuchuan was also complaining of being hungry. She was now in a dilemma, wondering whether to go to the state-run restaurant to buy food.

Bai Jiyuan is very open-minded. Now that her son's fever has subsided and he is slowly recovering, that's better than anything else.

Besides, his son had water to fill his stomach when he was hungry, and the doctor advised him to drink more hot water to detoxify. It didn't matter if he ate his regular meal a little later. He wasn't in a hurry at all and was in an unusually relaxed mood.

"No rush. Maybe they overslept. Let's be more understanding. After all, they've been running around for our son, and they must be exhausted."

"That's true, but I didn't mean to blame them. Wasn't Yu Chuan hungry? She kept saying she wanted to eat something."

"They might be on their way. Let's wait a bit longer."

My brother-in-law is a soldier, and he always keeps his promises. He promised to buy them breakfast, and he definitely will. As for why it hasn't arrived yet, maybe something has held him up.

"Mom, I'm hungry," a soft, sweet voice rang out.

Gu Siqing patted her son's fluffy little head. "Good boy, drink some water first to fill your tummy. There will be food soon. Your uncle and aunt will bring some delicious food over right away."

"All right."

He pouted and patted his flat stomach; he was really hungry.

The little boy kept staring at the door, hoping that his uncle and aunt would come soon. His eager little face amused Gu Siqing and Bai Jiyuan.

My son finally showed some signs of life, instead of lying motionless in the hospital bed with a flushed face; that would have been the most despairing thing.

Gu Siqing was relieved to see that her son's fever had subsided and he was much more energetic. Now he was clamoring for food, and she wanted to rush over and buy some.

But if Si Nian buys another breakfast, they won't be able to finish two breakfasts. Just as they were hesitating, the old lady in the next bed spoke up first.

"Your son is truly blessed. He survived such a calamity and is destined for great fortune. Even after being diagnosed with encephalitis, he managed to bring down his fever through physical cooling methods. This child is destined for great things in the future."

“Other children who get encephalitis will die without that expensive penicillin. You are such a lucky child, you’re flying high in the sky.”

The couple looked at each other, exchanged an awkward smile, and realized that without penicillin, their son would likely have been in grave danger.

But this can't be revealed, otherwise people will think Su Ying has supply channels and will come looking for her, which would be troublesome.

It's better to avoid trouble.

The couple took the "silence is golden" approach to the extreme, because saying too much could lead to mistakes. They were afraid that if they couldn't help but feel proud and revealed the truth about penicillin, they would be seen as ungrateful.

Bai Yuchuan has no memory of being unconscious. Now her stomach is growling with hunger, and all she wants to do is eat something to fill her belly.

Seeing that her parents didn't seem to want to talk to the aunt in the next bed, she said a few auspicious words.

"Thank you for your blessings, Auntie. I also wish you a speedy recovery and a speedy discharge from the hospital, so that illness stays far away from you."

"Oh my, you're such a lovable child, Auntie likes you very much."

"I like Auntie quite a bit too."

"Hahahaha...you're really hilarious."

"Auntie is also very interesting."

"Ha ha ha ha……"

Gu Siqing and Bai Jiyuan were both incredibly embarrassed. They were utterly inept at such polite conversation, and their son managed to handle it without batting an eye. It was truly admirable how he did it.

"You watch over our son, I'll go outside and see where Si Nian and Su Ying are."

"Go."

Gu Siqing walked quickly out of the hospital corridor and headed towards the main entrance. In the distance, she saw a young couple walking towards the hospital with small, quick steps.

She jogged over to the two of them and saw Gu Sinian carefully protecting Su Ying. She felt that something was a little off.

What are you doing here?

"Big sister, you've come at the right time. I've bought breakfast, here you go, take it back to your husband and Yuchuan."

Gu Siqing asked in confusion, "Aren't you going with us? The child is really looking forward to you visiting him. We need to go home to recuperate after breakfast."

"Okay. We'll pick you up from the ward after we're done."

"Let's go together. It just so happens that your brother-in-law and nephew want to talk to you."

"Big sister, you should go back first. Yingying and I still have things to do."

Gu Siqing frowned. "What business do you have at the hospital?"

"I suspect Yingying is pregnant."
