Chapter 356 Heartache

The Qin family.

Su Ying opened her blurry eyes and habitually touched the spot next to her.

Several days have passed since I returned to the Qin family home in Beijing. Although I'm not used to not having Gu Sinian's company, I feel at ease.

She can go out and shop to her heart's content, as long as she's happy.

Her aunt and uncle treated her very well; they gave her all the ration coupons and vouchers they usually hid away and were reluctant to use.

Xiao Bao has become the darling of the family, wanting to be held by everyone.

Gu Lichen was one of the many boys in the Qin family, just like Qin Chengyi; neither of them were as popular as Xiaobao.

But they've gotten used to it.

On the first day back, seeing everyone doting on Xiao Bao, Qin Chengyi and Gu Lichen felt a little jealous.

But after Su Ying's explanation, the two brothers in the same boat felt relieved.

Animals that are rare are always valuable.

The two nodded to each other, thinking that having a daughter in the future... would be a good deal.

They told Su Ying what they knew, and she almost burst out laughing.

Kids are really fun.

That's hilarious.

So cute.

So cute.

Suddenly I'm really looking forward to the gender of the baby in my belly.

Two ignored children sat around Su Ying, one on each side, with Qin Chengyi, the little one, placing his small hand on Su Ying's already slightly protruding belly.

She asked in a childish voice, "Are there three little sisters in your belly, sister?"

Su Ying's lips twitched. She touched Qin Chengyi's fluffy head and asked, somewhat puzzled.

Why?

"Because boys are worthless. My brother and I have been ignored so many times."

Su Ying has corrected Qin Chengyi's way of addressing him more than ten times, but the boy still calls him whatever is comfortable for him, and the way he addresses him is all messed up.

"Kid, you call me 'sister' and my son 'brother,' don't you think there's something wrong with that?"

Qin Chengyi tilted his head, thought about it seriously, then shook his head and sat slumped on the sofa.

"There's nothing wrong with that. You are Dad's daughter and my older sister, that's for sure."

"And what about him?"

Su Ying pointed to Gu Lichen's position, still not intending to change it, and said to herself.

"He's the older brother, and Xiaobao is the older sister, that's right."

Su Ying sighed, thinking that perhaps the child was too young to understand the issue of generational hierarchy. She didn't dwell on it too much, just as her mother had said, the child would realize the problem as they grew up and would gradually correct it.

It seemed that only she was constantly correcting Qin Chengyi's way of addressing him, while the Qin family members looked completely indifferent.

Qin Chengyi is quite pitiful. He is the youngest among the male members of the Qin family, but his seniority is extremely high. He is the third generation of the Qin family.

The fourth generation of the Qin family are already in junior high school, but he is still a three-year-old baby.

He nodded in agreement with whatever the younger members of the Qin family called him, "Uncle."

They acted like they didn't know me at all, telling me to call them whatever I wanted.

I don't think the term "little uncle" is old-fashioned or anything.

Only when the fourth generation of the Qin family called him "Little Uncle" would he ask.

"Why do you call me Uncle? I'm not an uncle, I'm a child."

Upon hearing this, the Qin family beamed with joy.

At this point, Su Ying had no more thoughts; she'd just let things be as they were.

Anyway, Qin Chengyi's way of addressing her is correct. As long as she doesn't use the wrong title, there's no problem.

"Nobody wants to play with you, and they think you're too young. How about I take you out to play instead?"

Gu Lichen and Qin Chengyi's eyes lit up when they heard they could go out and play, and they pulled Su Ying along as they walked out.

Su Ying found his eagerness amusing and funny.

"Wait a minute. Let me carry your bag, otherwise we won't be able to buy anything after we go out."

Although Gu Lichen was young, he knew that his mother's belly was big and it would be inconvenient for her to walk, so he volunteered.

"I'm going upstairs to get my mom's bag."

Su Ying agreed without hesitation. She only brought the bag to avoid suspicion, since everything she had was in her spatial storage.

I usually retrieve things from my personal space by going through my bag.

"Thank you, Chenchen."

Gu Lichen didn't need to ask what kind of bag it was, since Su Ying always carried that bag with her when she went out.

As soon as she took the bag off, Su Ying took one of them by the hand and walked out.

Seeing his mother leave with his older and younger brothers, Xiao Bao ignored the crowd surrounding her and ran to Su Ying.

"Mom, brother, and younger brother, are you going out to play? Why didn't you call me?"

Su Ying was taken aback, because her daughter was so popular that she had been constantly being fought over to be held by others since she came back.

All the good things belong to her.

Gu Lichen and Qin Chengyi could only watch helplessly from the sidelines, which was quite heartbreaking.

Because she felt neglected, her two children became extremely clingy to her.

They always sat on either side of her, talking to her, and she only remembered to take them out today.

"You want to go too?"

Xiao Bao nodded without hesitation, "I want to go."

"If Xiaobao wants to go too... Mom can't keep an eye on all three kids, I can only hold onto two."

Xiao Bao realized that her mother was going to abandon her, and she felt a mix of emotions, looking at Su Ying with a pitiful expression.

Xiao Bao looked at her as if she were a heartless woman... and cruelly abandoned her.

Honestly, I only asked Xiaobao because I saw her having so much fun and assumed she wanted to stay with her family.

I didn't expect this child to be so sensitive and to have such thoughts.

“You can come together if you want, but to be honest with Xiaobao, it’s really too much for me to keep an eye on three kids. If you want to go, you can consider bringing an adult along so she can look after Xiaobao.”

After thinking it over carefully, Xiao Bao walked to Du Nan's side, took her hand, and walked towards Su Ying.

"Grandma, can you come with me?"

Du Nan nodded, smiling as she looked at the adorable little dumpling. "Sure. Whatever Xiao Bao says goes."

Miao Ruxiu sat to the side, looking at Xiaobao angrily. "Does Xiaobao think his great-grandmother is too old and useless? He didn't even take me with him."

Xiao Bao shook his head. "No, no. Xiao Bao doesn't mind Grandma. Xiao Bao is worried that Grandma will get tired. If you need anything, just tell Xiao Bao and Xiao Bao will ask Mom to buy it for Grandma."

Hearing that his beloved great-granddaughter was so filial and adorable, he was overjoyed and pinched her little cheek.

"Considering how cute and filial Xiaobao is, it's fine to just pick out a gift for Grandma. Grandma will like whatever Xiaobao buys."

Xiao Bao scratched his head, then nodded, "Okay then."

Qin Tianxiong, who was sitting to the side, couldn't stand it anymore and started to get jealous.

Over the years, he has learned one phrase: "The squeaky wheel gets the grease," which is a hard truth.

I've tried it many times, and it's true. He didn't say anything, and the old woman acted as if she knew nothing.

Things will get much better after he grows a mouth and speaks, and life will be much smoother.
