Gu Sinian returned home, unsure how to bring up the topic of his secret mission.

Su Ying stood at the door with Gu Sinian, and out of curiosity, she asked.
"What did Xiao Liu want from you just now? Judging from his expression, he seemed quite anxious."
Gu Sinian, who was chopping vegetables, paused and almost cut his hand. Fortunately, he reacted quickly, and his wife didn't notice anything amiss.
"It's nothing. There's just an urgent meeting that requires my presence."

Seeing that Gu Sinian had cooked the dishes and then made her favorite dry pot, she was a little puzzled.
"We already have enough food today. If we make another dry pot, we probably won't be able to finish it."
"It's alright. Just put the last dry pot into your space, and you can eat it whenever you feel like having a bite."

"Take advantage of the fact that it's still warm and put it in the space to keep it warm, because it will cool down quickly when the weather gets cold."
Su Ying did as she was told. The slightly spicy dry pot was her favorite, though her family didn't like it as much.
"Thank you, honey."
Gu Sinian closed his eyes helplessly. This might be the last time he cooked for his wife. He might not have the chance again.
When higher-ups say a task will take a year to complete, it's all nonsense; they're just trying to appease them.
To be honest, it takes at least two years.
Or even longer.
The thought of not seeing his wife for two years and not being able to witness the birth of his triplets made Gu Sinian feel very uneasy.
When his wife gave birth to their first child, he was on a mission. During that time, the baby went missing, and his wife didn't even have time to properly recover after childbirth.
This is the third pregnancy! If something unexpected happens to the child, what will happen to his wife without his meticulous care?

Gu Sinian served food to the two children and told them to take good care of their mother.
The two children are very sensible and know why their father gave them such instructions.
After all, every time Dad went on a mission, he would tell them to take care of Mom.
"Good girl. Hurry up and eat, or it will get cold."
An hour later, Gu Sinian had been delayed in cooking for too long and hadn't finished eating when Liu Xiaoliu came over to urge him to finish.
