Qiao Xiyan swallowed hard, beads of sweat forming on her forehead.
The thought of going to jail exploded in her mind. She never imagined that a casual remark could become a crime of defamation. The villagers were all unruly and reckless; she couldn't let herself go to jail just to get the satisfaction of her words.
Her most important purpose in going to the countryside was to marry Gu Sinian and change her tragic fate from her previous life.
Everything was now out of her control, and she didn't know what to do. She could only turn her attention to Aunt Ya Xian.
After much effort, Gu Sinian managed to arrange a meal together, but he refused to go home. Going to the supply and marketing cooperative with Su Ying was just an excuse to avoid her.

Su Ying shook her head. "It's nothing. I was just a little scared."
She thought there would be a big show to watch later, but Qiao Xiyan pulled such a move, catching her off guard. She almost tumbled off the oxcart before she could react, and was quite frightened, her heart pounding in her chest.
Gu Sinian calmed Su Ying down and yelled at Qiao Xiyan, "Qiao Xiyan, are you crazy?"

“I know. I just want to go to the supply and marketing cooperative to buy things, and none of you can stop me from going there.”
Sun Xuelin didn't realize for a moment that his whip had been taken away. By the time he realized what had happened, the oxcart was already slowly moving.
He snatched the bullwhip back from Qiao Xiyan's hand, glared at her, and said, "You're crazy!"
Qiao Xiyan gripped the cart tightly and waved to Sun Youde behind her, "Captain, I'm going to the supply and marketing cooperative first. I'll apologize to you when I get back. Please don't hold it against me."
Gu Youde was left stomping his feet in frustration, while a number of villagers and educated youth gathered around demanding justice.
