Chapter 143 Burning Passion

The next morning, the sky was clear and bright. At this time of day, when it would normally be time for breakfast, Yu Qianqian was woken up by the people from the Regent's Palace. A group of people surrounded her, helping her to dress, change clothes, and take a bath, busy and happy.

Yu Qianqian's old injuries had not yet healed, and this was the first time she had been subjected to such treatment. In less than half an hour, she was almost completely exhausted.

With one hand supporting her chin, she leaned against the dressing table, looking at herself in the mirror. Lost in thought, she realized that this was her third wedding. Yet, she had never married with the joy and happiness of other young women. Each time, it was filled with intrigue and helplessness.

Perhaps her life was destined to be spent in deceit and treachery. Although she was unwilling to become a victim of fate, she had no choice but to accept everything.

Before long, everything was finally ready. Through the beaded curtain, she saw Mu Feiyu in a wedding dress, escorted by a group of servants, striding towards her.

She raised her eyes, slowly stood up, and looked at Mu Feiyu with a calm and composed expression, neither angry nor smiling, her voice devoid of any warmth.

"Royal Uncle..."

"Don't forget your place. You should call me husband now." Mu Feiyu raised an eyebrow and smiled meaningfully. "Since we're both acting, we should play the whole thing to make sense. You should treat me the way you treated Mu Beichen before, without the slightest mistake."

It's clear he doesn't like her; he wants to destroy anything that belongs to Mu Beichen himself.

He stared at Yu Qianqian as he strode over, his body slowly leaning forward, bending into an arc so that his face was only a few centimeters away from hers. He could almost feel her eyelashes blinking frequently.

After being humiliated, Yu Qianqian decided to play along. She clenched her fists, trying to suppress her anger, and smiled coldly: "You haven't been drinking, so how can you be so drunk?"

"Mu Feiyu, your desperate look makes me think that you went to great lengths to marry me just because you can't express your feelings and are trying to beg for my affection. If that's the case, then I really need to think about whether I should make your infatuation public."

As she spoke, she carefully observed the expression on Mu Feiyu's face. When he was successfully provoked, she immediately suppressed her chaotic emotions, shut her mouth, and narrowly escaped a disaster right under his nose.

A loud voice suddenly rang out from the gate: "The auspicious time has arrived. We respectfully invite Your Highness and Your Highness to the Imperial Ancestral Temple to complete their wedding ceremony!"

Yu Qianqian and Mu Feiyu, upon hearing the sound, both snapped out of their daze. Without hesitation, they stepped straight out the door. Amidst the disdain of the crowd, they walked side by side until they both entered the same bridal sedan chair. Music, along with the surrounding noise, rang out in the street.

"Did you see that? That woman used to be the wife of Prince Jing. I heard she committed the crime of deceiving the emperor, and now she's resorting to any means to climb up to the Regent. How can there be such a shameless woman in the world?"

In front of the Regent's Palace, the long wedding procession stretched almost from one end of the street to the other. Amidst a cacophony of cheers, the sedan chair began to move forward slowly.

Inside the sedan chair, Yu Qianqian and Mu Feiyu sat side by side, intently staring straight ahead, oblivious to each other.
