Chapter 241 Kidnapping (shuhaige.net)

"Don't move, wait here for me to come back!" Mu Beichen couldn't wait for her reply. He leaped off his horse, his eyes locked on the strange figure, and rushed towards the cliff.

As Yu Qianqian sat on horseback, watching Mu Beichen grow increasingly blurry in her vision, her thoughts still lingering on the fleeting moment she had just seen that figure.

Logically speaking, even under normal circumstances, this place should not be frequented by anyone other than royalty. Moreover, they had already cleared the entire Wuji Palace before they arrived today, so apart from the imperial guards specially arranged by the palace, there was absolutely no chance for anyone of unknown origin to sneak in.

But this person only revealed himself when they reached a deserted area. Could it be...?

Just as she was thinking about these things, she suddenly felt a cold wind sweep past her, accompanied by a dark shadow quickly enveloping her head. She turned around and, in that instant, a person and a sword appeared before her eyes as if blown by a gust of wind.

Amidst a mixture of fear and dread, she stared intently, only to see the man with a black veil holding a sharp blade to her neck, his eyes peeking through the gaps in the veil flashing with murderous intent.

Her gaze shifted slightly as she looked up at the strange man again. Yu Qianqian quickly composed herself, not allowing him to utter any threats. She calmly raised the corners of her lips, revealing a cold smile: "Tell me, what is your purpose in kidnapping me?"

The masked man was startled by her calm and composed demeanor, and even the blade of his sword trembled involuntarily in his hand, almost causing him to lose control of his arm strength.

If her health weren't so poor, this one slip would have been enough to turn this person into her defeated foe. It's clear that this thief isn't very skilled and was probably only forced to act out of desperation by someone else.

"Enough nonsense! If you don't want to die, come with me obediently!" The masked man roared viciously, and with another burst of force, he brought the sword blade close to Yu Qianqian's throat. The cold light shooting from the sword caught his eye, sharp and piercing.

"Go with you?" Yu Qianqian remained seated on her horse, her disdainful gaze sweeping over the masked man before her laughter grew even colder. "Heh... are you sure you can escape His Majesty's notice with such clumsy methods?"

She looked at the long sword at her neck, and at Mu Beichen rushing towards her from behind. A sly smile appeared on her face, and she remained seated without moving an inch.

Just as the masked man was about to mount his horse and forcibly take her away, Mu Beichen and his group of guards rushed over and quickly surrounded her.

As he approached them, Mu Beichen glanced at them and saw that the masked man was holding Yu Qianqian hostage with a sword. This immediately reminded him of how he had recently colluded with this man from the inside to lure him away and then take advantage of the situation to make a move on Yu Qianqian.

Thinking of this, his face turned bright red, and he was filled with rage. "You audacious little thief, if you dare to touch her in the slightest, you will pay a terrible price today!"

“One for one. If you release Princess Mingxia, then I will consider sparing her life.” The masked man pressed against Yu Qianqian’s neck with all his might, retreating step by step. His gaze shifted between Mu Beichen and Yu Qianqian, his expression strange and unpredictable, but his tone was as calm as water when he said this.

Upon hearing this, Mu Beichen's expression changed drastically. He quickly cut off the remaining sound and shouted angrily, "Shut up! Shameless scoundrel, stop spouting nonsense!"
