Chapter 260 A Carefully Planned Trap

Yu Qianqian walked unhurriedly in the middle of the crowd, gazing at the other end of the long street. The crowd was still thronging like bees leaving their hive, and in the blink of an eye, she passed by teahouses, restaurants, and various flower shops and antique shops one by one.

She then went to a cosmetics shop and a tailor shop, where she carefully selected some exquisite jewelry and clothing. Along the way, she deliberately dressed herself up in a flamboyant manner.

Today, she wore a flowing, rose-patterned dress in a water lily color, her slender waist bound by a matching silk sash, highlighting her perfect and alluring curves. She also wore light makeup, and a silver tassel hairpin cascaded down her hair like a waterfall, making her look like a fairy, standing gracefully in everyone's eyes.

After she had dressed up carefully, she was clearly a completely different person from before. Now she continued to walk down the street, glancing occasionally at the envious and jealous glances from the crowd, but her face remained calm and expressionless.

Then, among the crowd watching her, various comments came over: "This girl's figure and temperament are just too outstanding. She really is like a stunning beauty who just stepped out of a painting!"

"Oh dear! Why does she look so familiar? It's like I've seen her somewhere before..."

"Familiar? Give me a break. Have I ever seen a beautiful woman who doesn't look familiar to you?"

As the discussions on the street grew louder, more people quickly gathered around Yu Qianqian, and the scene erupted in an uproar.

Along the bustling street, several guards dressed in identical black uniforms stood facing directly towards them from the center of the crowd.

Seeing Yu Qianqian surrounded and fawned over by many people, looking nonchalant but occasionally glancing over out of the corner of their eyes, they quietly slipped away in another direction before anyone noticed.

As fate would have it, this was the moment she had been waiting for!

Yu Qianqian remained expressionless, neither angry nor smiling. Her sharp gaze swept in the direction the black-clad guards had gone, a hint of coldness creeping into her eyes.

Just as she had expected, news soon came from the palace that the Empress had been harassed by some idle people and was now trapped on the street with nowhere to go.

Upon hearing this, Mu Beichen became extremely agitated and immediately decided to personally bring Yu Qianqian back. Without a moment's hesitation, he quickly assembled his troops and set off in a grand manner towards the city.

Before them, a large group of people followed the lead imperial carriage, passing through the end of the street and finally stopping abruptly in the middle of the street at the busiest location.

At this moment, the men and women who were originally discussing Yu Qianqian immediately fled to the side of the street. Everyone in the area fell silent and turned their gazes to the dragon carriage without saying a word.

With a slight lift of his hand, Mu Beichen was helped down from the sedan chair by his attendants in full view of everyone. His gaze narrowed slightly, and with just one glance, he pierced through Yu Qianqian's subtle expression.

Yu Qianqian, a hundred meters away, glanced at Mu Beichen with a calm and indifferent expression.

Almost everything that was about to happen was within her expectations, so she was neither surprised nor delighted.
