"Okay, I understand." Leng Yuexi smiled and nodded gently. "Since you are unwilling, I will not force you. You can leave whenever you want."
Hearing her agree with his own ears, Su Yu glanced at her, making sure he hadn't misheard, and then breathed a sigh of relief. Without giving it another thought, he turned around and disappeared from Leng Yuexi's sight.
After leaving the side hall, Su Yu went directly to the Imperial Hospital, intending to meet Yu Qianqian to discuss the specific time for leaving Ziyan Kingdom. However, when he arrived, he found only an empty room and did not find the person he wanted to see. Instead, he found an anonymous letter on the corner of the table.
He then opened the letter and read that Yu Qianqian had been kidnapped by a mysterious organization that wanted him to give a large sum of money and Leng Yuexi's life in exchange.
He thought about it again and again, and finally had no choice but to go to the Moonlit Palace that very night.
Su Yu rushed back the way she came and found Leng Yuexi. She was so anxious that she was out of breath. Before she could even sit down, she quickly got to the point and said, "Yuexi, Yu Qianqian is missing. It seems she has been kidnapped. Could you please help me find out more about these kidnappers?"
Upon hearing this, Leng Yuexi immediately panicked as well. She loosened her grip, and the porcelain cup crashed to the ground, shattering into countless fragments.
"What? Sister Qianqian is missing?"
When did this happen?
Ignoring the mess on the ground, Leng Yuexi stepped on the porcelain shards and quickly approached Su Yu. She appeared even more nervous than Su Yu at first glance.
Su Yu struggled to suppress her agitation and deliberately maintained a calm demeanor as she opened the anonymous letter and handed it to Leng Yuexi for a look.
"Now that we have news of Sister Qianqian, what are we waiting for? To ensure Sister Qianqian's safety, Brother Yu, don't hesitate any longer. Saving her is the priority!" Leng Yuexi glanced at the contents of the letter, and the thought of helping Su Yu save Yu Qianqian emerged without hesitation. She didn't even know why she thought that way.
Su Yu was also somewhat surprised that Leng Yuexi agreed so readily. After all, she had just rejected her because of Yu Qianqian. In fact, it was already quite remarkable that Leng Yuexi did not hold a grudge. Now, she was able to help them without holding a grudge. Leng Yuexi's thoughts were truly unbelievable.
"Yuexi, thank you..." Su Yu's expression changed, she paused slightly, and then nodded in agreement, deciding to do as Leng Yuexi said.
"Brother Yu, there's no need to thank me. As Sister Qianqian's good friend, I naturally don't want anything to happen to her." Leng Yuexi said calmly, gave him a deep look, and then turned to go to her room to prepare the ransom.
They left Xiyue Palace overnight, sharing a carriage, and headed to the address on the letter.
In the dead of night, with few stars in the sky, Leng Yuexi and Su Yu sat in the carriage. They clenched their hands on their knees, lowered their faces, and avoided looking at each other, their gazes shifting repeatedly between their lower bodies and the ground.
This unusually gloomy atmosphere created an unprecedented silence and eeriness. None of them uttered a single word on the way. After leaving the palace, they followed the address on the letter all the way to the deepest valley.
