After settling everything, Mu Beichen led Xiao Mohan and the others out of the palace. As soon as they stepped out of the palace gate, they saw Su Yu standing under a big tree, looking back at them from afar.
He glanced arrogantly at the opposite side, then without saying a word, abandoned his subordinates, cracked his whip, and spurred his horse to gallop away. It was better that he had come to him on his own initiative, saving him the trouble of wasting time and effort.
Seeing Mu Beichen run off into the distance, Xiao Mohan was somewhat surprised. He didn't even turn his gaze to the man in blue robes before his master rushed straight towards him. But then again, this man must be different from ordinary people, since Mu Beichen would personally greet him.
Suddenly, the scene shifted. Mu Beichen rode up to Su Yu on horseback. He didn't dismount, but looked down at her from his elevated position, his tone calm, "Let's find a quiet place to talk."
Su Yu stood motionless in place, and nodded slightly as he finished speaking, her expression unchanged: "Alright, as you wish."
They were quite far from the palace gate. Xiao Mohan strained his ears, but still couldn't hear what the other side was saying. Seeing his master's mysterious expression, he hesitated. In a moment of inattention, the two people opposite each mounted a horse, cracked their whips, and the horses immediately galloped forward. In no time, they were far away.
Xiao Mohan pulled on the reins and sped off, close behind. His brothers chased after him against the wind, but they still managed to put some distance between themselves and Mu Beichen.
Amidst the howling wind, one of the guards shouted at him, "General Xiao, where exactly is His Majesty going?"
Xiao Mohan ignored the person and instead stared intently at the two figures galloping away on horseback ahead, fearing that he might lose sight of them if he wasn't careful.
Xiao Mohan has been with Mu Beichen since childhood and should be the person who understands him the most. Over the years, whether it was fighting on the battlefield or engaging in open and covert struggles with the princes and grandsons, Mu Beichen always managed to appear fearless. However, whenever Yu Qianqian was mentioned, he seemed to become a completely different person.
Ahead, the mountain road was rugged and the forest was deep and secluded. Two figures could be seen walking through several bushes halfway up the mountain. Mu Beichen and Su Yu dismounted and continued to walk deeper into the forest until they reached a flower-lined path and slowed down.
Seeing that the two behind him had stopped, Xiao Mohan led his subordinates to wait quietly to the side.
This place looks exceptionally quiet, with only a lush green bamboo forest and a stream winding through the green mountains.
Mu Beichen and Su Yu found a relatively flat spot and sat down facing each other, separated by a square stone table. Below them, at the foot of the cliff, lay a vast city and a sea of people rushing about like ants.
Su Yu raised her hand to brush a strand of hair from her temple, facing Mu Beichen with a nonchalant smile: "Your Majesty, Mu... I'm a little curious. Haven't you always been quite prejudiced against me? Why are you going to such lengths to persuade me to meet you now?"
Mentioning this, Mu Beichen felt a surge of pride and stood up with a smile: "To be honest, this was originally my wife's idea, and as her husband, I couldn't disobey her."
