Chapter 85 The Temperamental Su Yu

Seeing Su Yu's arrogant attitude, Su Zhenzhen's heart tightened. She bit her lower lip and forced a smile, saying, "Cousin, I have something very important to say to you alone. How about we find a quiet place?"

Su Yu casually fixed his gaze on her face for a few seconds, then silently nodded in response.

Su Zhenzhen followed Su Yu out of the palace and walked along the long street until they reached a secluded place where no one lived. On the other side of the river, rows of willows swayed their withered yellow branches in the wind. A chilling wind blew towards them, and the bone-chilling cold instantly penetrated their thick robes, hitting their skin directly, leaving them no way to avoid it.

Su Yu suddenly stopped in her tracks, turned her back to Su Zhenzhen, and said in a deep voice, "Alright, just say what you have to say."

Su Zhenzhen hurriedly chased after Su Yu, forcing a smile as she whispered, "Cousin, our wedding is approaching. Although this marriage wasn't decided by either of us, I still think we should get to know each other better beforehand to avoid feeling awkward in the future."

"Cousin, you're probably overthinking things, aren't you?" Su Yu suddenly turned to her, crossed his arms in front of him, and smiled casually: "I don't remember ever saying I wanted to marry you?"

Seeing Su Yu's disdainful look, Su Zhenzhen immediately panicked, "But... your father had already discussed it with my father..."

"Don't try to intimidate me with your father's name! No one can decide my own affairs!" He roared at Su Zhenzhen, and almost instantly, his bright eyes turned scarlet.

Especially when he thought about how Su Heng had used the benefits left by the late emperor to control the Su family's royal power at all times, and now wanted to use him as a puppet in exchange for future imperial power, he wished he could tear him to pieces.

Rather than pretending to be indifferent and fawning over Su Heng, it would be better to just have a clean break. Even if the outcome is uncertain, it would still be much better than the current situation.

But... no, he is still just a crown prince, his power is not yet fully established, and he has no right to decide on matters of national importance.

His shout immediately ignited the arrogance of Su Zhenzhen, the pampered young lady. Her face almost contorted with anger as she glared at Su Yu and yelled, "Cousin, my father has gone to great lengths for your Su family, yet you are so ungrateful! You...you have utterly disappointed me!"

Su Yu stared directly at Su Zhenzhen, as if afraid she wouldn't hear him clearly, and deliberately slowed down his tone, saying each word slowly and deliberately: "I want to tell you, Su Zhenzhen, I, Su Yu, am not an item used for trade by your Grand Tutor's Mansion, much less a puppet prince... Isn't your father all-powerful? If he has the guts, let him lead troops to besiege the capital and personally depose me, the crown prince!"

Even so, my original intention remains unchanged.

After a long pause, Su Zhenzhen suddenly gave a cold laugh. Her sinister and terrifying expression sent a chill down Su Yu's spine.

"Cousin, is your strong resistance to this marriage because of that woman of unknown origin?"

When her final line was crossed, Su Yu, in a fit of rage, shoved her away forcefully and roared hysterically, "Su Zhenzhen, if you don't want me to feel disgusted, then don't bother me with my affairs anymore!"

With a furious flick of his sleeve, Su Yu turned around, ready to abandon Su Zhenzhen and stride away. But as he turned back sharply, he was caught off guard by Feng Jin standing motionless just inches away from him.

She neither smiled nor got angry; her eyes were empty as she stared coldly at him, like a lifeless wooden sculpture.
