The sudden turn of events happened so fast, so unexpectedly, that everyone craned their necks to look towards the center of the dance floor.
"My God! This is the infamous good-for-nothing young lady, Feng Jin? Unbelievable!"
"This sword technique is truly exquisite. An ordinary person would need to practice for at least twenty years to be able to master it to such a degree."
"It seems the rumors are not true; Princess Jing is no ordinary person!"
People say that the Prime Minister's mansion is indeed full of extraordinary women! Mu Feiyu covered half of her face with a folding fan, raised an eyebrow, and smiled wickedly.
Su Yu's eyes were fixed on Feng Jin, and she unconsciously drifted off into thought. She hadn't expected that this woman was such a formidable character who kept a low profile. She was far less flamboyant and ostentatious than Feng Yao. Her fresh and refined outfit seemed to be nothing more than a pretty face, but now it seemed that the latter was undoubtedly superior.
The two sisters, Feng Jin and Feng Yao, already harbored prejudices against each other, so she likely knew the inside story of what had just happened. Mu Beichen glanced sideways at Feng Jin, who was practicing her swordplay, a strange glint in his eyes. He was usually incredibly astute, but he couldn't fathom what this woman was thinking.
Feng Jin sensed Mu Beichen's gaze and returned a mysterious smile without hesitation. This smile, however, made Mu Beichen blush for no apparent reason.
A gentle breeze rippled around Feng Jin, and petals danced in the air. The soft sunlight shone on her face, clearly illuminating her arched, graceful figure, her radiant eyes, and her smile that bloomed like a flower... Her graceful movements on the dance floor drew an arc in the air with the golden sword light, her waist swaying as she leaned back, her flowing sleeves swirling around her.
In a split second, she spotted the scabbard in the palace servant's hand, and with a graceful, flying motion, flung the golden sword out with her water sleeves, striking the scabbard squarely.
Before anyone could turn their gaze away, her figure had already fallen along with the sword light.
At this moment, everyone was stunned. This way of sword dancing was really rare. In the past, it was common to see men dancing with swords, and they never thought there was anything new about it. On the contrary, the appearance of such a beautiful shadow not only showed the graceful dance of a woman, but also the momentum of piercing through the sky. It was amazing and thought-provoking.
Feng Yao sat beside Feng Qingyun, her cold gaze never leaving Feng Jin. She hadn't expected her older sister to be so opportunistic. Knowing that she wasn't good at music, chess, calligraphy, or painting, she used this novel method to attract attention. However, Feng Jin was usually incredibly stupid, yet she had never seen her learn sword dancing.
Mu Qiye slammed his hand on the table and laughed excitedly, "Excellent! Princess Jing has truly broadened my horizons. I admire you, I admire you!"
"Thank you for your praise, Your Majesty. I am unworthy of such praise." Feng Jin knelt down and bowed. When she looked up, she met Mu Qiye's lecherous eyes. She felt a churning in her stomach. The Yu family was wiped out entirely because of this tyrannical emperor.
Just then, Mu Feiyu flicked the golden sword in the palace servant's hand with her folding fan, and the sword immediately returned to her hand, causing everyone around her to break out in a cold sweat.
He went straight to Feng Jin, raised his eyes slightly, and revealed a faint smile: "Princess Jing, your movements and swordsmanship are excellent. I wonder if I would have the honor of learning from you?"
Feng Jin turned around in surprise. His eyes seemed unfocused, and his deep, dark eyes were filled with a ghostly blue light. From a distance, one could feel an icy, bone-chilling aura surrounding him, making him extremely dangerous.
However, before Feng Jin could reply, the servants had already obeyed the order and presented a silver sword.
"Uncle, please forgive me." Feng Jin accepted the sword and bowed to Mu Feiyu.
Time flew by, and in the blink of an eye, the sun had set. The deep night air enveloped the starry sky, and the palace was brightly lit, making Feng Jin and Mu Feiyu's figures appear ethereal and otherworldly, like celestial beings descending from heaven.
When everyone looked again, they saw them holding swords in both hands, standing for a moment, then with a flick of their long sleeves, they leaped into the air like dragons and flew towards the dance floor.
Feng Jin, who moved swiftly through the air, was like a light cloud emerging from a mountain peak. With a few leaps, she arrived at the center of the dance floor, while the series of afterimages behind her had not yet faded away.
"Excellent, what superb movement technique!"
As Mu Qiye stood up and exclaimed in surprise, he frowned slightly as he watched Feng Jin's every move. He felt that this figure seemed somewhat familiar.
The eunuch beside Mu Qiye also noticed something amiss and immediately explained, "Your Majesty, the move used by Princess Jing is called the Bewitching Step, which seems to be General Yu's unique skill."
"General Yu?" Upon hearing this, Mu Qiye was suddenly shocked, and the first thing that came to mind was Yu Changxiao, who had recently been sentenced to death.
Who is Yu Changxiao? Since the founding of the Northern You Kingdom ten years ago, he has followed the late emperor in his campaigns. All his achievements were earned with blood on the battlefield. It would not be an exaggeration to say that half of the Northern You Kingdom now belongs to the Yu family.
Looking back, across the entire court, the only person who could rival Regent Mu Feiyu's real power was Yu Changxiao. After all, he was the General Who Guards the North, appointed by the late emperor, commanding hundreds of thousands of iron cavalry and possessing unparalleled martial arts skills. If he really intended to rebel, he might have lost his throne long ago.
Thinking of this, Mu Qiye's expression suddenly changed. Back then, the Regent and Zhao Tingxuan, the Vice Minister of War, jointly submitted a memorial, saying that Yu Changxiao was protecting a traitor in the court and intended to rebel. Therefore, the ministers forced him to order the extermination of the entire Yu family.
"Wang Fu, go and investigate immediately whether there are any oversights in the Yu family's rebellion." After ordering the eunuch to leave, Mu Qiye immediately looked warily at Feng Jin, who was practicing swordplay with Mu Feiyu. If she really was Yu Changxiao's daughter, what should be done?
