Chapter Fifty-Six: Trouble Arises Within the Walls

Especially considering the terrible situation she's been in recently, Feng Jin slowly shifted her gaze to the small bridge in front of her, a hint of weariness appearing in her eyes: "It's not really an illness, it's just that ever since the prince found out I was pregnant, he's been extremely anxious and has practically imprisoned me. Now I can't even go to the Jici Hospital."

"You're pregnant?"

At this point, Hua Mancheng realized his loss of composure and quickly gathered his scattered thoughts. With his eyes fixed on Feng Jin's face, he forced himself to remain calm and smiled lightly, "Actually, Your Highness, you don't need to worry about this matter. Achen is only being so careful because he cares about you so much."

“I knew what he was thinking, but now I’m just sitting around in the manor all day, I’m practically a useless person.” Feng Jin held her chin in her hands and continued to talk to herself, “You know I’m a person who can’t sit still by nature. If this continues, I’ll be driven crazy sooner or later.”

Listening to Feng Jin's complaints, Hua Mancheng's handsome face unconsciously darkened. For a moment, he vaguely felt that Feng Jin seemed to have a shadow of his past self, both of them carrying a stubbornness and being equally outspoken.

"Your Highness, please relax and focus on your pregnancy. I will find time to inform Achen about this matter. As for the Jici Hospital, I will take good care of it for you."

Unconsciously, his tone became softer and more affectionate, and a gentle smile slowly bloomed on his handsome face.

"Hua Mancheng, thank you." Feng Jin suddenly turned to Hua Mancheng and laughed heartily: "It is a great honor for the Prince and me to have made friends with someone like you. It is a life well-lived."

Leaning slightly forward, slowly bending into a bow shape, Hua Mancheng's expression suddenly changed, and he bowed respectfully to Feng Jin, "Your Highness is too kind. All of this is simply the duty of a subordinate."

As soon as these words were spoken, an unusual atmosphere gradually enveloped them, and both of them fell silent involuntarily.

Gazing intently at the flowers and leaves wet with river water on the distant shore, Feng Jin's eyes flashed with a brilliant light: "Hua Mancheng, I'm thinking... after this child is born, I'd like him to become your apprentice. What do you think?"

With a clap of her hands, Hua Mancheng immediately exclaimed in surprise, "Excellent! Your Highness's suggestion is truly wonderful! To be the young prince's teacher is such an honor! I would be more than happy to accept!"

As soon as they finished speaking, Hua Mancheng and Feng Jin locked eyes and burst into laughter. Their silvery laughter startled the birds on the branches and echoed throughout the entire mansion.

At this moment, Mu Wange learned that Hua Mancheng was at the Jingwang Mansion and immediately rushed over on horseback. Feng Yao, as the mastermind behind the whole affair, seized the opportunity and followed closely behind to the mansion.

Feng Yao followed closely behind Mu Wange, and the two walked around most of the inner courtyard of the Prince's Mansion. When they finally arrived at Changcui Garden, the sounds of Hua Mancheng and Feng Jin laughing and talking loudly came from afar.

Following the sound, Feng Yao immediately saw Hua Mancheng and Feng Jin sitting face to face, laughing and talking loudly. Then, she turned her gaze to Mu Wannage and saw her expression suddenly turn cold. She couldn't help but cover her mouth and chuckle.

Feng Yao's eyes darted around, and she feigned surprise, exclaiming, "Hey? Princess, look! Isn't that Hua Mancheng and Princess Jing?"

Hearing this, Mu Wange's face turned even uglier. Without saying a word, she ran across the small bridge to the pavilion, glaring angrily at Hua Mancheng, and said, "Hua Mancheng, you are so ungrateful! I kindly rescued you, and you left without saying goodbye, coming here to chat and laugh with others. You really took my kindness for granted!"

Seeing that Mu Wange's misunderstanding with Hua Mancheng was deepening because of her, Feng Jin quickly stepped forward to explain, "Princess, you've really misunderstood. Actually, we..."

Before she could finish speaking, Mu Wange's scream came from the other end: "Shut up!"

"Feng Jin, I thought you were a good person before, and I even blindly believed your lies. You despicable and shameless slut, how dare you lay your hands on my people behind my back! Today I'm going to teach you a lesson!" With that, Mu Wange clenched her fist and was about to throw it at Feng Jin with all her might.

With his arm blocking Feng Jin's way, Hua Mancheng frowned, a deep frown forming between his brows, and glared at Mu Wange, saying, "Mu Wange, watch your mouth! This isn't a place for you to run wild!"

If Mu Wange dares to push her luck any further, he will definitely retaliate without hesitation. He has never been lenient with someone who crosses his bottom line.

Pointing her finger at Hua Mancheng, Mu Wange shouted almost in a fit of rage, "Hua Mancheng, let me tell you, anyone who dares to betray me, Mu Wange, will not have a good end!"

"Mu Wange, I also want to tell you something!" He suddenly stepped forward and caught Mu Wange's fingertips as she flung them at him. His icy lips spoke slowly and deliberately, "I, Hua Mancheng, would rather live a lonely life than ever have a single thought of affection for someone as morally corrupt as you. If you have any sense of shame, from today onwards, never provoke me again!"

A series of heartless words and a face so cold it was devoid of warmth were etched into Mu Wange's mind. In an instant, her world was completely overturned and collapsed.

"Fine, fine!" She tossed her robe sleeves to the ground, her gaze fixed on him, a bloodthirsty murderous intent flashing in her eyes. Suddenly, she cried out, "Hua Mancheng, I guarantee you will pay for everything you said today! From this moment on, I, Mu Wange, will never let you get away with this!"

Watching their argument escalate to the point of no return, Feng Jin was filled with anxiety. Just as she was thinking of going up to mediate, Feng Yao, who had been watching the scene unfold, suddenly stepped forward and intervened.

Taking graceful steps forward, Feng Yao feigned indignation and exclaimed, "Sister, how can you, a married woman, be involved with other men and fool around like this? Look how angry you've made the princess!"

Feng Jin glared at her irritably, then raised her almond-shaped eyes slightly, biting her lip and feigning indifference as she smiled: "Your Highness, are you genuinely concerned for your dear sister, or are you deliberately stirring up trouble, hoping for chaos in the world?"

“Good sister, the facts are right in front of us. I think anyone with eyes can see that, right?” Feng Yao raised her eyes slightly and glanced meaningfully at Mu Wange and Hua Mancheng. With ease, everyone present immediately understood the implied meaning.
