Chapter Four: The Substitute Princess (Part Two)

No sooner had Feng Qingyun left than Lingzhi, Feng Jin's personal maid, pushed open the door and entered.

Holding a basin of hot water, Lingzhi stepped into the room and saw Yu Qianqian lying motionless on the bed. She quickly put down the hot water, ran straight over, held Yu Qianqian's hand tightly, and cried uncontrollably.

"Young Miss, Young Miss... please wake up!"

Feng Yao stood straight at the door, waving a snow-white round fan in her hand. She glanced at Ling Zhi and said coldly with extreme impatience, "What are you yelling about? It's so noisy! Your young lady is beyond saving!"

Upon hearing the sound, Yu Qianqian slightly opened her eyes. Through her blurry vision, a strange face slowly appeared. She perked up, pursed her pale, chapped lips, and with great difficulty uttered two words: "Who is it…?"

"Young Miss, I am Lingzhi! Don't you remember me?" Seeing that Yu Qianqian was awake, Lingzhi quickly grabbed her hand and exclaimed excitedly.

Yu Qianqian's face, from her charm to her features, is exactly the same as Feng Jin's. Even someone as shrewd as Feng Qingyun mistook Yu Qianqian for his silly daughter. No wonder Ling Zhi had the same misconception about her.

Yu Qianqian opened her mouth, but didn't say a word. But then she heard that piercing voice again: "Feng Jin, you were clearly dead before. Now that you're suddenly doing this, I thought you'd come back from the dead."

Feng Jin... Why is that name again? Lately, for some reason, these people keep calling her Feng Jin. Yu Qianqian is starting to wonder if there's something wrong with her ears.

She turned her head sharply and quickly looked Feng Yao over. Then she shifted her gaze to the room's surroundings. What she saw was a dark and cramped room with yellowed walls and only a handful of old and simple furnishings.

Judging from this woman's clothes and appearance, she should at least be the daughter of a wealthy family. Logically speaking, shouldn't guests be entertained in the guest room? On our first meeting, I've invited her into the woodshed. How unwelcome am I?

Yu Qianqian was helped to her feet by Lingzhi. As soon as she looked up, she saw that alluring woman waving a round fan and walking straight toward her. Suddenly, she had a bad feeling.

Yu Qianqian glanced at Feng Yao casually, her eyes darting around erratically. She forced a smile and asked, "Beautiful lady, may I ask your name? And where is this place? Why am I here?"

As soon as she finished speaking, Feng Yao took another step forward, raised her eyebrows slightly, and said with a half-smile, "Feng Jin, I didn't expect you to be so unlucky. You just escaped death, but you're about to go to Prince Jing's mansion to live a life of widowhood. If I were you, I would just kill myself."

Just as she expected, this woman who called her by the wrong name in a sarcastic tone upon meeting her was definitely not a kind person.

Watching Feng Yao hurl insults at her silently, Yu Qianqian remained completely unmoved, only remembering the two familiar yet unfamiliar names: Feng Jin and Mu Beichen.

Based on this woman's words, it seems she and Feng Jin are sisters, but rather they are more like mortal enemies.

Seeing that she didn't reply for a long time, Feng Yao thought that she was deliberately giving her a hard time, so she added sarcastically, "Feng Jin, why do you seem even more confused than before when you woke up this time? Is it because the Emperor thinks you are a fool and plans to break off the engagement, so you chose to give up and be reckless?"

"Miss, are you familiar with delusional disorder?"

Feng Yao paused for a moment, then immediately fell silent.

Feng Jin, who was born timid, never dared to speak loudly whenever she saw her. But today, when Feng Jin opened her eyes, she was like a completely different person. It was really strange.

"There's one more thing I'm curious about: have you ever been beaten?"

Yu Qianqian looked at Feng Yao with a smile in her eyes, deliberately speaking in a slow and unhurried manner.

"Feng Jin, you bitch!" Feng Yao shouted loudly as she lunged at Yu Qianqian, her claws outstretched, as if she wanted to devour her alive. "You dare to talk to me like that? You're tired of living, aren't you?"

Seeing Feng Yao lunge at her with both hands and feet, Yu Qianqian suddenly raised her hand and easily grabbed the other's wrist. She looked around calmly, pretending to be nonchalant. Only Feng Yao herself knew how strong her grip was beneath that calm expression.

Lingzhi thought that Yu Qianqian did this just to stop her from being slapped, but in reality, Feng Yao's wrists were actually broken by her.

"..."

Seeing the pained expression on Feng Yao's face, Yu Qianqian finally released her grip. She slightly raised her lips and smiled disdainfully: "Miss, if you don't want to continue to suffer, then shut your mouth, understand?"

Seeing her wrists bruised and red from Yu Qianqian's pinching, Feng Yao's face darkened. When she met Yu Qianqian's gaze, she instinctively took a few steps back.

"Let me tell you, Feng Jin, don't think that just because you're putting on an act, I'll let you off easily. If you ever dare to harbor any disloyal thoughts towards the Emperor again, don't blame your sister for turning against you!" After saying this, Feng Yao immediately fled the room as if escaping.

Since arriving in Kyoto, she has always been called by the wrong name, and there must be a reason for it.

Yu Qianqian paused, lifted her chin with her fingertips, and unconsciously murmured to herself, "Just who is this Feng Jin...?"
