Chapter Ninety-Five: A Passion That Burns to the Bone

After returning to the Crown Prince's residence from the wedding, Yu Qianqian fell seriously ill that very day and remained unconscious for three whole days. In her delirium, she kept muttering incomprehensible things in her sleep.

Su Yu rested his chin on his hands, staring intently at the woman on the bed for a long time without blinking. After thinking for a while, he brought his face close to Yu Qianqian's ear and chuckled in a mocking manner: "Ah Jin, little Jin Jin, if you don't wake up soon, I'm going to sleep with you."

After a long pause, Yu Qianqian did not respond to him at all.

Subsequently, Su Yu summoned almost all the imperial physicians in the palace, and everyone in the mansion busied themselves around the bedside, but in the end, there was still no progress.

"Ah Jin, I'm going crazy waiting for you! Please wake up!" Su Yu looked at Yu Qianqian's unconscious state with pleading eyes, crying and howling pitifully and helplessly.

He thought Yu Qianqian would remain unconscious indefinitely, especially considering that the royal family would find another woman to replace the mistress of the Eastern Palace. He even considered packing up and taking her away from the Crown Prince's residence.

Three days later, when Su Yu stepped into the palace room, he was surprised to find that Yu Qianqian had woken up. She was lying on the ground, crying loudly. Her emotionally out-of-control appearance shocked him. This was the first time he had ever seen Yu Qianqian cry so desperately.

"Ah Jin..." Su Yu was stunned for a long time before he came to his senses. He rushed forward to help her, but before he could even touch Yu Qianqian, he met her eyes filled with overwhelming anger. He was so frightened that he froze, his hands still raised in mid-air.

At this moment, Yu Qianqian's scarlet eyes and flushed face had completely changed her appearance, making her so unfamiliar that the man in front of her could no longer get an inch closer to her.

She grabbed the strands of hair on her head with both hands, wishing she could pluck them out of her head.

She still remembered when she first stepped into the Jing Prince's mansion, she was used as bait by Mu Beichen to lure Mu Feiyu into the trap step by step, but she was betrayed by him time and time again, until she faced a life-or-death situation, when he ruthlessly abandoned her for Su Ruan...

At this moment, all the unbearable memories flooded into my mind, one after another.

She scrambled over, grabbed Su Yu's robe, looked up at him, and burst into tears, her eyes red. A beastly roar escaped her lips as she screamed, "Su Yu, why did you save me? Why didn't you let me die!"

Su Yu stared intently at her suddenly changed expression, and instantly realized what was going on. His face darkened, and he knelt down on one knee with her, cautiously probing, "Have you remembered everything?"

After a long while, a gentle breeze drifted in through the half-open window, causing the red silk curtains to flutter and dance. Unbeknownst to them, the crying outside the curtains finally ceased.

“Ever since I fell off the cliff and committed suicide, you have brought me here and painstakingly treated me. I am very grateful to you.” Yu Qianqian slowly raised her head, her eyes still filled with anger as she looked directly at Su Yu: “But… for so long, you have been hiding the truth from me while I was suffering from amnesia, gradually luring me into becoming your puppet. Su Yu, what are your true intentions in deceiving me so meticulously?”

Her scarlet eyes were fixed on him, as if she wanted to see through his thoughts in that instant.

Those cold, emotionless voices clenched Su Yu's heart. Looking at Yu Qianqian, her eyes reddened slightly. She had finally managed to save her from the brink of death, finally managed to open her heart, and finally managed to get her to agree to marry her. All the things she had worked so hard for seemed to be about to vanish in this moment.

Su Yu paused slightly, suppressing the intense pain rising in her heart, and whispered to comfort her, "I was just afraid you would get hurt, so I was determined to protect you..."

"I don't need your protection at all! I would rather have fallen off a cliff and died than live like this, neither human nor ghost!" Yu Qianqian looked back at Su Yu coldly. Thinking about how she had been toyed with between those two men, she suddenly became furious and, without hesitation, straightened up to leave.

"Ah Jin...don't go!" Su Yu rushed forward and blocked the door of the main hall with his arm, fearing that she would rush out of the room and disappear forever.

He approached her step by step, placing his hands on her shoulders. Su Yu gazed at the increasingly unfamiliar face before him, his eyes involuntarily reddening. When he called out that name, his voice trembled uncontrollably.

Although he knew that Yu Qianqian would eventually regain her memories, everything that had happened between them since Mu Beichen appeared was destined to vanish. No matter how hard he tried or how much he did, it was far less than a single word or a subtle change in Mu Beichen's expression...

However, before anticipating all the possible events, he still chose to give his heart without reservation, accompanying her through every lonely night and using all his passion to help her resolve her inner conflicts.

The reason he became so infatuated with Yu Qianqian might be because of their unexpected first encounter in the capital of Beiyou Kingdom, or perhaps it was seeing her unique dance at the palace banquet, or her disguising herself as a man and flirting with him in public at Xingyue Tower...
