Chapter Seventy Farewell

Back at Feiyu Academy, the distraught Mu Beichen ignored all matters, big and small, and spent his days in a drunken stupor. When Hua Mancheng saw him again, he was like a completely different person. He was no longer the imposing figure he once was. His clothes were dirty and disheveled, his face was ashen, and his hair was tangled and messy, exuding an aura of death.

"Achen! What happened to you?" Hua Mancheng rushed over anxiously and supported Mu Beichen's swaying body with both hands. He was immediately shocked: "Where is the Princess? Why isn't she here to take care of you?"

When he mentioned the princess, Mu Beichen began to chuckle coldly, then his laughter turned to tears: "I no longer have a princess... She said she would sever all ties with me from now on, that we would have nothing to do with each other..."

Hua Mancheng carefully examined his mentally unstable appearance and had already guessed that this matter was not simple. Considering his current state of being on the verge of death, she could not get any information out of him, so she had no choice but to call Su Ruan over to take care of Mu Beichen.

"Princess Mingxia, do you know what has happened between Achen and the Princess Consort recently?" As soon as Su Ruan arrived, Hua Mancheng rushed over to ask the reason, but before he could finish speaking, he was immediately met with a cold look from Su Ruan.

Su Ruan narrowed her long, phoenix-shaped eyes slightly, turned her face to him with a forced smile, and slowly said, "Young Master Cheng, you've really asked the wrong person. Although I am a princess, how could I, an outsider, possibly know about the affairs between the prince and the princess?"

Her seemingly casual remark was enough to shut Hua Mancheng up. He didn't say anything more, but just stared blankly at Mu Beichen's drunken state. Before long, he silently left the place.

Subsequently, having no other choice, he had to enlist the help of some friends in the martial arts world. In order to find Feng Jin's whereabouts, he turned the entire Northern You Kingdom upside down, and finally found her near the northern border.

Feng Jin believed that this place was a thousand miles away from the capital city. Even if Mu Beichen wanted to come and find her, he wouldn't be able to find her so far away, because from the moment she decided to leave the Jing Prince's Mansion, she never thought of leaving herself a way back.

"Your Highness..." Hua Mancheng saw Feng Jin in the distance. She was leaning against the cliff on the opposite side, resting with her eyes closed. A cry of surprise rang out, instantly startling the flock of birds that were perched on the peach tree branches by the waterfall.

"Hua Mancheng? What brings you here?" Feng Jin's eyes widened suddenly, and she leaped to the ground, rushing to greet him.

Hua Mancheng glanced around warily, then composed himself and focused his gaze on Feng Jin. He spoke quickly, "This kind of desolate place is often frequented by wild beasts and is not suitable for human habitation. For now, Your Highness, you should leave this place with me as soon as possible."

Feng Jin forced a smile, but there was no smile on her face: "Even if it's a flood or a ferocious beast, or a dragon's den or a tiger's lair, as long as we can get away from the capital, it doesn't matter where we go."

Upon hearing this, Hua Mancheng lowered his starry eyes, his handsome, angular face immediately losing its color. He sighed in a deep voice, "Although I don't know what exactly happened between you and him, even if Your Highness is feeling very uncomfortable, you don't need to risk your life for a moment..."

Before they could finish speaking, a sound like a howling wind suddenly rang out from not far away, sending a chill down their spines.

As they turned their heads in unison, they saw a huge white tiger peeking out from the bushes on the opposite side. At that moment, the two sides were only inches apart!

"Your Highness, be careful!" Hua Mancheng exclaimed, shielding Feng Jin behind her and quickly retreating.

Before the two of them could retreat a few steps, the white tiger suddenly leaped out of the bushes and charged straight ahead!

Hua Mancheng subtly found the Shadowless Sword on his back. In an instant, the sword was drawn from its sheath. He leaped up directly in the direction the white tiger was pouncing, the blade shooting straight ahead and piercing through. A visible sharpness grazed past the white tiger's claws!

Upon witnessing that terrifying moment, Feng Jin stood frozen in place, speechless, still shaken. A thunderous roar reached her ears, and she saw the white tiger baring its fangs and claws as it pounced towards her!

She suddenly widened her eyes, helplessly watching the huge white shadow rush past her line of sight, its gaping maw about to swallow her. At this critical moment, Hua Mancheng suddenly flew over, his sword striking the white tiger's neck. Blood spurted out like a pillar, splattering all over his face!

"Awoo..." Another long howl pierced the air, and the white tiger fell down as well.

"Your Highness, how are you feeling? Are you hurt anywhere?" Hua Mancheng turned around with his sword in hand, his gaze fixed on Feng Jin, who was curled up on the ground trembling, and walked straight over to her.

With Hua Mancheng's help, she gradually came to her senses, let out a soft breath, and whispered, "I'm alright now."

With a quick glance around, Hua Mancheng said to her, "In my opinion, there should be other ferocious beasts around here. Your Highness, for safety's sake, we should leave here as soon as possible."

Feng Jin nodded immediately in response.

The two mounted a horse together, and in an instant, they spurred it on and galloped away from the wilderness.

Hua Mancheng held a whip in one hand and waved the reins with the other. He watched Feng Jin's back and suddenly asked, "Has the Princess decided where she is going next?"

She sat upright in front of Hua Mancheng, her eyes fixed straight ahead, and slowly opened her mouth: "Let's go to the North City. I want to go there to see an old friend."

Immediately following, a horse's neigh pierced the air, and the two began to gallop forward again, heading straight for the main street of the north city.

This area used to be the most prosperous part of the northern part of the city, and today, everything remains the same.

Feng Jin and Hua Mancheng walked side by side through the bustling crowd, surrounded by a cacophony of voices. Looking out over the long ancient street, they saw restaurants, teahouses, pawnshops, and all sorts of small workshops, with a constant stream of people coming and going.

Staring intently at everything before her, she felt as if she had returned to that very beginning, when she secretly went to taverns to drink behind her father's back, disguised herself as a man to sneak into brothels for thrills, and drank the innkeeper under the table in order to avoid paying for her drinks...

At this moment, she couldn't figure out whether she should be Yu Qianqian or Feng Jin.
