Su Yu covered her mouth and nose and took advantage of the chaos to walk over people's heads one by one.
He glanced down and saw the bandits who had been so formidable just moments before lying on the ground. Without pausing, he walked straight to the opposite side, picked up the woman who looked sleepy from the ground, and then dashed out of the room.
Having just escaped the dilapidated temple, Su Yu, holding the sleepy little woman in his arms, couldn't help but smile. This Empress had escaped from the palace, and now he had truly become her personal bodyguard. From eating and drinking to relieving herself and saving her life in emergencies, he had done everything he should and shouldn't have done.
After tossing and turning for most of the night, his body finally gave out, and his hands holding Yu Qianqian trembled slightly.
Out of desperation, he endured the pain in his arm and whispered mischievously in Yu Qianqian's ear, "Your Majesty, would you like to have breakfast?"
"Oh dear!" Yu Qianqian exclaimed, and with a quick somersault, she jumped out of Su Yu's arms.
She rubbed her eyes, then stepped closer to take a better look. She slowly recognized the person in front of her, and unconsciously thought about her embarrassing moment, giving an awkward smile: "The weather's nice today, hehe..."
Su Yu saw through her little scheme at a glance, but too lazy to expose her, she casually walked away carrying Little Snowball by one ear.
Staring longingly at his arrogant back, Yu Qianqian suddenly snapped out of her daze and ran after him, yelling, "Hey! If you want to go, go by yourself, don't kidnap my little snowball!"
At noon, the sun blazed fiercely.
The two men, carrying a fox, walked slowly and steadily down a country path.
Walking along the winding path, a gentle breeze brushes past the red flowers and green willows, and feels especially comfortable on the face.
Looking closely at the rural scenery before her, Yu Qianqian felt a sense of warmth and fulfillment she had never experienced before in her life.
Su Yu walked alongside her on the road, looking ahead and casually asked, "Qianqian, have you decided where you're going next?"
"I want to go home." Yu Qianqian's face darkened slightly, she sighed softly, and her tone suddenly became very low: "After wandering for so many years, my parents must miss me."
“Okay, once this storm passes, I’ll go to Beicheng with you.” Su Yu replied without hesitation, her tone calm with a slight smile.
She looked at him, slightly startled, then suddenly stopped, lowered her head, and said very seriously, "Su Yu... thank you."
"What are you thanking me for?" Su Yu asked, turning her head to look at her with a puzzled expression as she stopped.
Taking advantage of a moment when Su Yu wasn't paying attention, Little Snowball struggled and managed to break free, then leaped up and landed on Yu Qianqian's shoulder.
She yanked it down, holding the little snowball in her hands, her eyes still clear and bright as she looked at Su Yu. "Thank you for taking such good care of me all this time. In this world, apart from my father and mother, no one has ever treated me so selflessly. If I could do it all over again, I would seriously consider our relationship."
At this moment, Su Yu, listening to Yu Qianqian's gentle words to him, was unconsciously lost in thought. Facing her lingering gaze, his handsome face flushed slightly.
After a long while, he did not respond. He was just pondering Yu Qianqian's attitude towards him over and over again. He was so lost in thought that he did not come back to his senses for a long time.
Seeing her so gentle and tender for the first time, Su Yu was at a loss for words. He felt that Yu Qianqian's sudden change of attitude meant that he still had at least a glimmer of hope.
