Gu Chongjin, Ling Xun, and Jiu Tian witnessed the beginning of the Yin Jin'an era.
Emperor Yangsheng was removed from the dragon throne, the abdication edict was read, and Yin Jin'an announced his ascension to the throne, changing the country's name to Qi and the era name to Aotian. The year was the first year of the Great Qi Dynasty.
On that day, the official letter was delivered to all countries of the Tian Sheng Continent.
Yin Jin'an did not rush to bestow rewards or punishments. Instead, after announcing the country's name and era name, he received Ling Xun, Gu Chongjin, and other members of the Yulong Kingdom's delegation.
"The State of Qi was established hastily, and we were unable to properly entertain the envoys. We apologize for the neglect." Yin Jin'an spoke in a very polite and official manner.
Ling Xun looked at the two figures, one large and one small, still wearing masks, and, following official etiquette, expressed the goodwill of the two emperors of Yulong Kingdom, declaring that Yulong Kingdom and Qi Kingdom would be on friendly terms forever.
"My esteemed ministers, the Prime Minister of Yulong Kingdom and the Duke of Wei are both here. You may consult them on strategies for governing the country."
Yin Jin'an said, "This is my first time being emperor. I need to figure out how to be a wise and good emperor. If I don't know something, I will learn it. If I don't understand something, I will ask. If others are better than me, I will humbly ask for their advice. I will not deceive myself or pretend to be something I'm not and ruin the country."
Wang Can and Gu Bahuang, one a scholar and the other a warrior, were both die-hard fans, nodding enthusiastically. His Majesty's reign title was Aotian, but he was actually very humble, studious, and pragmatic.
As soon as he said that, Wang Can immediately took the lead and sat down next to Ling Xun, humbly asking how Ming Xiang had mastered it.
Gu Chongjin sat next to Gu Bahuang and a group of people from the Ministry of War, eagerly studying the strategies of famous generals.
Some people wanted Xu Li's iron grenades and asked him if he could give them one or two as a gift.
Xu Li replied invariably, "No, these are weapons strictly controlled by the state. Any unused ones must be taken back."
He didn't want to talk to anyone right now, so he stared intently at Yin Jin'an and Jiu Tian.
The two people and the two people in his mind were constantly playing a game of "I came, I left, I came again, I left again".
He couldn't tell whether the person in front of him was Yin Jin'an or Emperor Aotian.
His heart nearly jumped out of his chest when he heard that the Emperor Aotian's real name was Xiao Jin'an.
He couldn't help but slowly walk over, but Xiahou Yan stopped him: "General Xu, please stand further away when you have something to say, His Majesty can hear you."
"Are you the Second Master?" he murmured.
Yin Jin'an replied ambiguously, "Yes, in my heart!"
Jiutian looked at him and then at Yin Jin'an, and said in a childish voice, "He is my second uncle."
Why do you call him "Second Uncle"?
"Because he's my second uncle!"
Xu Li thought the child wasn't very bright, so he asked again, puzzled, "Why do you call him 'Second Uncle'? Isn't he the eldest prince of Emperor Yangsheng?"
"Yes, but he's my second uncle." She was quite proud of herself and kindly explained, "My master told me to call him second uncle."
Who is your master?
Even if I told you, you wouldn't know him.
"Who are you?"
"I am Jiutian."
"What? You're Jiutian?" Xu Li asked eagerly. "How old are you?"
Five years old.
Xu Li felt an emotion bursting forth, impossible to suppress, and asked, "Can you take off your mask and let me see you?"
Thinking of her second uncle's refusal to reveal his mask even in death, Jiutian said, "I won't let you see!"
"Oh~" Xu Li looked at her again and again, unwilling to give up.
Jiutian was still dressed in the old clothes of a little Taoist priest, and even with a mask on, it was impossible to tell whether he was a boy or a girl.
"Why are you staring at me like that? Is there something you want to ask me?"
"Are you a boy or a girl?" Xu Li couldn't help but ask.
Jiutian tilted his head and said, "Guess!"
Xu Li paused for a moment, wondering if he could exchange a thunderbolt for one of her questions.
However, considering that the iron-made lightning was a top-secret weapon, and that Emperor Aotian knew how to make lightning, if it were given to him, he might be able to dismantle it and learn how to use it.
Xu Li turned around and went back to his seat. He watched as Ling Xun and Gu Chongjin were surrounded by people asking questions, and he felt very anxious.
He walked up to Ling Xun and said, "Prime Minister Ling, I have something to discuss with you."
Ling Xun stood up, walked to his side, and quietly asked, "What is it?"
"That little boy's name is Jiutian, and he's exactly five years old."
"What?" Ling Xun's eyes widened in disbelief. "Nine Heavens? Are you sure?"
“I just asked him, and he said his name is Jiutian and he is five years old.”
Ling Xun's heart was pounding in his chest.
Emperor An and Emperor Chen have a little princess, who has been bestowed the title of Princess of the Nine Heavens, and she is exactly five years old this year!
They disappeared after only six months, supposedly sent to a sacred mountain to learn skills, and there has been no news of them since.
Emperor An has been thinking about this all these years, but he hasn't smiled at all.
If this child is indeed the Nine Heavens Princess, then there are far too many mysteries surrounding this.
He said to Xu Li, "Stop testing us. Stay calm. We need to get back as soon as possible and report to His Majesty immediately."
He thought that His Majesty must not know that Princess Jiutian was in Qi (Western Xia).
Yin Jin'an has already become emperor; he can't escape.
This young Taoist boy named Jiutian has such a good relationship with Emperor Aotian, so he's not in any immediate danger. They should hurry back and report to Emperor An and Emperor Chen to see how they handle the situation.
I wish I could see their faces.
After the reception of the envoys concluded, Ling Xun met with Yin Jin'an alone, promising to assist Qi in stabilizing its domestic situation as soon as possible, opening up trade cooperation within the country, and providing preferential policies for all of them.
He also promised to give the State of Qi 50,000 shi of grain to help it get through the lean season in spring, on the condition that he see his or Jiutian's true face.
Before Yin Jin'an could say anything, Jiu Tian said from the side, "I won't even show my second uncle's face! If you want to see my face, bring me 500,000 shi of grain."
Ling Xun shook his head: "Five hundred thousand shi is too much, I cannot make that decision."
