When Yin Jin'an saw her rushing towards him, he quickly hugged her and said sternly, "Why did you faint again?"
Feeling guilty, Jiutian flicked his index finger, blinked his eyes, and said in a wronged tone, "Jiutian doesn't know either."
"You really don't know?"
"Um."
"Jiutian, which mountain did you come from?" Yin Jin'an raised a corner of her lips, and Jiutian immediately felt scared.
Oh no, it seems my second uncle is angry.
Why is Second Uncle asking this?
"I'll take you back."
"No..." Jiutian suddenly became anxious, "Our misfortune hasn't been resolved yet!"
“Go back and find your master to help you through this ordeal, or find someone else to help you through this ordeal. I don’t need you here anymore.”
"Wah..." Jiutian's big eyes were filled with tears, "Second Uncle is going to send Jiutian away again!"
"Then you must tell me the truth: why did you fall into a coma? Why do I have to curse God every time you wake up?"
Jiutian stared in disbelief: "You've cursed the heavens again?"
"Yeah, you'll wake up after you've cursed God."
"Second Uncle, I don't know why I fainted. Anyway, I put a talisman on you and then I fell asleep."
Yin Jin'an asked in surprise, "But you never seem to get dizzy when you draw talismans, do you?"
"Yes, I don't know why either."
Jiutian naturally knew that Yu Chanzi had said that drawing blood talismans would cause physical harm, but given his second uncle's condition, he couldn't do without drawing blood talismans.
But he didn't tell his second uncle the truth for nine days!
"Second Uncle, my master said that as long as there is no problem with the body, being in a coma is a deep rest, and the body is starting its self-healing process. It is the body quietly repairing itself."
Jiutian thought he was so clever, how could he have come up with such a good excuse!
It seems that my senior brother once lied when he fainted while saving someone, saying that being unconscious was not an illness, but a period of rest.
It was her senior who set an example, not that she learned to lie on her own!
Yin Jin'an was skeptical, but he knew nothing about his transformation that night.
If Jiutian didn't want to talk about it, he wouldn't ask.
However, his gratitude towards Jiutian deepened even further.
Unlike last month, this time when he woke up, he felt no discomfort. Apart from being confined for a long time, he was perfectly fine.
"are you hungry?"
"I'm hungry." Jiutian rubbed his stomach; he was really hungry.
Yin Jin'an said, "It's snowing heavily outside. Let's eat something before we go down the mountain."
There are still quite a few mushrooms left where they picked mushrooms yesterday. Yin Jin'an said, "You wait here, I'll go pick some more mushrooms."
He took the hidden wood-chopping knife and went out.
Yin Jin'an returned after a while, carrying two thick sections of green bamboo.
"Jiutian, I'll make you bamboo rice today."
With only one small pot and the cold weather, cooking was inconvenient, so they made bamboo rice.
He used a machete to smooth out the burrs at both ends of the bamboo tube, cut a rectangular lid in the middle, and washed the inside of the bamboo tube clean with snow.
I put rice, diced salted cured pork, a few diced mushrooms, and some soaked broad beans that I brought yesterday in the pot. I added a little soy sauce and water, then put the lid on.
They built a kiln on the ground using stones and clods of earth.
Jiutian had no idea how to build an earthen kiln. He watched as Yin Jin'an followed the terrain, dug a sloping path in the ground, and built an earthen kiln on top of it using clods of earth.
Find a pile of dry branches, light a fire under the earthen kiln, and burn the kiln until it is red-hot, then turn off the fire.
A large pile of charcoal has already been burned below.
The two men heated the earthen kiln while warming themselves by the fire until the earthen blocks were red-hot. They then opened the top of the kiln, threw in a few pieces of taro, and put in the bamboo tube filled with ingredients.
Shovel on a thick layer of charcoal, and finally break up and cover the red-hot clods of earth.
They then covered it with a lot of soil from the side.
Jiutian sat beside them, watching with curiosity, and asked Yin Jin'an, "Can we eat this?"
"Wait a moment, it can be eaten when it's cooked."
The earthen kiln was filled with earthen mushrooms and bamboo rice. Yin Jin'an cooked a pot of mushroom chicken soup with the pheasant that was left over from yesterday and mushrooms.
The chicken soup is ready, and the bamboo rice is cooked.
Bamboo rice is not only fragrant with rice, but also with the fresh scent of bamboo. The rice grains are separate, the beans are very sticky, and the diced salted pork is the finishing touch.
Jiutian ate with a small wooden spoon, taking a bite of rice and a sip of chicken soup, and Mei kept giving him a thumbs up: "Second Uncle, the food you cooked is so delicious."
Jiutian didn't eat much; in Yin Jin'an's opinion, Jiutian's appetite was about the same as a cat's.
He finished his entire bowl of rice and then went to work on the kiln.
The soft, fragrant, and sweet aroma of the Tuzhidan filled the entire mountain god temple.
Jiutian used all the words of praise he knew to compliment Yin Jin'an's cooking.
Yin Jin'an said, "Stop praising it, eat it while it's hot. The snow is too heavy now, let's wait until the snow subsides a bit before we leave."
He threw the empty bamboo tube into the mountain god temple, covered his face, and went out to pick up all the yellow mushrooms.
At Shenshi (3-5 PM), the snow stopped, and birds, rabbits, and deer all came out to forage for food.
He drew his bow and shot an arrow, killing a deer.
The red deer was taller than Jiutian and very fat; I lifted it and estimated it weighed about 300 jin (150 kg).
He was overjoyed. He dragged the deer back to the mountain god's temple, put the mushrooms and the deer on the horse's back, let Jiutian sit on the saddle, draped the cloak over her, and led the horse down the mountain.
He wanted to scout the route himself to prevent the horse from stumbling and falling off the cliff.
The snow had accumulated to a considerable thickness, but because it hadn't melted and no one was walking on it, it wasn't particularly slippery.
He led the way with a stick in his hand and a bow and arrows on his back. They didn't arrive in the county town until dusk.
There is an entrance fee to enter the city, which is two coins per person.
Instead of returning to Longmen Town, the two found an inn to stay at and sold the deer and mushrooms to a restaurant.
