24. Full of twists and turns
I never imagined that meeting my older brother again would be so... well, awkward.
That once arrogant older brother, the older brother who used to dote on me, the older brother who used to curse heaven, earth, and even our ancestors, now looks like a weak, submissive wife, slumped in that man's arms. It seems he's the culprit behind my brother leaving home and disappearing for eleven years.
"I'm sorry to have kidnapped you, but Yan's illness can't be left untreated. Please help him get rid of those poisons." He wore a ghost-skin mask. The mask, with its ambiguous smile, sent chills down one's spine.
"Sure, but I have one condition," I said dismissively.
"Speaking."
"I want you to suffer unbearable pain for three days. Drinking my blood will prove your loyalty." I chuckled as I handed over the bitter wine mixed with my blood.
"Why?" My brother stared at me, bewildered. He was heartbroken that he hadn't recognized me.
"I'm happy," I said casually.
"Ran, don't drink it! What if it's poison?" My brother said, tears welling in his eyes. Such a grown man, yet he made such a disgusting face. A chill ran down my spine. I almost threw up.
“Young Master Fei Wu, a promise is a promise, and you will never go back on it. I'll drink it.” With that, he drank it down. Then he suddenly coughed.
"What did you give him to drink?" my brother glared at me. Looking at me, I could vaguely see that he wasn't wearing a shirt. It seemed that when I arrived, they had just finished their business, or were in the process of doing so.
"He took an aphrodisiac," I said frankly. "And it's highly potent. If he doesn't have sex with you, he'll die of fume from all seven orifices. Hurry up, don't waste time."
"You pervert!" (Actually, the word "pervert" didn't exist back then, right? Oh well, just bear with it. Don't nitpick.) The older brother, with red eyes, pounded on his back while casting a vicious glare at him.
"Hmph! He kidnapped you for eleven years. I'd be a man to not avenge this. Brother, stop arguing. I'm only thinking about your happiness."
"Fei'er." The older brother suddenly widened his eyes. "It's you?"
"Besides, I've never seen two men do this before. Consider it an early education, right, brother? With me here, neither of us will feel embarrassed." I pressed on.
"Fei'er, is it really you? How did you become Young Master Fei Wu?"
"Brother, the medicine is taking effect, hurry up!" I urged.
"You little brat, answer me!" My brother roared in fury. He put on his coat, walked over, and grabbed me by the collar as easily as if I were a little rabbit.
"You two know each other?" The guy's eyes were bloodshot, and his voice was hoarse.
"Brother, you didn't even recognize me. That makes me so sad." I said this on purpose, looking at him pitifully.
"The antidote!" My brother slapped me on the butt. "Hurry up, or I'll kill you."
"There really is no antidote," I said cautiously.
"you!"
"Brother, hurry up, he can't hold on much longer." I winked.
"I'll settle the score with you after I'm done. Don't you dare run away. It's been so long since I spanked you, you've forgotten who you are!" My brother grumbled, throwing me out of the house and slamming the door shut. Outside, a group of people, terrified, were kneeling on the ground, trembling.
"I'm hungry, I want to eat steamed buns," I said to one of the leaders.
Then a whole bunch of them collapsed.
I ate the steamed buns, took a nap, ate more steamed buns, took another nap, then ate more steamed buns, and went back to sleep. By the time my brother called me again, I had completely forgotten what year it was.
"Come here!" The older brother seemed very angry.
"Brother." I obediently sat down next to him.
"The poison in my body has been cured." He said it with a hint of disdain.
"Yes." I patted my chest.
"And what about his?" the older brother asked, pointing to the ghost mask beside him. The ghost mask leisurely sipped his tea, seemingly quite pleased. It appeared he'd been having a very exciting nightlife these past few days.
“That was just a regular aphrodisiac,” I replied respectfully. “However…”
"But?" My brother swung his hand and grabbed me by the collar again.
"I downloaded some other things."
"Hmm?" My brother's angry face drew closer and closer; if I said something carelessly, he might bite my nose off.
“If he dares to change his mind about my brother, he will slowly decay and die.” I laughed, but my brother shivered.
"Fei'er, when did you become like this?"
"I'm doing this for my elder brother's sake. Today's Fei'er is Young Master Fei Wu, a man who has seen much of the world and is naturally taking precautions." I smiled at the masked man. He looked at us.
"I never imagined that Young Master Fei Wu was Fei Yan's younger brother." His icy voice rang out. "I thought you were dead."
"Dead?" The brother frowned. "What are you hiding from me now?"
"It's nothing, brother. I was kicked out of the house by my father and then taken in by the Poison Prince. Now that the Poison Prince is dead, I've been wandering around aimlessly. I just happened to run into you, brother, and this has fulfilled a long-held wish of mine," I said calmly.
"How is things at home? I haven't been back for so many years, I doubt Dad will forgive me." The eldest brother sighed.
"Fine, if you don't want to forgive me. Fei Yu got married, all my wishes have come true, that's great," I continued.
"Fei'er, haven't you ever thought about yourself?" My older brother looked at me.
"Yes, there are." I chuckled.
"What?"
"Eat the best steamed buns in the world."
-_-||||, the older brother's face was full of black lines. "Fei'er?"
"Brother, my second brother and the others don't know my true identity, because such an identity is bound to bring trouble. I'll take my leave now. Take care, brother."
"Fei'er, don't stay a little longer." My brother looked at me.
"No. The Ghost Mansion is very powerful, but there are many people after me. Brother, I will take good care of myself." I turned to the ghost mask. "And you, remember my words, if you treat my brother badly, you will rot and die. I mean what I say."
The Ghost Palace is far on the frontier, very close to the Valley of Farewell and the Demonic Sect. Actually, it's also very close to where my master is. It's a crisp autumn day. I yawned.
A group of people approached from afar, all on horseback, clad in black cloaks, looking somewhat terrifying. But when I saw the person they were holding, bound tightly, I gasped in shock.
"Pity?" The person with martial arts skills had sharp ears and immediately turned around, rushing over.
I sneered as I watched them press my acupoints and tie me up. Since I'm here, I might as well make the best of it. Pity, to save you, I'd brave even the most dangerous places. Thinking this, my consciousness gradually blurred. It wasn't actually because they pressed my acupoints, but because I genuinely wanted to sleep. Amidst the swaying and bouncing, I slept incredibly soundly, even doubting if I was snoring.
