Chapter 71 Castile (Twenty-Two) Solo...

Chapter 71 Castile (Twenty-Two) Solo...

"Good boy." Xu Lingzhao touched his face, then pulled the Omega back into her arms, whispering about what had happened that day. Chu Jing nestled close to her, listening intently, the bittersweet feeling in his heart replaced by happiness, and drowsiness gradually crept in.

As Xu Lingzhao listened to his breathing gradually become steady, he curled up in her arms like a kitten, and a faint smile appeared on her face.

To love someone.

It means wanting to see him all the time, caring about his feelings, and seriously reflecting on whether you have done anything to hurt him.

The next morning, Xu Lingzhao opened her eyes and felt a pair of hands binding her waist, as if afraid that she would leave at any moment. Looking down, she saw that the Omega had woken up early and was looking at her with those bright, doe-like eyes.

"You're up so early? Did you sleep well last night?" The Alpha's voice was hoarse as she smiled and gave her a good morning kiss.

“With you here, of course I can sleep well.” He nuzzled her chin with his fluffy head and continued, “Are you going back to the Knights today?”

"Yes... wait for me to come home tonight, and eat well, okay?"

"I want to wait for you."

"No, you need to take good care of your injuries." Xu Lingzhao said earnestly, his gaze fixed on his face. "I feel that herb was very effective. The wounds on my face have almost healed, and there are no scars left."

"Really?"

"Of course it's true." Xu Lingzhao reached out and handed the mirror on the bedside table to Chu Jingze. He looked at himself carefully in the mirror, his eyes flashing with surprise. He threw the mirror on the bed and excitedly wrapped his arms around her neck. "My skin feels even better than before!"

But soon, he changed the subject, his eyes narrowed slightly, and he turned his face slightly to look at her out of the corner of his eye, "Even if things don't work out, you can't like someone else!"

"Fool, what are you talking about? How could I like anyone else? I like you as long as it's you."

"Fine! I'll reluctantly believe you."

After cuddling for a while, Xu Lingzhao kissed his cheek and said, "Sleep a little longer, I have to go to the Knights' Camp."

Chu Jing reluctantly let her go, his eyes fixed on the Alpha's every move. He woke up early today because he had a dream.

In his dream, Xu Lingzhao went to the Knights Camp and never returned. He felt scared and woke up in a fright, but looking at Alpha's face, his heart quietly calmed down.

His Alpha is so powerful, he definitely wouldn't do that, he shook the bad thoughts out of his mind.

After dressing, Xu Lingzhao came to the bedside. Looking at the Omega in his pure white pajamas, she leaned down and cupped his face in her hands. "You look so beautiful."

She had barely finished speaking when she placed a kiss on his lips.

"Be good at home and wait for me." Xu Lingzhao took a deep look at the Omega sitting on the bed before opening the door; his eyes were drooping.

But she had to look away, step out, and gently close the door behind her.

Yu Yu was waiting for her outside the small manor early in the morning, her face showing an anxiety that Xu Lingzhao had never seen before.

"What's wrong?" Xu Lingzhao asked, a look of confusion on his face.

"Get on the horse first."

Xu Lingzhao mounted his horse, the cold wind stinging his face.

"Your Highness, something has happened. He has been ordered by the Queen to go to Solo, and we must go with him." Yu Yu's long hair was stuck to her face, and she looked very unwell.

Xu Lingzhao knew about Solo. It was located on the edge of Castile, where Castile bordered three other countries. Not only was the terrain treacherous, but it was also frequently invaded by insectoids and other races.

"How could this happen?" Xu Lingzhao's face also darkened. As the Crown Prince's guard, she and her Holy Light Knights were going to Solo together, as was Yu Yu's Rose Knights.

"I heard it was the Second Prince who orchestrated it. She found something on the First Prince and told the Queen. The evidence was so strong that the First Prince was unable to defend himself and was banished to Solo in front of everyone."

"Furthermore, an inspection team will accompany them, and the chief inspector is a confidant of the Second Prince."

How long will it take?

“If we can come back alive, if we can repel the enemy, if we can bring those three countries into Castile’s territory, if…” Yu Yu paused, “if everything goes smoothly, we can come back within ten years.”

"Ten years." Xu Lingzhao murmured these two words. She suddenly regretted not hugging Chu Jingze properly just now. Ten years, she couldn't wait, and didn't want to wait.

Her gaze gradually hardened as she asked Yu Yu, "Jingze, he...."

"Don't worry, Viv will protect him."

Xu Lingzhao nodded; the only thing she couldn't let go of was her Omega.

When they arrived at the Knights' Camp, the atmosphere was different from usual, much heavier, with solemn expressions on everyone's faces, and everyone trying not to make any other noise.

His Highness stood at the entrance of the Knights' Camp, with more than a dozen Knight Commanders behind him. Alistair's face no longer held its usual high spirits.

"Your Highness." Xu Lingzhao and Yu Yu bowed to Alistair, who looked utterly exhausted. "You've arrived. We'll depart at noon for Sauron."

"Yes." Xu Lingzhao looked behind Alistair and saw a well-organized knight order standing there, but one person was missing.

Knight Commander.

Xu Lingzhao walked up to them, and the knights all looked up at her. Their cloudy and tired eyes revealed a faint sadness. Xu Lingzhao knew where this sadness came from: their former knight commander had just passed away.

"How are you feeling?" Timothy walked to Xu Lingzhao's side. Although her face was expressionless, her tone was equally gentle.

"fine."

"That's good."

The two stood silently side by side, and everyone else stood silently in place. At the very front of the line, Alistair lit a cigar, the smoke blowing into his eyes with the cold wind.

He squinted instinctively. It was really pungent; he had never found it bitter before. He threw the cigar on the ground and stomped it out with his boots. He had lost this round.

But he never expected that his mother would be so cruel to him. Solo was a place that people would avoid at all costs, and it was the place with the highest death rate among knights.

For the first time, he felt his eyes sting. From childhood to adulthood, he had always been the Queen's most beloved child, living a life of luxury and having the final say. No one had ever dared to disobey him.

He was pampered by the Queen as he grew up.

He respected and loved the Queen of Castile, his mother.

This time, however, it was his mother who personally ordered his exile to Solo, which made him feel as if his previous life was just a dream. Because of the queen's favor, he was always extra careful and serious in his actions.

His personal search for medicine for the Queen stemmed not only from personal motives but also from his love for his mother.

Suddenly, something white blocked his view. Alistair reached out and brushed it away. A cool touch came from his fingertips. It was snowing.

Soon, it was time to depart.

All the accompanying knights traveled north. Alistair did not ride in a carriage; he rode on horseback, feeling the cold wind, his hands tightly gripping the reins.

No one came to see him off.

Back then, even when he was just going on a small mission, there were plenty of farewell parties and banquets held for him.

It was quite lively.

But now, he is accompanied only by fifteen knight commanders.

-

Viv knocked on the door of the small manor. She pursed her lips and let out a soft breath. Before leaving, Yu Yu told her to take care of herself and Xu Lingzhao's partner.

Despite her difficult situation, she agreed.

The moment the maid opened the door, she seemed to hear someone calling her.

Viv turned around, and a soft voice beckoned to her from the fence, "It's Ryan."

"Miss Viv, I'm sorry to bother you, but I'd like to ask... um... how do I write a letter to Timothy?"

Viv looked at the Omega in front of her, whose nose was red, and after a moment of contemplation, she smiled and said, "Ryan, if you trust me, you can give me the letter."

Ryan's face lit up with surprise. He quickly thanked her and looked at the maid standing at the door. "The person who lives here, his partner is also going to Solo, isn't he?"

“Yes, Ryan.” After exchanging a few words, Viv entered the castle and was led to a room on the second floor by a maid. Jing probably didn’t know about this yet.

But she had to tell him.

She gently knocked on the door.

"Please come in."

Chu Jing was sitting on the bed reading the book that Xu Lingzhao had given him. His Alpha had thoughtfully bought him many things to cleanse his palate, and the bedside table was filled with books.

And the places he could touch were all kinds of storybooks and small toys.

Looking at these things, he was filled with happiness. When Alpha came back that night, he would definitely kiss her properly. Many unopened gifts were neatly arranged by the maid.

"She's so good." His tone was full of longing, until a knock on the door interrupted his reverie.

"Vivi, what brings you here? Come here quickly." Chu Jing put down the book in his hand and asked the maid to pour Vivi a cup of hot flower tea.

"Dear Viv, what's wrong? What happened? You don't look well." Chu Jing frowned slightly because Viv's expression was really strange, and he seemed to sense a deep sadness.

Viv looked at the Omega in front of her. He seemed to be in a good mood. Yu Yu had told her that Xu Lingzhao cared for him a lot. All the words were on the tip of her tongue, but Viv just couldn't say them.

How should I put it?

They said they went to a very dangerous place, and that they might not be able to come back, or they might die there.

If I can come back, will it take at least ten years?

Viv hesitated to speak, but she gently placed her hand on the back of Chu Jingze's hand and asked softly, "How is your leg injury?"

"It's alright. It used to hurt, but it doesn't anymore. She found me some herbs," Chu Jing said, a faint blush appearing on her face.

"That's good, Ai. Your face doesn't seem to have any scars anymore." Viv looked at him, the conversation lingering on trivial matters.

Chu Jing sensed something was amiss and recalled his dream.

He licked his lips and looked at Viv.
