Chapter 16 Lifetime Marking: Xu Lingzhao and Chu Jingze undergo lifetime marking.
Inside the villa.
Xu Lingzhao took off her coat and hung it by the door. Her gaze swept over the empty living room and the servants with their heads bowed. She went straight to the master bedroom on the second floor. The room was dark, so she turned on the warm light. A clump of blankets was visible on the bed. Xu Lingzhao lifted the blankets and hugged Chu Jingze from behind. Finding him motionless, Xu Lingzhao placed her head on the top of his fluffy hair and whispered, "Why aren't you answering me? Hmm?"
He still didn't move, so Xu Lingzhao gently turned him over to face him. She then noticed that his eyes were red and his face was streaked with tears. Seeing his pitiful state, Xu Lingzhao tenderly wiped away his tears and looked at him gently: "What's wrong, baby? Tell me, okay?" She paused: "Is it because I haven't been with you? I've been too busy lately. I'll come home more often in the future, okay?"
Chu Jingze silently shed tears, his shoulders trembling slightly. Xu Lingzhao picked him up, letting him sit in her lap. She took out a handkerchief and gently wiped away his tears, kissing his forehead and cheeks soothingly. "I neglected you. I'm sorry. What did I do wrong? Tell me, baby. I'll definitely change." She kneaded his glands with her hands, inhaling the fragrance emanating from his body. Three years had passed since they last met, and she had only returned a handful of times in the past year. She then told him everything about Li Ming, and whispered in his ear, "I rejected him and sat at the door all night looking at your picture." As she spoke, she took out a pocket watch from her pocket, opened it, and showed it to Chu Jingze. Inside was his picture.
"Back then, when Qianxue told me you were going to commit suicide for love, I came to find you after I finished what I was doing, but you were asleep." Xu Lingzhao looked at the person in his arms, lifted his hand and kissed the back of it: "Silly boy, don't do that again. It's all my fault, please forgive me?"
Her tone was so sincere, her eyes burning with anticipation for his answer.
After hearing this, Chu Jing stopped crying. Feeling sorry for Xu Lingzhao's experience, she hugged her neck and muttered softly, "How do I know you haven't marked anyone else?"
"You don't trust my willpower at all? I'm a recognized Alpha, after all." Xu Lingzhao smiled and cupped his face in her hands: "Why don't you give it a try, baby?"
Chu Jing blushed at her address. He bit his lip, his eyes filled with affection, and said, "You... how can you be so glib?" He lowered his head in embarrassment, but the next second, his stomach rumbled. He opened his eyes wide and tried to lower his head again, but Xu Lingzhao forced him to lift his head up. "How about I cook you some noodles? We have plenty of time tonight. You need to conserve your energy."
As soon as she finished speaking, she carried Chu Jingze downstairs in a princess carry, placed him on a chair, and started cooking noodles. As soon as Xu Lingzhao entered the office, he closed the door, pressed him against it, kissed him, looked him up and down, and leaned close to his ear: "So sexy."
Seeing that his ears were red, she stopped teasing him and sat down at her desk. The small workstation next to her was temporarily added for Chu Jingze. After handing over some data analysis tasks to Chu Jingze, she quickly got into work mode and processed some important documents. A little while later, there was a knock on the office door.
An Omega major came to report on his work. Xu Lingzhao listened carefully, finalized a few plans, and then let him leave. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed that Chu Jingze's typing hand suddenly tightened its grip. She smiled slightly, reached out and pulled Chu Jingze, chair and all, in front of her, kneading his palm: "Lieutenant, what's wrong? Why are you pressing so hard? Doesn't your finger hurt?"
Chu Jing then said quietly, "Hmph, the way he looks at you is strange."
"Did I notice anything off about his gaze?" Xu Lingzhao asked with interest, finding his behavior rather endearing.
"Um...no."
Xu Lingzhao pinched his cheek and called a doctor over to implant small locators in his wrist and behind his ear. She was worried about him, but she couldn't treat him like a caged bird. She could only do her best to ensure his safety.
