Chapter 3 A Brief Understanding

Chapter 3 A Brief Understanding

It gets dark quickly in the mountains. After dinner, Lu Chenyang asked someone to extinguish the candles, but the assassin still came.

The man in black nightgown was walking through the woods, and no figure could be seen at all.

One of the assassins accidentally stepped on the rope and was hung directly on the tree, screaming.

Almost instantly, the archers lying in ambush in the trees immediately shot arrows in the direction of the sound. Soon several muffled sounds were heard, and they hit people.

The assassins also noticed it and immediately lit torches to provide illumination. Lu Chenyang also saw the assassins this time.

This time the assassins came with greater force, and their number was more than double.

The escorts immediately went up to fight, but the imperial soldiers obviously retreated.

Lu Chenyang shouted, "Protect the prisoner! If we lose the prisoner, no one can escape!"

The guards thought about it and had no choice but to join the battle.

Suddenly, a man in black came directly towards the prison van. Lu Chenyang saw it and pushed the van away with Zhao Xi. The man in black narrowed his eyes, murderous intent rising, and then rushed towards Lu Chenyang with his sword.

Lu Chenyang bent down to avoid it, and accidentally fell to the ground while dodging. She also rolled over, looking very embarrassed.

However, the assassin did not hurt him at all.

When Yan Xing in the prison car saw this, his eyes flashed. This Lu Chenyang didn't look like a weak scholar.

Seeing that the assassin was about to catch up with Lu Chenyang, Zhao Xi quickly opened the door of the prison car and handed Yan Xing a knife.

"Young Master, you are the most powerful, beat them to death!" said the little maid in a high-spirited tone.

Yan Xing rushed out without having time to think.

The little maid behind him was still shouting, "Master, don't run away! I have your jade pendant in my hand!"

When Yan Xing heard what Zhao Qinghui had returned to him that day, he paused slightly but did not look back.

Lu Chenyang fell to the ground and the assassin was about to stab him. Lu Chenyang put his hands on his sleeves, and then... Yan Xing's knife blocked Lu Chenyang.

As soon as Yan Xing came out, the assassins had a clear target and immediately rushed towards him.

Yan Xing shouted, "Tan Feng, lead five men to guard the northwest direction. Fang Jiu will lead eleven men to guard the back, and the archers will provide cover!"

The people whose names he called out subconsciously followed his orders. Tan Feng was the team leader and Fang Jiu was his deputy. Both of them were very prestigious in the escort agency and they quickly organized people to do as he instructed.

With Yan Xing's command, the situation quickly reversed.

After half an hour, the assassin was defeated and gradually retreated.

Yan Xing shouted, "Don't chase after a desperate enemy."

They also suffered many injuries in this hard battle.

Lu Chenyang and Zhao Xi began to count the wounded. Zhao Xi came over to report, "Four of our men are seriously injured, thirteen are slightly injured, twenty-four officers and soldiers are injured, and sixteen are unable to move." After a pause, she stated what Lu Chenyang cared about most: "All the assassins committed suicide. There are no survivors."

Lu Chenyang was not surprised. He nodded and said, "Let's save people first."

Zhao Xi responded, and the two of them started to treat the wounded separately.

Lu Chenyang lowered his head and bandaged the wound of a soldier, his movements very familiar.

Yan Xing was a little surprised: "Master Lu also knows medicine?"

"I know a little bit." Lu Chenyang said without raising his head: "My grandfather runs a clinic."

Yan Xing seemed to be lost in thought.

Lu Chenyang's hands moved quickly, and he ordered him: "Master, please help me hold him down."

The guard had a broken leg and was lying on the ground in a strange posture. Lu Chenyang wanted to set his bones.

Yan Xing helped to hold the man down, and Lu Chenyang immediately took action. A wailing sound resounded throughout the mountains.

Yan Xing couldn't help but shudder.

Lu Chenyang let go of his hand without changing his expression: "It's okay, just rest for a night." Then he went to see the next one.

Zhao Xi's movements were not slow, even more agile than Lu Chenyang's. His acupuncturist's hands were steady, accurate and ruthless, and without hesitation, he had bandaged the wounds of several people in a short while.

It seems that there are many hidden talents among the people around Lu Chenyang. Even a little maid has such good medical skills. No wonder he dared to go to Lingnan alone.

Among the most injured were three people, all of whom were officers and soldiers of the imperial court. They had lost too much blood, but the medicine they had was now used up.

These herbs were brought by Lu Chenyang. Previously, the officers and soldiers thought that Lu Chenyang was a cowardly scholar who brought so many herbs with him when he took office. Now, no one dared to say anything because most of these herbs were used on them.

The bodyguards brought by Lu Chenyang were all highly skilled in martial arts, so even if they were injured, they would not be so seriously injured.

By the time everyone's wounds were treated, it was already dawn. There were not enough medicinal materials, so Lu Chenyang decided to go collect some.

Yan Xing raised his eyebrows: "You can also pick herbs?"

"I understand a little bit." Lu Chenyang replied casually, then turned his head to look at Zhao Xi: "Zhao Xi, you take care of them and look after the prince. I'll go collect herbs."

Yan Xing sneered. A little maid wants to keep an eye on him?

Lu Chenyang returned at noon, bringing back a lot of medicinal herbs. When he returned, he found that the people who stayed behind had already prepared several stretchers.

Tan Feng glanced at Yan Xing and said, "Prince Yan asked us to do this. He said it would make it easier to get on the road."

Lu Chenyang nodded: "Your Highness is very thoughtful." After a pause, she said: "Put the injured on the stretcher, we are ready to leave."

Wang Da, the captain of the imperial squad, came over awkwardly and asked, "Master Lu, that prisoner... uh, the prince..." He then asked softly, "Is he still getting in the car?"

Lu Chenyang slapped Wanda on the head and said, "Why are you getting on? He has hands and feet and he still wants to ride? Let the injured brothers sit!"

Wanda was stunned for a moment and agreed.

In fact, they all looked down on Lu Chenyang along the way. Not only was he a scholar, but he was also extremely stingy and didn't want to spend a penny. He didn't know how to spend money on them. He was just a greenhorn.

However, after these assassinations, they all changed their minds. The escorts Lu Chenyang brought with him were all very skilled and never ignored them when they encountered danger.

Many people were injured yesterday, including bodyguards and soldiers, but Lu Chenyang and his maid treated them all equally, treating the most seriously injured first without any discrimination.

This is enough to make them discouraged.
