After coming out of the food stall, Yan Zheng was in a very low mood. Sang Tianen was afraid that something might happen to him, so he pushed him into the passenger seat of his car and drove him away.
Yan Zheng didn't say a word along the way. He tilted his head and looked at the scenery outside the window that was constantly receding. The lights of the city were mottled on his face, making his white jade-like face even more transparent and fragile, as if it would shatter in the next second.
He once thought that he could move on and get over that hurdle, but reality slapped him hard in the face. When he saw those two nightmarish faces, he was still uncontrollably afraid, and his brain started playing the scenes of that night like an automatic player.
It was a dark and rainy night. He came out of the cram school, said goodbye to his classmates, and was about to take the night bus home with his schoolbag. Suddenly, several young women jumped out of the alley and blocked his way. He recognized two of them, Xia Chun and Zhang Han from his class.
He suddenly had a bad feeling in his heart and subconsciously wanted to turn around and run away, but Xia Chun grabbed his hair from behind and covered his mouth.
The umbrella fell to the ground. He opened his eyes wide in horror and kicked his legs hard. Several women dragged him to a deserted place. His heart almost stopped.
A young woman happened to come over at this moment. His eyes lit up in an instant and he looked at the man with longing eyes, but after seeing the five tall and strong young women, the other party decisively chose to escape.
A strong feeling of despair suddenly came over him, and tears gushed out. He shook his head unwillingly and tried to pinch Xia Chun's hand with his fingers, but in vain.
He was dragged into a dark and damp alley, where those people stripped him of his clothes, kept touching his body with their dirty hands, and spoke obscene words.
Some people even took out their cell phones to take pictures. He lay on the ground like a corpse, with cold rain mixed with his tears continuously sliding down.
There was only one thought in my mind, and that was to die quickly. As long as I died, I wouldn't have to face the next scene...
Sang Tianen is regretting it so much now. There are so many restaurants of all sizes in Zhaoyang City, but he chose this shabby shop instead. If it weren't for him, Yan Zheng wouldn't have suffered such harm.
Her brows were furrowed tightly, and her face was filled with anger. The red light at the intersection ahead suddenly turned on. She slammed on the brakes, and Yan Zheng leaned forward due to inertia.
The tear-stained face happened to fall into Sang Tianen's eyes, and Sang Tianen's heart was instantly broken. She stretched out a hand to wipe his tears, but Yan Zheng dodged to the side with a look of fear on his face.
Sang Tianen's hand froze in mid-air, her face full of surprise. Yan Zheng...is he afraid of her?
Yan Zheng also reacted, a trace of panic flashed in his eyes, and he hurriedly explained: "I'm sorry, I..." As he spoke, he choked up and covered his face with his hands.
Sang Tianen's grip on the steering wheel tightened. Yan Zheng calmed down, raised his red and swollen eyes and said to Sang Tianen: "Can you take me home? I want to calm down."
Sang Tianen paused, nodded and said, "Okay."
Twenty minutes later, Sang Tianen sent Yan Zheng to the door of his house. Yan Zheng unlocked the door and was about to go in when Sang Tianen pressed the door frame from behind and said calmly, "Have a good rest and don't think about anything."
Yan Zheng nodded weakly, and his drooping eyelids trembled slightly.
Sang Tianen thought about it for a moment, then reached out and gently stroked his hair, saying softly, "Don't be afraid."
Yan Zheng's body began to tremble unbearably. He suddenly turned around and hugged Sang Tianen, crying softly, "I'm sorry, I just remembered those things. Please don't be angry with me, okay?"
Sang Tianen patted his back gently and said softly, "Silly boy, how could I be angry with you." But his eyes were staring coldly at a certain point at the end of the corridor.
Yan Zheng's fingers gently pinched the fabric on Sang Tianen's waist. He mustered up all his courage and raised his eyes. He stared into Sang Tianen's eyes and asked, "Am I dirty?"
"They are the dirty ones, and they are the ones who deserve to die." Sang Tianen replied without thinking.
Yan Zheng laughed twice, tears rolling down his cheeks: "If you knew all that about me from the beginning, you probably wouldn't have dated me, right?"
"I like you as a person. What does that have to do with those things?" Sang Tianen wiped the man's tears. "The past is the past. What's important is the present and the future. You've already moved on. Don't look back."
Yan Zheng stared at her without blinking and said, "Do you really not mind? How could a woman not mind such a thing? You don't have to comfort me, I can accept it. If you want to break up, I can understand."
"I won't break up. If you're a woman, you have to care about this kind of thing. Just treat me as a man." Sang Tianen said, raising his voice slightly.
"You don't have to feel sorry for me." Yan Zheng's Adam's apple slid twice, and his eyes widened. "Really, you don't have to feel sorry for me. I can understand. I can understand."
Sang Tianen raised his eyebrows and said angrily, "You think I'm pitying you? There are so many people in this world who have had rough fates. Why should I only pity you and not others?"
Yan Zheng swallowed and said in a trembling voice, "Even if you don't mind it now, you will still think about it in the future. The more times you think about it, the more you will care about it, until it becomes a thorn in your heart that you can never get rid of."
Sang Tianen raised his hands and held his face, staring at him sharply, and said in a low voice: "Yan Zheng, wake up, that thing is in the past, don't be entangled by it anymore!"
Yan Zheng was stunned for a moment, and a tear fell: "No, it's not over."
"No, it's over, but you're still stuck in that night." Sang Tianen applied a little force to his hand, "Yan Zheng, you've moved on. Don't let those memories get you down again!"
"But...but I'm scared..." Yan Zheng covered Sang Tianen's hand with his, tears streaming down his face. "I get scared every time I think about those things. Xiaoen, tell me, how can I not be scared?"
Sang Tianen pressed his head into her arms, holding it tightly, as if she wanted to embed him completely into her body. She said in a deep voice, "Are you still afraid now?"
Yan Zheng didn't reply.
Sang Tianen used a little more strength and asked again: "Now?"
Yan Zheng moved a little and whispered, "I'm not afraid anymore."
Sang Tianen let out a long sigh, then she let go of Yan Zheng's body and said seriously, "With me here, you don't have to be afraid of anything in the future."
