Chapter 15: Asking for Trouble

He looked at Sang Tianen sternly, his eyes full of scrutiny.

Sang Tianen was stunned for a moment, not understanding the reason for this sudden hostility. After a moment's thought, he said, "Minister Yan, I really don't mean anything special. I just want to express my gratitude to you. I apologize if this makes you feel uncomfortable."

Her expression was serious and her tone was sincere. Even Nan Tian beside her was moved. He shook Yan Zheng's hand and said coquettishly, "Xiao Zheng, don't be like this. Just let me treat you."

Yan Zheng was a little amused and helpless. He knew that this woman had a clever tongue, but he didn't expect her to be so good. After hearing what she said, it would seem a bit unkind of him to refuse again.

He had no choice but to nod, and Nantian happily took his arm: "What should we eat? Steak? Seafood?"

"Eat whatever you want." Sang Tianen smiled generously, acting like a wealthy woman.

"Then we won't be polite." Nantian tilted his head back and thought for half a second. His eyes curved into crescents as if an idea had occurred to him. "Let's go eat crayfish. I saw an influencer eating crayfish yesterday and it made me so hungry."

"Okay." Yan Zheng was also infected by his cheerful atmosphere and laughed.

Seeing the two people's happy expressions, Sang Tianen suggested: "I know a restaurant that makes really good lobsters. They have all kinds of flavors. Why don't we go there and eat."

"Okay, okay." Nantian clapped his hands excitedly.

The three of them took Yan Zheng's car to Sister Lobster Restaurant. Along the way, Sang Tianen sat in a strange and awkward posture. When she encountered uneven roads or sudden brakes, she could only grit her teeth and swallow it.

She didn't want to be so embarrassed, she just wanted to understand why Yan Zheng became cold and even hostile towards her. She hoped that this meal could resolve the misunderstanding between them.

More than twenty minutes later, they arrived at Sisters Lobster Restaurant.

Sang Tianen handed the menu to Nan Tian and Yan Zheng across from him: "Order whatever you want to eat."

Yan Zheng saw her strange sitting posture and wanted to laugh for some reason, but he also felt that it was a bit unkind of him to do so, so he simply set his eyes on the menu and looked at the dishes carefully.

"The prices are so expensive." Nantian wrinkled her delicate nose, pouted her lips slightly, and her eyes moved quickly on the menu.

Yan Zheng also felt that the price was a bit outrageous. 130 yuan for two kilograms of lobster was no different from robbery.

"The lobster here is delicious and big. Aside from being expensive, there's nothing wrong with it." Sang Tianen explained, then winked mischievously, "Order whatever you like. It doesn't cost you anything anyway."

"That's not right." Nantian said in a low voice. Even if someone said he was treating you, you couldn't really overcharge them.

Seeing that the two were reluctant to start writing, Sang Tianen took the menu and pen, lowered his head and asked, "Can you eat spicy food?"

"I can eat it, but Xiaozheng can't because he has a bad stomach." Nantian replied.

Sang Tianen held the pen and sketched a few times, then asked, "Can I eat seafood?"

"Yes, Xiao Zheng's favorite foods are grilled oysters and salt and pepper mantis shrimp."

Yan Zheng, who was under the table, pinched Nan Tian's thigh, wanting to tell him not to go too far, but he used too much force and pinched Nan Tian so hard that he almost jumped up, and his facial features were distorted.

Fortunately, he didn't make any sound, but just stared with his round eyes, looking like some kind of rodent.

Sang Tianen raised his head and looked at Yan Zheng, a smile flashing in his eyes. He twirled the pencil with his slender fingers and said softly, "Is there anything else you particularly like to eat?"

The tone and gesture were as gentle as if speaking to a lover. Yan Zheng's heart suddenly tightened. He turned his head away and whispered, "That's gone."

Sang Tianen's eyes flickered, and he smiled and said, "What kind of drink would you like? We have corn juice, sour plum soup, watermelon juice..."

"Just corn juice." Yan Zheng pinched his fingers and adjusted his breathing calmly.

Sang Tianen called the waiter over, handed over the menu, turned around and said to the two of them, "The lobster may take a little while. I ordered some other things. Let's eat a little first to fill our stomachs."

As he spoke, he washed all the dishes for both of them with tea and poured them into the trash cans nearby.

"You're so considerate." Nantian held his chin and looked at her, his eyes sparkling. "Why haven't any of the women I've been with been as attentive and considerate as you?"

Sang Tianen smiled and said, "I would be proud if you praised me like this."

Nantian smiled and looked at her without blinking, as if admiring a work of art: "Do you mind if I ask you a personal question?"

"That depends on how personal it is."

"do you have a boyfriend?"

Sang Tianen twitched the corner of his mouth and showed a helpless smile. It was really the same question that had remained the same for ten years without any novelty. He just opened his mouth to say yes, glanced at Yan Zheng's soft eyes, and swallowed the words that were about to come out of his mouth.

"Why?" Nantian asked in confusion, "It's private?"

"Not really." Sang Tianen hesitated for a moment, "Actually, I don't have a boyfriend." After saying that, he glanced at Yan Zheng for some unknown reason.

It happened that Yan Zheng was also looking at her. Their eyes met in the air. Yan Zheng's eyes trembled slightly, and Sang Tianen also withdrew his gaze uncomfortably and poured himself a cup of tea.

At this time, the waiter brought up the drinks and some pre-grilled vegetarian skewers. Nantian picked up a cauliflower skewer and handed it to Yan Zheng, whispering, "This is also Xiao Zheng's favorite."

Sang Tianen smiled softly, picked up the glass kettle and poured a glass of corn juice for Yan Zheng. Nantian also pushed his cup over: "Pour me one too, thank you."
