Sai Baozhen is a well-informed person and has seen all kinds of difficult customers, but she has never seen someone like Sang Tianen.
She looks weak and like a pretty lady, but in fact she likes to speak with hidden intentions, using others' force to counter the opponent's force, and is very cunning.
She was almost certain that no matter what she said next, Sang Tianen would be able to shut her up and show no mercy.
"Yan Zheng, your girlfriend is quite articulate." She smiled faintly, but the smile did not reach her eyes.
"You can eat whatever you want but you can't say whatever you want. Minister Yan hasn't agreed to me yet." Sang Tianen glared at her.
Yan Zheng really wanted to shut Sang Tianen's mouth. He was addicted to acting. He turned to Sai Baozhen, his eyes becoming complicated: "Baozhen, let's part ways amicably."
Sai Baozhen twitched her lips, and her face instantly turned the color of liver. Yan Zheng's words made her feel ashamed and embarrassed, as if she were a child making a fuss because she couldn't get candy.
She likes Yan Zheng. She fell in love with this man from the first time they met, but he looked down on her and she could do nothing about it.
No matter how much she provoked him, he wouldn't even look at her, and it would only increase his disgust.
"Sister?" Yangyang beside her shook her arm, and her red lips, which were painted with attractive colors, pouted slightly, looking a little unhappy.
Sai Baozhen came back to her senses and her expression returned to normal. She looked at Yan Zheng deeply, then took Yangyang's hand and strode away.
After this brief farce, Sang Tianen no longer had the appetite to eat. Her buttocks were aching terribly, so she quickly stood up to relieve the pressure on her tailbone.
Yan Zheng looked at her amusedly: "Do you know it hurts?"
"I'm not a fool." Sang Tianen rolled his eyes at him.
Yan Zheng lowered his head and smiled, then blinked at Sang Tianen and said, "I saw that you were quite happy just now, weren't you?"
"You misunderstood me. I'm usually very quiet and introverted. This time I just couldn't stand that woman's weird attitude, so I spoke up for justice."
"So I should thank you?" Yan Zheng looked at her with a smile.
Sang Tianen waved his hand, looking generous: "No, no, we are all colleagues, how can I ask you to spend money to treat me to a meal?"
Yan Zheng showed an incredible look: "When did I say I would treat you to a meal?"
Sang Tianen looked at him doubtfully: "Then how are you going to thank me? Just say it?"
Yan Zheng took a deep breath, feeling that he had been unknowingly led into a verbal trap by Sang Tianen. He raised his chin and looked at her, his beautiful eyes unblinking: "I have to thank you with my mouth?"
Sang Tianen was stunned and replied, "It's not impossible."
Yan Zheng gritted his teeth and glared at her. In his entire life, he had never seen anyone with a thicker skin than Sang Tianen, and the most important thing was that he was so serious and righteous.
"You talk too much nonsense. Do you want to eat?" He gestured at the food on the table with his eyes.
"I don't want to eat anymore." Sang Tianen glanced at the table where there was still a lot of food left, and called the waiter to ask for take-away boxes and plastic bags.
Yan Zheng watched her pick up lobster after lobster with her chopsticks. His eyes flickered and he asked in a low voice, "Do you still want these?"
"Why not?" Sang Tianen glanced at him and picked up a few more mantis shrimps. "I didn't eat much."
"I thought..." Yan Zheng was too embarrassed to say the rest.
Sang Tianen glanced at him and said seriously, "What do you think? I tell you, although I'm not a good person, I do have my strengths, and being thrifty is one of them."
"Indeed." Yan Zheng nodded in agreement.
Sang Tianen stopped and looked at him and said, "Do you mean the first half of the sentence or the second half by 'indeed'?"
"The second half of the sentence." Yan Zheng looked sincere.
Sang Tianen stared at him for a few seconds, then turned back to packing his bag, muttering, "Every meal should be appreciated, as it is not easy to come by. Every piece of cloth should be cherished, as it is not easy to produce. In this day and age, every penny saved counts."
Seeing her mumbling like a seventy or eighty-year-old grandmother, Yan Zheng couldn't help but laugh: "Why are you still talking in such a complicated way?"
"This is all life experience." Sang Tianen packed up the last portion of thirteen-spice lobster and said to Yan Zheng, "I'll have to trouble you to take me home."
The two drove to Jingran Community where Sang Tianen lived. As soon as they entered the gate of the community, heavy rain began to fall. There were lightning and thunder in the sky, and the rumbling thunder seemed to blow up the entire dark sky.
"Why don't you come to my house for a cup of coffee first? Wait until the rain is lighter before leaving?" Sang Tianen suggested, looking at the blurry windshield.
Yan Zheng said nothing, one hand on the steering wheel, turning to look at her. The sky was gloomy, the light in the car was dim, and his eyes, which used to be soft and charming, now seemed extremely deep.
"What, what's going on?" Sang Tianen was frightened by his gaze and asked stutteringly.
Yan Zheng remained silent, staring at her in silence. Then a flash of blue lightning flashed across the sky, illuminating his face. He asked in a low voice, "Sang Tianen, do you really want to invite me upstairs for coffee?"
Sang Tianen was stunned for a moment and replied, "Yes."
She had met Yan Zheng several times in the tea room, and every time she saw him making coffee. She guessed that he liked drinking coffee. Her family had just bought some new coffee beans, and she wanted him to try them.
Yan Zheng's lips were pressed into a straight line, his back stiff, and he stared at her for a long while before he whispered, "Okay."
Sang Tianen looked at him and felt that this guy was really hard to describe. It was just a cup of coffee, but he made such a fuss that he had to think about it for so long. What was the point?
She took out a folding umbrella from her purse and handed it to Yan Zheng: "It's raining quite hard. Since you're a man, I'll give you the umbrella."
"We can fight together." Yan Zheng did not answer.
Sang Tianen scoffed and threw the umbrella onto his legs: "It's raining so hard, it's hard enough for one person, let alone two people. Okay, stop talking nonsense, I'm going to rush."
After saying that, he unbuckled his seat belt, hugged the briefcase tightly in his arms, picked up the plastic bag, opened the car door and rushed out.
I was running and gasping for breath, feeling that I was really asking for death. Why did I have to run out for no reason? Wasn't I comfortable lying at home?
Unfortunately, there is no medicine for regret in this world.
The rain was heavy, as if it was being poured down from the sky. Before he had run a few steps, Sang Tianen was drenched by the cold rain.
She bit her back teeth, feeling cold and painful. Fortunately, the parking lot was not far from the building, and she quickly ran downstairs to the apartment.
When he turned around, he saw Yan Zheng walking towards him quickly. His white shirt and light grey trousers were both wet. Sang Tianen wiped his wet eyes and said, "Let's go."
Yan Zheng folded his umbrella, shook the water off onto the ground, and followed.
