Chapter 38 Straight Girl

Sang Tianen came to a flower shop. The shop was not big and the door was made of glass. It was wiped very clean and bright, so you could see the decorations and various flowers inside at a glance.

She grasped the stainless steel door handle and pushed open the heavy glass door. The wind chimes on the door frame swayed, making clear and pleasant tinkling sounds.

The boss was a middle-aged man wearing an apron and pruning branches. When he heard the voice, he looked up and smiled gently: "Welcome!"

Perhaps it was because of the fragrance of flowers that filled the room, or perhaps it was because of the boss's smile that made people feel like spring breeze, Sang Tianen's originally uneasy heart suddenly relaxed at this moment.

"Hello, I want to buy a bouquet of red roses. Could you please wrap it up nicely for me?" She smiled faintly and stated her request concisely.

"Is this a gift for your boyfriend?" The boss came over with a smile and asked casually.

"Uh... he's not my boyfriend yet." Sang Tianen smiled awkwardly. She and Yan Zheng were at most in the ambiguous period now, not boyfriend and girlfriend yet.

"It seems like they're still in the ambiguous stage." The boss showed a knowing expression and walked to where the red roses were placed. "So, you're pursuing him now, right?"

"He pursued me." Sang Tianen blurted out the words without thinking, "He pursued me, yes, he pursued me."

The boss was stunned for a moment, then burst into laughter, tears welling up in his eyes. He said with an unsteady breath, "Little girl, I'm just asking casually. There's no need to be so nervous."

Sang Tianen was also a little embarrassed. She touched her nose and said unnaturally: "Please help me wrap a bouquet of roses. I'm in a hurry."

"How many do you need? Do you need some other flowers?" the boss asked with a blink of his eyes.

Sang Tianen frowned, thought for a moment and said, "Just wrap it casually, as long as it doesn't look shabby."

The boss's smile disappeared upon hearing this, revealing a serious face: "If you have this attitude, I suggest you don't buy flowers."

Faced with this 180-degree turn in attitude, Sang Tianen didn't react for a moment and looked at him blankly.

"Giving flowers is a way to express your feelings. How will the recipient feel if you are so perfunctory? The recipient will think that you carefully selected the flowers, but in fact you just handed over a few bills without even looking at them."

"I've seen many women like you. Giving flowers is just a way for you to get a man, not a way to express your love. Go to another flower shop. I don't want to do business with you anymore."

Sang Tianen looked at the flower shop owner in shock, thinking that there was something wrong with this man. She just wanted to buy a bouquet of roses, but he made such a fuss about it.

"Wait a minute!" She reached out to stop the boss who was about to leave. "You can choose not to sell me flowers, but I must make it clear that I let you pack them as you please because I don't know much about flowers. As the owner of a flower shop, you must know more than me. This is not perfunctory."

Sang Tianen paused and continued, "And you said you only paid a few bills. Do you think money is easy to make? I have never spent money on any man other than my family."

In the end, Sang Tianen got a bouquet of yellow roses for free. The boss said that it was not appropriate to give too bright flowers for the first date. Yellow roses were just right. The language of the flower is luck, blessing and waiting for love.

Seeing that he was sincere in admitting his mistake, Sang Tianen didn't bother with him as a man. By the time they arrived at Jiahe Dental Hospital, it was already 4:45.

Yan Zheng stood at the most conspicuous guard post, watching the vehicles passing by one by one. As soon as Sang Tianen's car turned, he walked over.

It was a little after four o'clock and the sunset had not yet completely set. The rosy glow in the sky dyed a large area of the light blue sky red, and Sang Tianen's face was also dyed red.

She was sitting in a convertible wearing sunglasses, one hand on the steering wheel, the evening breeze ruffling her hair. When she saw Yan Zheng coming over, her originally expressionless face suddenly revealed a beautiful smile.

"Are your eyes so sharp?" she asked with a smile.

Yan Zheng saw Huang Meigui on the passenger seat at a glance. The corners of his mouth curled up a little, but his face was stern: "I'm fifteen minutes late." He opened the passenger seat and sat in.

"Sorry, I won't do that next time." Sang Tianen didn't explain the matter of the flower shop, but gestured at the flowers with his eyes, "Do you like them? They're for you."

Yan Zheng picked up the yellow rose, put his nose close to it and took a light sip, then said nonchalantly, "Not bad."

Seeing him curling up the corners of his mouth and sniffing the roses carefully, Sang Tianen chuckled softly. He was such a hypocritical man. It was worth her being scolded by the flower shop owner.

At this time, a horn sounded from behind the car urging him to drive. Sang Tianen stepped on the accelerator and turned the steering wheel to merge into the traffic in front.

"I booked a seafood restaurant, but it's a bit far away. It takes at least 40 minutes to drive there." Sang Tianen said, staring at the road ahead.

"Yeah." Yan Zheng pursed his lips, responded softly, and lowered his head to look at the rose in his arms.

Sang Tianen thought Yan Zheng would say something, but all he got was a "hmm." He glanced at him curiously and asked, "Why aren't you talking?"

"What did you say?" Yan Zheng looked back at her, his clear eyes like a spring reflecting Sang Tianen's figure.

"Just say something. Driving is boring." Sang Tianen joked, "How about you tell me a joke?"

"..." Yan Zheng stared at her for three full seconds before he said, "Are you serious?" Who would let their partner tell jokes on the first date?

"Of course..." Sang Tianen nodded, and suddenly changed his tone and said, "It's fake." After saying that, he burst into laughter.
