"Five yuan isn't money, is it?" Sang Tianen took the scratch-off ticket and handed it back to Sang Muyang disapprovingly. "Hurry up and claim your prize at the machine. I'll give you ten yuan to buy a cup of milk tea later."
Sang Muyang nodded and redeemed the prize at the lottery machine. After receiving the five-dollar bill, the three of them headed back to the supermarket.
"There's so much drama even if you win five dollars!"
"Exactly. I thought I had won millions. These three people are so funny."
A faint sound of ridicule came from behind. The sound was not loud, but it penetrated the air accurately into the ears of several people. Sang Tianen coughed awkwardly.
She was indeed a little excited just now, and it was not her fault. It was the first time she saw someone around her win the lottery. Her behavior was a bit exaggerated, but it was also in line with human nature.
She now seemed to understand why so many people liked to buy lottery tickets. Two dollars could not buy you any loss or fraud, and before the lottery was drawn, you could dream of becoming a billionaire.
You can change your house to a bigger one, your car to a better one, and even your wife or husband to a younger and better-looking one.
Even the boss who usually exploited me became amiable, the heavy workload was no longer so unbearable, and everything around me suddenly became pleasing to the eye.
A small lottery ticket is like a boat ticket that can save you from the sea of suffering.
It doesn’t matter if you don’t win. This is the normal state of life. After a brief period of loss, you will be able to plunge into the next beautiful dream again.
The three people walked in the crowded shopping mall without saying a word. Except for Sang Tianen, the other two could not hide their disappointment, especially Sang Mingming, who looked as wilted as an eggplant hit by frost.
"Oh, I didn't even win five dollars." Sang Mingming said weakly, "I bought four tickets and wasted twenty dollars."
"I just advised you not to buy so much." Sang Muyang muttered softly.
"I just thought buying a few more tickets would increase my chances of winning." Sang Mingming snorted angrily, "Who knew it would only increase my costs?"
Seeing his two younger brothers so devastated by the lottery, Sang Tianen chuckled, "Alright, it's no big deal. Look at the way you two look."
Sang Mingming still hummed in dissatisfaction, walked to Sang Tianen's side, took her arm and said coquettishly: "Sister, I feel bad."
"You have a lot of things to worry about." Sang Tianen rolled his eyes at him unmoved.
"I want to drink milk tea, I want to drink milk tea, I want to drink milk tea..." Sang Mingming began to chant, her waist almost twisted into a knot.
Sang Tianen suddenly felt a trigeminal neuralgia, and as if sending away the plague god, he pulled out a fifty-dollar bill from his wallet and threw it to him, waving his hand impatiently: "Get out!"
After receiving the money, Sang Mingming smiled happily and blew her a kiss: "Thank you, sister, I love you the most." Then he took Sang Muyang's hand and flew to the milk tea shop not far away like a butterfly.
Sang Tianen pulled a cart into the supermarket. Tomorrow she would take her two younger brothers back to the countryside to celebrate her grandmother's birthday, so she came here specially to buy things today.
She walked to the fruit stall and picked some seasonal fruits. Just as she was about to take them to the weighing area, her cell phone suddenly rang. She took a look and it was Yan Zheng who was calling.
She raised her eyebrows, swiped the answer button on her phone, and said in a pretentiously serious voice, "Hello?"
"It's me." Yan Zheng's deep voice came, "Why didn't I see you working overtime today?"
Sang Tianen didn't know whether her expression fell or not, but her heart really fell from the clouds to the bottom of the valley. She originally thought that her boyfriend called to hang out with her, but it turned out that he was asking her if she had worked overtime.
Her expectation was dashed, and she said angrily, "If you don't want to add it, then don't add it." Her fingertips unconsciously touched the sharp thorns on the durian.
Yan Zheng heard the subtle meaning in her words, paused and asked, "Are you in a bad mood?"
"I'm in a good mood." As long as you don't ask me about work, Sang Tianen added in his heart, his fingers still stroking the durian, feeling that the durian he bought was of really good quality.
Yan Zheng decided to change the subject: "Where are you now?"
"Supermarket. I'm going back to the countryside to celebrate my grandma's birthday tomorrow, so I came here to buy some things." Sang Tianen replied.
Yan Zheng was silent for a few seconds, his voice a little hoarse: "When will you be back?"
"I'll be back in the evening. My home is in the countryside of Zhaoyang City." Sang Tianen suddenly found that there was a shelf not far away with young coconuts shipped from abroad. They were only 9.9, and he walked over unconsciously.
She picked four young coconuts in one breath and asked the salesperson next to her to speak. Yan Zheng listened to her talking to the staff and his heart sank slowly.
Sang Tianen, who was handing over the young coconut, suddenly noticed that there was no sound in the receiver. He frowned and asked, "Why aren't you talking?"
"What do you want me to say?" Yan Zheng took a breath and said with a barely perceptible hint of grievance in his voice.
"If you have nothing to say, hang up." Sang Tianen was also impressed by Yan Zheng. He called just to ask if she had any overtime. She was exhausted as a dog, so why would she take a break? Was it necessary to chase him for thousands of miles?
Yan Zheng's eyes turned red with anger, his chest heaving, and the fingertips holding the phone turned white. After a long pause, he said in a hoarse voice, "I didn't eat dinner."
"Why don't you eat? No wonder your stomach is not good..." Before Sang Tianen could finish speaking, he heard a busy tone from the receiver and Yan Zheng hung up the phone.
Sang Tianen was also a little angry. He felt that Yan Zheng was simply incomprehensible. He knew that he had a bad stomach but didn't eat. He hung up the phone after just a few words. He really had a bad temper.
Fortunately, he is her boyfriend. If Sang Muyang dared to treat her like this, he would be skinned alive.
