If you can get a good deal, you are a fool. Sang Tianen walked out of the hair salon opened by her sister Sang Nishang happily. She raised her hand and touched her newly cut hair, and felt that her head was lighter.
I was in a good mood and took a photo to post on Paper Plane. As soon as I opened the page, I saw an unread message - What time will you be back in the evening?
The person who sent the message was Yan Zheng. The time showed 2:34, and more than an hour had passed.
She had just finished fixing her computer and rushed over to get her hair cut without noticing the phone ringing. She estimated the time and replied to Yan Zheng, "9:00."
Not long after the message was sent, the phone rang. Sang Tianen was startled. She now had reason to suspect that Yan Zheng had been squatting in front of the phone waiting for her news.
"Hello?" She raised the corner of her mouth and answered the phone, then looked down at her toes.
"It's me." Yan Zheng's voice came slowly, like the gurgling water passing by my ears.
Sang Tianen smiled and said, "I know it's you. What's the matter?"
A low laugh escaped Yan Zheng's throat: "Can't I call you if there's nothing else?"
"What I mean is, if you want to fight, just fight. It's up to you." Sang Tianen teased.
"Can we have a midnight snack together when you come back tonight?"
"We've already eaten, why would you want a midnight snack? Eating too much at night will cause indigestion, which is bad for your stomach." Sang Tianen said sincerely.
Yan Zheng was silent for a long time before he whispered, "I just want to see you."
"Why don't you just tell me you want to see me? You're asking me what time I'll be home and asking me out for a midnight snack. I'm dizzy from all the beating around the bush. I really thought you were greedy." Sang Tianen said with a smile.
Yan Zheng took a deep breath, and once again lamented the horror of straight women. After a long pause, he said softly, "Want to come out tonight?"
Sang Tianen hesitated. Although she estimated to be home around 9 or 10 o'clock, she was not sure of the exact time. After all, there were so many relatives here, and she might have to socialize until very late.
She thought for a moment and said, "How about going out tomorrow night? I don't know what time I'll be out here."
"I can wait for you."
"How about this," Sang Tianen paused and offered his suggestion, "If I can get home before ten o'clock, we'll go out for a midnight snack. If not, we'll go out for tomorrow. Is that okay?"
"Okay." Yan Zheng replied.
After hanging up the phone, Sang Tianen drove home. In the evening, more people came, many of them were neighbors who came to join in the fun.
When there are more people around, more people start talking. Some people started asking Sang Tianen questions like how much money he makes a month, whether he has a boyfriend, when he plans to get married, and so on.
By the end of the questioning, she was completely furious and found an excuse to hide in the backyard to smoke. The smell of cigarettes was so unbearable that she had to smoke one to calm herself down.
After taking a few puffs of cigarette, I felt relieved. I looked at my wrist and saw that it was already past eight o'clock. It would take at least an hour to drive from Sangjia Village to the city. I was definitely too late.
She sent a message to Yan Zheng, asking him to stop waiting and go to bed early. Yan Zheng sent her a disappointed emoticon.
Sang Tianen didn’t know how to comfort her boyfriend, so she just sent Yan Zheng an emoticon of touching his head.
Yan Zheng didn't reply to her. After Sang Tianen boredly browsed the gossip news for a while, she closed her phone and leaned against the wall, admiring the crescent moon above her head.
Just as she was about to go back, the back door suddenly heard the sound of the door lock turning, and Sang Muyang came out with a cell phone in his hand: "Wait a moment, I'll find a place where there's no one to talk to you."
Sang Muyang's voice was very soft. He looked around with a guilty look on his face. Sang Tianen hid in the darkness and said nothing.
She knew she shouldn't eavesdrop on her brother's phone calls, but when she thought about how she wasn't a good person and shouldn't hold herself to the standards of a gentleman, she felt comfortable eavesdropping.
"Okay, we can talk now, there is no one here." Sang Muyang said softly while sitting on a lounge chair.
Not knowing what the person on the phone said, Sang Muyang frowned and subconsciously bit his lip. After a long moment, he whispered, "Don't worry, my part-time salary for last month is about to be paid, and my sister will also give me living expenses soon. I have enough money to spend."
The other party said a few more words. Sang Muyang rubbed his eyes and said with a choked voice: "I know, don't say anymore, I know everything."
The chirping of insects could be heard in the quiet yard, and the faint laughter of women and men could be heard in the house. Sang Tianen stood in the darkness, quietly watching his brother sobbing softly over there.
The phone was finally hung up. Sang Muyang wiped his eyes, walked to the tap to wash his face, and walked back into the house as if nothing had happened.
Sang Tianen walked out of the darkness, and after a moment of silence, he took out a cigarette box from his pocket and shook out a cigarette.
Some light from the room came through, illuminating half of her face. In the semi-darkness, she lowered her head and pressed the lighter. The flame ignited and illuminated her dark eyes.
The moonlight was like frost, and the air was filled with smoke. I didn't know how long it had been, but the phone in my pocket suddenly rang. It was my second uncle calling.
"Hello, Enen, where are you? Your dad wants to discuss something with you." As soon as Sang Tianen answered the phone, he heard the anxious voice of his second uncle coming from the receiver.
"I understand." Sang Tianen responded, stood up, extinguished the cigarette, picked up all five cigarette butts on the ground and threw them into the trash can next to him, then walked to the sink to wash his face and strode towards the back door.
As soon as I opened the door, I found that all the neighbors and relatives had left, leaving only my aunt's family, Sang Tianen's family, my aunt and my grandmother.
What we are discussing is actually very simple, it is the issue of demolition.
Since many villagers in Sangjia Village were unwilling to be relocated, the government introduced a policy that those who agreed to be relocated would be given corresponding compensation by the government, while those who were unwilling to be relocated would stay here, and it was up to the villagers themselves to decide whether to stay or go.
My aunt's family wants to be relocated. After all, they can get several houses at once and a considerable amount of compensation. Zhaoyang City is a first-tier city in the east, and the housing prices are very high. It is easy to know what to choose.
Sang Tianen's father also wanted to demolish the house, but his mother disagreed.
As a family member, Sang Tianen also expressed her thoughts - she disagreed with the demolition and stated the various reasons.
Sang's mother has always been on the same front with Sang Tianen, and Zuo Danqing is afraid of her daughter. Even if the little aunt next to her is anxious, it is of no use.
Sang Rou finally chose to reject the document issued by the government asking whether she agreed to the demolition and signed her name.
