Chapter 78: I've Been Poor and Rich

"No, I'm actually very happy to hear you say that. At least it proves that I still look quite young." Yan Zheng blinked and smiled softly.

The two of them started chatting like this. Although Zhou Feiyang was a rich young man, he gave Yan Zheng the feeling of being a young master who was ignorant of the world. In addition, he spoke softly and was very cultured, so Yan Zheng was happy to talk to him.

It took about five or six minutes to get from the waiting hall to the apron. When they got off the car, the captain and several flight attendants were already standing there to greet them. As soon as they saw Xia Baichuan getting off the car, they immediately called him "Mr. Xia" respectfully.

The plane was bigger than Sang Tianen had imagined. It had twelve seats and was very spacious. Since they knew each other, Sang Tianen and a few others sat together, while the two children sat a little further back.

Not long after they sat down, the plane began to taxi on the runway. The moment it left the ground, Sang Tianen clenched his fists tightly and closed his eyes.

The increasing speed pushed her towards the back of the chair. The feeling of weightlessness during the climb made her heart beat wildly, and her eardrums seemed to be blocked by a ball of cotton.

She seemed to be sinking into the water. Everything around her became extremely hazy, and the memories filled with hatred and sorrow in the depths of her soul came flooding back like waves.

She was 22 years old that year, and she was also sitting on a plane like this. The difference was that the plane she was on was a cheap flight that she had booked.

She hugged the worn schoolbag tightly, her palms wet with sweat. The excitement of going to the world's top science and technology college and the pain of being beaten twisted her heart like flames.

She felt both pain and a kind of almost twisted pleasure.

The city's buildings gradually turned into small black dots before her eyes, and the places that once made her feel pain and despair blurred into shadows.

The imaginary gills opened behind her ears, and fresh air continued to pour in. She tilted her beautiful neck back and breathed greedily, as if her whole body was about to float in the abundant air.

We are like duckweed, and should follow the will of heaven. But how can we live our whole life at the mercy of fate?

So, she tore out the bond with her own hands, belt and tendons. At that moment, she was heartbroken and despairing, and she used her already broken soul and body to pay tribute to the sin of blood.

From then on, she was just a woman named Zhang Ruonan. Even though she was alone, she would carve out a place for herself in this world where the strong prey on the weak like a ferocious hungry wolf.

With such a determined heart, she completed her graduate studies in a year and a half, and successfully got a job at one of the world's top technology companies right after graduation.

However, her life did not stop there. At the age of 27, she quit her well-paid job and began to study economics. Two years later, she obtained a master's degree and joined an international financial investment company in the same year. Two years later, she quit her job again to study philosophy. Four years later, she returned to China and founded her own private equity fund in City N.

This was the proudest moment in her short life. However, a year later she was diagnosed with cancer and died six months later at a friend's home in the suburbs of Beijing.

She had been poor and rich throughout her life, but in the end she was nothing more than a handful of earth, like the shadow of a bird passing through the sky. No one would remember her and no one would shed a tear for her.

A hand suddenly rested on the back of her hand, and the warm touch brought Sang Tianen back to her senses. She moved her eyelids, opened her eyes, and looked at the man next to her, using her eyes to signal to him what was wrong.

"You didn't look very well just now. Are you feeling unwell?" Yan Zheng explained.

"Yes, my ears feel a little uncomfortable." Sang Tianen said with a smile, pointing to his ears.

"You can try pinching your nose and blowing air in. It will help a lot." Zhou Feiyang said across from him, demonstrating the action, "Like this."

His movements were somewhat cute, and Sang Tianen couldn't help but chuckle and said, "Thank you." He also imitated him a few times and indeed felt much more comfortable.

In fact, she knew this method of relief, but she was embarrassed to do it in front of Yan Zheng. Now someone handed her a ladder, so she climbed down the slope.

After a period of shaking, the plane finally stabilized. Several flight attendants brought in a lot of food and drinks. Sang Tianen wiped his hands with a sterilized towel, ordered a glass of champagne, and began to sip it.

"I heard from Fei Yu that you are working in Qi Tian now?" Xia Baichuan took a sip of champagne with reserve and spoke first.

"Yeah, just enough to make a living." Sang Tianen said, shaking the wine glass.

Xia Baichuan was amused and covered his mouth with his hands as he said, "You are just a joke kid. If you just try to make a living, then our Feiyu will be like a beggar under the overpass."

"Uncle, you're joking. Fei Yu is just not serious about his work." Sang Tianen said politely.

Xia Baichuan cracked his lips and waved his hands: "I don't know my own child, but she insisted on setting up a game company recently. She almost squandered all her mother's fortune."

"How could that be? I still believe in Fei Yu's ability." Sang Tianen said without blushing or panting.

"Why do you only talk about jade, kid? Tell me about yourself, are you still playing stocks?" Xia Baichuan changed the subject.

"I haven't played it for a long time. If you walk by the river, you will get your feet wet. I lost a lot of money a few years ago and I stopped playing it." Sang Tianen smiled embarrassedly.

A trace of disappointment flashed across Xia Baichuan's eyes. He said with regret, "Back then, Feiyu told me that your annualized return could reach over 80%. I was thinking of hiring you to manage my personal finances, but you turned around and became a programmer."
