Chapter 410: Disunity

Meng hadn't expected Liu to brazenly attack her, especially in front of the boss. She was so angry she nearly lost her temper. She pointed at Liu and yelled at the boss, "Are you dead? If you don't beat this whore to death today, I'll die! I'll die in front of you!"

She fully expected that the eldest brother would be the same as before. Not only would he give Liu a slap in the face, but he would at least slap her twice.

But the boss just glanced at her indifferently and said, "I didn't see anything."

As he said this, he pulled away.

"You bastard, let's see if you get a good death tomorrow!" Meng was so angry that she almost vomited blood. She got up and wanted to teach Liu a lesson herself.

She swung her arms, but before she could get close to Liu, the eldest brother, saying, "What are you doing?", shoved her. In his frustration, he shoved her with a bit too much force, sending Old Meng crashing to the ground. She landed right where Liu had pushed her, her bottom half numb from the fall.

This guy made Mrs. Meng furious. She immediately slapped her legs and howled at the top of her lungs, "Old man, someone is going to die. Come and see your good son. He is even beating up his own mother. I will not live any longer..."

Old Ding didn't sleep well yesterday because he was too excited. After coming back and having lunch, he took a nap in his room. Anyway, the second and third sons were helping to plant the three acres of land of the sixth son today, so he took a break and went to sleep with his family.

He was sleeping soundly when Meng's howling woke him up. He got up in a daze and walked out to see Meng rolling on the ground. When he asked her, he heard Meng howling and saying that the eldest brother and his wife had beaten her.

This is outrageous. If the boss dares to hit his mother today, will he beat his father tomorrow?

Old Ding glanced around, strode to the corner, picked up a hoe and went straight to the boss.

"His father, run, run!" Liu saw that Old Ding's eyes were wide open and he looked extremely vicious. She was afraid that he would dig out half of the eldest brother's head with a hoe in anger, so she hurriedly pushed the eldest brother out and asked him to go out and hide first.

The eldest brother has obeyed his father's orders since he was a child. Old Dingtou is his life role model. In his heart, he is like the mountains and the sea. He never dares to disobey him.

Among the six brothers, Old Ding has always looked up to him and asked his brothers to follow his example in everything. As a result, the eldest brother has become more self-disciplined and takes the lead in everything, setting an example.

Since he went back to Zhuling County to sell grain, Old Dingtou gradually treated him differently. He always showed his dissatisfaction with him in both open and covert ways, as if it was his fault that he didn't make any money from selling grain. Gradually, the boss also lost interest in him and was no longer as proactive and attentive as before.

But the reverence he had felt for his father over the years was ingrained in him. When he saw Old Ding rushing towards him with a hoe in hand, he was completely stunned, his mind blank. It wasn't until Liu pushed him several times that he came to his senses and ran out of the yard.

If he hadn't run away and been dug up by the hoe, how would he have survived?

He is not stupid.

The eldest brother ran a long way before he stopped. Thinking of his father's attitude just now, as if he really wanted to kill him, he felt a little scared. At the same time, the anger in his heart was also growing bit by bit.

He swears to God that he had no intention of hitting his mother at all. He couldn't even remember what the situation was at that time. He only knew that his mother was trying to beat Liu like crazy, and he subconsciously pushed his mother away, but he used a little too much force.

The force wasn't strong enough, how could his mother have pushed it open like that?

The eldest brother didn't think he had done anything wrong. Since he couldn't go home for a while, he simply borrowed a hoe from someone and carried it to the field.

"Brother, you're back? How's everything going?"

On the way, the eldest brother met Fang and Gao who were helping to weed in the fields. When they saw him, they hurried forward to greet him, but the eldest brother glanced at them silently, then carried his hoe and walked away without saying a word.

"What's going on?" Gao turned her head to look at him and muttered.

Fang tugged at her, "Why ask? Something must have gone wrong. Just go back and ask your parents and you'll know. Let's go."

When the eldest brother passed by the third brother's few acres of land, the third brother called him, "Brother, you're back. Where's our father?"

"Don't mention it." The eldest brother put down his hoe and slammed it on the ground. "Listen to me, from now on, don't follow Mom and Dad's lead. Ever since the fourth brother moved out, Mom and Dad have never had anything go smoothly. The whole village has game to eat, but which of our families has ever gotten a bite? It's all thanks to Mom and Dad. If you listen to them, you'll suffer the consequences."

"What's going on? Tell me quickly."

The second brother also came over dragging a hoe.

The eldest brother explained the whole thing to them. "How can this be possible? Your eldest sister-in-law and I didn't take a penny with us, and Dad and Mom refused to give us any money. If it weren't for the fourth brother's wife, your eldest sister-in-law and I would still be on the road right now! It's so fucking infuriating!"

The second and third sons always listened to the eldest, especially the third. "Dad and Mom are too much. My eldest brother has done the most work in the family since we were young. A rickshaw only costs a few dollars, but they have the heart to let my eldest brother and his wife walk back home. It's not even ten miles away. You can't find such cruel parents in the world!"

"Brother, did you really fight with Mom?" asked the second brother.

"You son of a bitch, have you got any brains? How could I fight with mother? After all, she is our mother. How could I do such a thing that would get me struck by lightning? Others don't know what kind of person our mother is, but you know her? I didn't hit her. She looked like she could eat your sister-in-law alive. I just blocked her. Mother lost her balance, and you blame me?"

"Our mother is really something, and so is our father!" The third brother got angry when he thought about it. He and the second brother went to the fields early in the morning. Thinking that the eldest brother and his parents had gone to the county for their family's affairs, they first picked up a few loads of manure to water the three acres of land of the eldest and sixth brothers, and then loosened the land and weeded. After finishing their six acres of land, they came to work on their own land. They didn't expect that it was all in vain.
