Chapter 53 A Man is coming

Huo Jincheng went to the toilet again and again and successfully attracted Jian Ning's attention.

At first, she thought it was because he drank too much. Some people have to go to the bathroom even after drinking water, but his frequency was too high, which was obviously not right.

When he went to the toilet again, she looked towards their table and found that Ding Youtian glanced at Huo Jincheng with his eyebrows raised, and a hint of satisfaction after revenge appeared at the corner of his lips.

Jian Ning's mind was filled with black lines, remembering that Tian had mentioned before that he and Huo Jincheng seemed to have something dirty going on. After all, he was a big customer of theirs, so he shouldn't do that to him.

Huo Jincheng went to the toilet seven or eight times in a row. His legs were so weak from diarrhea that he felt a burning pain somewhere. He came out of the toilet rubbing his stomach and looked up to see Jian Ning standing outside the toilet with her arms folded across her chest.

He felt like he was struck by lightning. He was playing the piano so loudly that it shook the earth. Wouldn't the woman who was waiting outside hear everything?

"Follow me." After saying that, Jian Ning turned around and walked towards the back door of the kitchen.

Those three short words seemed to carry an irresistible magic, and he couldn't help but follow them.

"Drink it." Jian Ning handed him a bowl of water. He tasted it and it was salty and sweet. "What did you give me to drink?" His brows were knotted.

"Don't worry about drinking. I won't poison my big customer." Jian Ning stared at him as he finished drinking, then took a stool and said, "Sit down and take off your pants."

Isn’t this woman too shameless?

"Hurry up, don't dawdle." Jane Ning had already raised the syringe. "I'm not asking you to take off all your pants, just pull them down a little."

She looked frank, but he was still hesitant.

Jian Ning said, "How about I ask Xiao Jin to give you the injection? I've taught him before, and he's done experiments on horses' butts. Do you want me to ask him to come?"

Huo Jincheng closed his eyes and decisively pulled down his pants. He had heard about what happened last time. Yang Jinyu broke the needle and was almost hit by a horse's leg.

This woman actually called him Xiao Jin. They were just master and disciple, was there any need to call him so intimately?

Jin Yu is kind-hearted and easy to deceive. Whenever he sees something good, the first thing he thinks of is to buy it for this woman's child.

"Hiss!" He gasped and couldn't help complaining, "Be gentle, will you give me an injection?"

"Can you inject yourself? A grown man is afraid of the pain of an injection, but Brother Ma didn't even make a sound even though he was injured like that." Jian Ning pulled out the needle, pressed it with a cotton swab for a while, wiped it, and then threw the cotton swab into the stove.

"Okay, you can pull up your pants now." Jian Ning turned her head and saw Huo Jincheng still sitting there obediently. She left a packet of pills on the stove. "Take one pill at a time. If it's not healed yet, take another pill after two and a half hours. Two or three pills at most will be enough."

Jian Ning went out, and Ding Youtian came in. He saw Huo Jincheng pulling up his trousers. Thinking of Jian Ning who had just left, he stared at Huo Jincheng with a sinister look in his eyes, "What are you doing here?"

When Huo Jincheng saw him, he suddenly remembered that it was the wine he poured that had caused his diarrhea. Meeting Ding Youtian's gaze, he gave him a look that suggested he had guessed it, and deliberately straightened his clothes before picking up the pills on the stove and walking away with his head held high, feeling refreshed.

If he hadn't been so hypocritical, Ding Youtian might have thought the wrong thing. And since he'd clearly seen Jian Ning grab pills before leaving, he knew Jian Ning had given him an injection. He'd come looking for him because he'd taken a long time to use the restroom, and thinking he'd already taught him a lesson, he went to the room to get some anti-diarrhea medicine.

Last time, when Da Niu had diarrhea, his wife gave her an injection and she got better after taking a pill.

Jian Ning had the syringe and the white pills clearly marked, saying they were given by Yang Jinyu, who had studied Western medicine with a person from the Great Yue Kingdom. She and Yang Jinyu had discussed their story, and they agreed. So Jian Ning now kept a stockpile of commonly used medications at home, and had Ding Youtian label the directions and dosages in traditional Chinese characters.

In fact, Jian Ning can recognize most traditional Chinese characters, but she is not very good at writing with a brush, otherwise Ding Youtian would not need to do it for her.

Huo Jincheng returned to the table, and Yang Jinyu asked him, "Why have you been gone for so long? Do you feel better now?"

"I was drugged, you really don't know?" Huo Jincheng asked him back.

In all honesty, Yang Jinyu wanted to say that he really didn't know at first, but after going to the toilet over and over again, he finally knew. But Ding Youtian said he just wanted to give him a hard time and would give him medicine later. What could he do?

He could only pretend to be surprised and said, "Are you overthinking it? No one here has any grudge against you. Why would such a good person try to poison you?"

Ultimately, Huo Jincheng only had suspicions, not solid evidence. However, through this incident, he truly realized that Yang Jinyu's medical skills were inadequate and inexperienced. If he'd gone to the restroom a few more times, the woman would have known he had diarrhea and needed medication or injections. Yang Jinyu, sitting next to him, hadn't noticed.

He patted Yang Jinyu's shoulder meaningfully and said, "It seems that your good master is hiding something from you. You'd better be more careful. Don't let her sell you out and then you count the money for her."

Yang Jinyu smiled without comment.

In the afternoon, the horse-drawn carriages that came to pick up goods entered the village one after another. On the way back after saying goodbye, Yang Jinyu and Huo Jincheng kept seeing horse-drawn carriages heading towards Dingjia Village, more than twice as many as in the morning.

In the carriage, Yang Jinyu patted the jar of wine that Jian Ning had given to his grandfather and asked Huo Jincheng with a sidelong glance, "If Yunshan Cui becomes the royal wine, will my master become the richest woman in Dayan Kingdom?"

"Three hundred taels. I've already repaid her for saving my life. I'll come pick up the goods in a month and ship them to the capital. I'll just say I went to Dayue Country. I won't do her any favors."

"You're sending a few jars to the capital, aren't you? If the prince wants to drink, don't you think he won't offer it to the emperor? If the emperor wants more after drinking it, and sends someone to Dayue Kingdom to buy it, are you sure you can bear the crime of deceiving the emperor?"

Huo Jincheng had never thought about this.

What to do, can he ask for the return of the goods and money?

"You said you would pick up the goods in a month. Dazhou County is so big. Have you thought about where to find someone?" Yang Jinyu asked again.

"Let's go to Jin County first. The Crown Prince has spies in Prince Yong's mansion. On the day of the Emperor's birthday, Prince Yong received a secret report saying that someone had seen Nan Yangzi in Jin County."

"Going there is like looking for a needle in a haystack. You've never seen him, and you don't have a portrait. How are you going to find him?" Yang Jinyu was a little worried about him. "Besides, Prince Yong's men are also looking for him in Jin County. If they target him again, what if something happens to you, Ah Man?"

Ah Man is Huo Jincheng's daughter, she is seven years old this year. When she learned that Huo Jincheng was injured, she went to his father to make trouble every day, jumping up and down and wanting to come to Baisha Town to find her father. His father was so annoyed that he sent Ah Man out of the capital a few days ago, and she will arrive in Baisha Town soon.

This was a thorny matter. He couldn't take his daughter to Jin County; that would be too dangerous... An idea suddenly occurred to him. "How about this: When Ah Man arrives, please send her to your master's place. She'll definitely make a fuss if she stays with you. She'll have children to keep her company at your master's place, so I believe she'll be able to stay. I'll take her away when I go to pick up the goods. How do you think?"
