This thing is so common in the US, especially at parties, it's practically a must-have.
In some states, it was legalized outright.
Cao Kun: "Besides these, is there nothing else?"
Liv-Taylor: "Of course, some men and women can't resist and find a place to relieve themselves, but I didn't."
Cao Kun thought about it and decided that he probably wouldn't go that far as to do such a thing.
Unless, there's something unclean in that place that's particularly averse to such things.
Whoever does this in front of him, he will kill.
It's not impossible, but the probability is quite small.
Cao Kun: "You just said that two people died, named Peck and Ma Zhen. What did they do?"
Liv-Taylor: "Nothing much, just like us."
Cao Kun: "So far, how many people have died?"
Liv Taylor: "Five. I know Peck and Majen, and there are three others I don't know, but who have been to parties before."
Cao Kun: "How many people were there that night?"
“More than forty people,” Liv-Taylor said. “Master Cao Kun, the police have asked all these questions, but they haven’t found any leads.”
All I know now is that those people died in a very strange way.
Several people died while under police protection.
Moreover, there was no murderer at the scene; they died suddenly.
According to the police, there were no signs of forced entry.
"An ordinary person couldn't possibly do that; only a ghost could. That's why I called you."
Cao Kun fell silent.
This whole thing is a bit strange.
After a normal party ends, the partygoers begin to die.
Five people have died in just a few days; the frequency of deaths is quite fast.
More importantly, there seems to be nothing in common among them.
But Cao Kun knew that was impossible.
There must be something in common, but Liv-Taylor and the others don't know it.
"Could someone have poisoned the drinks they were drinking?"
"No, if they were poisoned, how could they die one after another? It's more likely they died together."
"Was it some kind of evil spell cast on them, and the person behind it used it to kill them?"
"But why would someone with such abilities kill Liv Taylor and the others?"
"Extortion? You want money?"
Thinking of this, Cao Kun asked Li Fu-Taylor, "Who are the people attending your party?"
Liv Taylor: "Actors, models, fashion professionals, and some children of the wealthy."
Cao Kun: "So, they're all rich people?"
Ray Creek-Taylor: "At least, richer than most people."
Cao Kun: "Did the five people who died receive any phone calls demanding money?"
“It seems not,” Liv-Taylor said.
Cao Kun: "Don't just say it seems like it; go and confirm it."
"I'll go ask Officer Lake at the door."
Liv-Taylor was about to leave when she became a little worried: "Master Cao Kun, why don't you come with me?"
Cao Kun: "The death aura on you isn't that strong yet. You won't die anytime soon, so don't worry."
Liv-Taylor was speechless for a moment, what did he mean by not dying anytime soon?
But in any case, Cao Kun's words offered her some comfort.
She hurried out the door, and soon returned jogging back: "It's confirmed. None of the five deceased received any phone calls demanding money before their deaths."
"How could that be?" Cao Kun was full of doubt.
After reviewing the known information, Cao Kun said, "In this situation, there are only two possibilities."
You have unintentionally offended a petty ghost, or perhaps a powerful person.
You have offended the other side without realizing it, so that thing wants to kill you all.
"Secondly, that person is after your money. He hasn't started demanding it yet, but he wants to intimidate you and make you afraid first."
When you are scared enough, the other party will ask you for money.
You can avoid death as long as you pay.
At this point, will you give it to them or not?
Liv-Taylor didn't even hesitate: "Of course I'll give it to you."
Cao Kun: "Then the other side has achieved its goal."
Liv Taylor: "So, all of this was done by humans?"
Cao Kun: "I'm just saying it's possible, maybe it's the first one, that you've unintentionally offended some powerful being."
Think carefully, did you get into any conflicts with anyone at the party?
Without a second thought, Liv-Taylor replied, "No, I'm timid and rarely argue or get into conflicts with people."
Cao Kun: "It doesn't necessarily mean there was a conflict, or that some behavior of yours made others unhappy."
Think again, have you done anything out of line?
Liv-Taylor recalled: "Really, no, it was just a regular party."
I've been to many of these parties, and nothing has ever happened before.
Furthermore, I'm hesitant to try anything too outrageous.
Cao Kun: "Then we'll treat it as the second scenario."
Finding the murderer is now quite simple.
There are two methods.
First, gather the rest of you together. I'll check who doesn't have the aura of death on them. The person without the aura of death might be the murderer.
Second, think about things you all did that the murderer didn't.
Liv-Taylor recalled again: "I don't remember drinking a lot that night, and it was no different from usual."
I didn't pay attention to anyone at the party, so I don't know who did what or who didn't.
Cao Kun: "Then we can only gather the remaining people together."
Liv Taylor: "I'm going right now."
"Wait a minute," Cao Kun called out to her, "We haven't settled our payment yet."
Liv-Taylor: "How many do you want?"
Cao Kun: "We still don't know exactly what situation you've encountered."
I wonder just how strong the thing that wants to kill you really is.
But I can assure you, I will save your life.
I'll give you two choices.
First, give me $3 million.
If it turns out that the situation is more complicated than I expected, I will pay more.
How much to add depends on the final outcome.
Second, a fixed price: $6 million.
Liv Taylor: "So, no matter what kind of opponent I'm facing, I'm only giving you $6 million, right?"
Cao Kun: "That's right. Even if it turns out he's just an ordinary person, you still have to give me $6 million."
Liv Taylor: "You're really asking for a lot. All the money I've made over the years is only a little over 10 million dollars."
After paying taxes and various expenses, that's about all that's left.
Now you're going to empty my balance.
Cao Kun: "You can also refuse and choose another exorcist."
Liv Taylor: "No need, $6 million is $6 million. If I lose money, I can earn it back. If I lose my life, I lose everything."
Cao Kun: "A smart choice."
Liv-Taylor went into her bag, took out her checkbook, and quickly wrote a check for Cao Kun: "Here's 2 million for you. The rest, I'll give you after I'm out of danger."
"Deal." Cao Kun took the check. "Now, you can go and call your men."
Just as Liv Taylor was about to make a call, her phone rang first.
Li Fu took it and saw that it was an unfamiliar number.
