Chapter 202 Having Too Much Food

Upon hearing Sophia mention that someone wanted to join the Aikun religion, Cao Kun paused in his tracks: "What did you do? How could anyone want to join the religion?"

Sofia: "I didn't do anything. Someone just wanted to recruit me into another religion. I told them I was already a member, and after they told me, they wanted to join our Aikun religion."

Cao Kun: "Who?"

Sofia: "You know her, Ellen."

Cao Kun thought for a moment before remembering who this Ellen was: "Lawrence's wife?"

That's Lawrence, the one whose daughter went missing, and his newlywed wife.

She also wanted to seduce Cao Kun, hoping he would kill Lawrence so she could share Lawrence's fortune with him.

Sofia: "It's her."

Cao Kun: "What did you say to her?"

Sofia: "She didn't say anything, just that you and I are from the same church."

Cao Kun understood.

Allen hasn't given up yet.

He also wanted to persuade him through Sophia in order to achieve his goal.

Cao Kun: "This person wants to get rid of Lawrence, so don't get too close to her."

“Hehe…” Sophia laughed nonchalantly, “What’s so strange about that? Go and ask around, how many young wives in this kind of family atmosphere want to kill their old husbands?”

Those people didn't take action simply because they hadn't encountered someone with your immense power.

They don't have the ability to do that.

Once they encounter it, they definitely won't miss it.

Cao Kun had to admit that Sophia had a point.

Perhaps not all women are like that.

But the proportion is at least more than half.

What do they want from marrying men like that? Is it the Mediterranean Sea that they can see at any time?

Is it still that big belly that could support a boat?

Given the opportunity to acquire such a large sum of money—an inheritance they had long coveted—without paying a heavy price, how could they possibly refuse?

Getting it in advance means you can enjoy life sooner.

Cao Kun: "Just ignore her."

Sophia: "I understand, but, Master, are you really not considering taking on more people?"

Cao Kun glared at Sophia: "This is just for show, what kind of people are you recruiting?"

Sofia: "No, I have registered 'Aikun Church'. Now, our 'Aikun Church' is legal and can proselytize and recruit people normally."

Cao Kun was taken aback, then angrily said, "I think you're just bored and have nothing better to do."

Sofia chuckled, "Yes, who makes me eat so much every time?"

"Damn, you need to be taught a lesson again." Cao Kun walked towards Sophia.

It was more than an hour later when Cao Kun left Sophia's house.

He drove to the wasteland where he had previously made the deal with Hunter Lee.

When he arrived, Hunter Lee was already there waiting for him.

Hunter-Lee had dozens of his underlings waiting in place, while he himself walked up to meet Cao Kun.

Cao Kun glanced at Hunter Lee, then at his underlings behind him: "Looks like you're doing pretty well lately."

Hunter-Lee laughed and said, "We have to thank Mr. Cao for bringing back that batch of goods."

During that period, there weren't many retailers in Los Angeles with stock, which allowed me to make a profit and expand my influence.

At this point, his face fell: "But not long after, those gangs took back the goods, and this was the only place I could go."

Cao Kun knew that those gangs were backed by the CIA.

With the CIA involved, getting the goods back is naturally not a problem.

It just takes some time to smooth things over.

The CIA also needs to cultivate relationships with the state police there.

Hunter Lee, on the other hand, capitalized on Cao Kun's timing to create an opportunity.

Cao Kun: "Who's behind you?"

Hunter Lee was taken aback, not expecting Cao Kun to ask this directly. He hesitated for a moment, unsure whether he should answer.

Cao Kun: "Is that Manes, the director of the 22nd Inspectorate?"

Hunter Lee was surprised: "Mr. Cao, how did you know?"

Cao Kun ignored him: "Manes is 64 years old this year and will retire in a little over two years."

In other words, his power is no longer effective.

At this point, if someone wants to harm you, you no longer need to consider their feelings.

Hunter Lee tentatively said, "Manes isn't that bad, is he? Even if he's retired, his influence in the police system is still valuable."

He also promised me that he would introduce me to the new director when he retired.

Cao Kun: "What if the people at FBI want to use you to gain merit and climb the ranks?"

Hunter Lee was at a loss for words.

If it's FbI, there's nothing Manes can do.

Cao Kun handed a list to Hunter Lee: "Take a look."

Hunter Lee took a look and his expression changed drastically. A huge wave of emotions surged within him: "Mr. Cao... does the FBI want to take down our gangs?"

Cao Kun: "Didn't I tell you already?"

Hunter Lee: "No... that's unlikely. Our gangs combined can't take it down unless the FBI launches a large-scale war against us."

Cao Kun said calmly, "What if I were to make the move?"

Hunter Lee instinctively stepped back.

To be honest, he didn't know just how strong Cao Kun was.

However, he was able to wipe out the Wild Wolf Gang under his command all by himself.

They can bring that batch of goods back from the border within a few hours.

These things are completely beyond the scope of ordinary people.

And now, Cao Kun is displaying a confidence... no, not confidence, but composure.

It seems that these gangs are not taken seriously at all, and are not worth mentioning.

This nonchalance terrified Hunter Lee even more.

"Want to see my power?" Cao Kun seemed to have seen through Hunter Lee's thoughts.

Hunter Lee hesitated for a moment, then nodded.

Cao Kun turned his gaze to Hunter Lee's back, where there were more than forty henchmen.

He waved his right hand in the air, as if he had flung something invisible away, but Hunter Lee saw nothing.

Just then, he saw Cao Kun snap his fingers: "Die!"

Instantly, all the henchmen began to wail in pain.

They screamed and fell to the ground, writhing in agony.

Hunter Lee turned his head and saw that, at some point, black worms, about the size of an adult's thumb, had crawled out of these people.

The insects swarmed in and out, soon engulfing the people completely like a black tide.

The screams of those people abruptly stopped as Hunter Lee stared in disbelief.

"Disperse!"

Before long, Cao Kun gave a soft shout, and all the insects disappeared again, as if it had all been an illusion.

However, Hunter Lee knew that it was not an illusion.

Because all of his more than 40 henchmen had disappeared.

All that remained was a pile of clothes; the 40-plus henchmen had vanished without a trace.

Ta-da...

Hunter Lee retreated repeatedly, trying to increase the distance between himself and Cao Kun.

He retreated too quickly, lost his balance, and fell flat on his backside.

He then braced himself with his hands on the ground and continued to back away.

His face was filled with deep fear.

"Do you think I can handle dealing with your gangs?"

Cao Kun's gaze fell on him, and he asked softly.
