Chapter 15 An Exorbitant Demand

"Cao?"

Upon seeing that the person who entered was Cao Kun, and hearing his words, the three of them immediately turned pale.

James Mangold asked, "Where did you go just now?"

"Does that even matter?" Douglas Wick interrupted him, asking Cao Kun, "Are you sure Master Rosen is dead?"

Cao Kun: "If you don't believe me, you can come with me and see for yourself."

The three men shuddered, their faces turning deathly pale. Master Rosen had died there; how could they dare to go?

"You can go in and bring Master Rosen out so we can see if he's really dead," said the chubby Mark.

Cao Kun frowned, his sharp gaze piercing Mark's face. Mark immediately felt as if his face was being cut by a knife, and a sharp pain shot through him.

He couldn't help but swallow, his heart pounding.

Cao Kun narrowed his eyes, a sinister aura emanating from him: "Do you want the police to think I killed him when I'm moving his body at this time?"

Mark's body trembled uncontrollably. Right now, Cao Kun felt like an evil spirit to him, and he didn't even dare to look Cao Kun in the eye.

He quickly waved his hand: "That's not what I meant, I just..."

"Alright." Cao Kun raised his hand to interrupt him: "You can choose to call the police and let them go inside to check."

"Yes, yes, we can call the police."

The three then remembered that there was another way.

In that moment of panic, I was completely lost and my mind went blank.

Douglas Wick quickly took out his phone and dialed 911.

After waiting for more than half an hour, a police car and a forensic vehicle stopped at the hospital entrance.

Two police officers and two forensic doctors in their uniforms walked in.

Douglas Wick quickly stepped forward to greet him.

After explaining the situation, the four entered the abandoned area.

After waiting for another half hour, two forensic doctors carried a stretcher out from inside. The person on the stretcher had already been put into a body bag.

Douglas and his two companions paled even further.

Seeing this, they knew perfectly well that Master Rosen was truly dead.

Mustering his courage, Douglas asked, "May I take a look?"

Soon, the body bag was unzipped, revealing Master Rosen's twisted, terrified, and hideous face.

Those two eyes, mostly white, seemed to be staring at Douglas in front of the body bag.

Douglas glanced at it once and then stepped back, not daring to look again.

The two police officers also looked somewhat serious. One of the older officers said to Douglas and the other two, "I've handled so many cases over the years, and I've seen this kind of situation several times."

You'd better leave this place quickly; it's too dangerous.

Upon hearing this, the three of them wore bitter expressions.

If it were the start of filming, they would definitely pack up and leave without saying a word.

But now, they've been filming for over a month, and if they leave, all the money they've invested will be wasted.

In 1998, digital camcorders were just emerging, and all shooting was done on film, which was extremely expensive.

In addition to the various preparations made in the early stages, although filming has only been going on for a month, more than half of the costs have already been spent.

This tells them how to proceed.

It was precisely for this reason that Cao Kun allowed all of this to erupt at this point in time.

After seeing the police off, the three of them turned around and looked at Cao Kun.

Cao Kun smiled; he had been preparing for so long, and he was finally about to earn this money.

Douglas Wick personally pulled over a chair: "Damn, please sit down."

After Cao Kun sat down, he asked again, "James said you are an exorcist, is that true?"

Cao Kun countered, "Why do you think Rosen wanted to get rid of me?"

The three looked surprised.

I don't know how Cao Kun found out about this.

They also realized why Cao Kun had hidden himself earlier.

Douglas Wick stopped probing and asked directly, "Damn, can you solve our current problem?"

Cao Kun replied calmly, "Of course."

Seeing Cao Kun's confidence, the three men felt a glimmer of hope in their hearts.

Douglas Wick: "Then I'll leave all of this to you."

Cao Kun waved his hand: "Let's talk about the price first."

"Yes, that's how it should be."

The three men exchanged glances, and then Mark, the chubby man from the insurance company, said, "Damn, if you can solve this problem, we'll pay you $20,000."

To show our sincerity, I can give you $5,000 now as an advance payment.

Cao Kun's face darkened, and without saying a word, he got up and left.

Damn it, are they trying to fob me off like a beggar?

Give that Master Rosen $1.2 million, and give me $20,000.

Cao Kun suppressed his anger and refrained from making a move to crush the fat man to death.

"Wait, damn it."

The chubby guy shouted from behind, "Not satisfied? I'll give you another 10,000."

As Cao Kun stepped out of the office, his eyes flashed with murderous intent.

He was already considering whether to kill the entire crew.

Ignoring the sounds behind him, Cao Kun arrived outside the mental hospital and saw that most of the people who had been waiting outside had already left.

Angelina and Winona's two luxury nanny vans have also disappeared.

Cao Kun knew that it was probably because the police had carried Master Rosen's body out earlier, which had scared these people away.

"Damn it, where have you been? I couldn't find you anywhere."

Ryan Reynolds and Jenny greeted Cao Kun when they saw him.

Cao Kun asked around, and sure enough, after learning that Master Rosen was dead, those people ran away faster than anyone else.

The rest were also preparing to leave.

Ryan and his companion were somewhat frightened. "Damn, wasn't Master Rosen supposed to be very powerful? How did he die?"

Cao Kun said calmly, "The things inside are even more powerful."

Ryan and his companion paled slightly: "Can you handle this?"

Just as Cao Kun was about to speak, the short, chubby director strode over and said, "Damn, let's talk."

Cao Kun said coldly, "I don't think it's necessary."

James Mangold looked somewhat embarrassed after being directly rejected.

But being someone who works in this industry, he had enough thick skin: "Damn, there might be some misunderstanding here."

“Really?” Cao Kun stared at him: “You gave Rosen $1.2 million and gave me $20,000, and you call this a misunderstanding?”

James Mangold's expression became even more awkward, and he was also a little puzzled as to how Cao Kun knew so much.

But now was clearly not the time to dwell on that, he said, "Damn..."

Cao Kun interrupted him: "If it's less than $1.2 million, there's no need to even open your mouth."

James Mangold: "This $1.2 million includes not only the price of exorcising evil spirits, but also the exorcism of discomfort from all of us."

Cao Kun: "It's not difficult."

James Mangold: "I'll go talk to them about it."

Cao Kun took out his phone and checked the time: "I'll only give you 5 minutes. Don't wait up."

James Mangold took a deep breath: "Wait for my news."

After saying that, he quickly ran into the hospital.
