In the evening, Ling Shumo, who had been reading memorials in the study all day, was preparing to go to Yuehua Palace as usual.
Then an attendant came in and said, "The virtuous prince is waiting outside. He said he has prepared lotus seed and osmanthus soup and is about to serve it to you."

Lu Jinshu originally wanted to take advantage of the meal time to chat with Ling Shumo, but Ling Shumo's mouth was full and he temporarily lost the ability to speak.
Lu Jinshu ate his meal absentmindedly, picking up food with chopsticks intermittently.
