"Two dots, three twos, and one four!"
The onlookers gasped in surprise, analyzing the numbers Bao Min had rolled.
"Wow! All five dice rolled low numbers, except for one that rolled a slightly higher four!"
"Young Master Bao has a very high chance of winning this round! Unless the opponent doesn't have any high-value dice and has very few 3s, or has three or four consecutive 1s and 2s, he's bound to lose!"
"Then the other side is definitely going to lose! How could anyone roll this die?"
Bao Min squinted as she listened to the discussion among the onlookers, a satisfied smile spreading across her face.
"Su Qinghe, my points are out, now it's your turn!" Bao Min said casually, drawing out her words.
"Wait!"
Su Qinghe took the dice cup from the oxcart, placed it in her hand, and began to shake it.
Bao Min had already flipped the card slot back when she opened the cup, but that didn't affect Su Qinghe. Although she knew how to use it, she could still get small numbers even without using it.
With her skill and the already noticeable weight difference, it was easy for her to make the side with the metal plate facing up.
However, she didn't want to win the first game; that would be too boring!
Su Qinghe opened the dice cup after shaking it for a short while, and Bao Min leaned over to take a look.
"One two points, two four points, two five points, and one six points!"
"Hahahaha, Su Qinghe, you lost this round!" Although she knew this would be the result, Bao Min still couldn't stop laughing.
The onlookers didn't react much to the result of the game, since they all thought Su Qinghe was bound to lose.
"Don't be so happy yet, there are still two rounds left, aren't there?"
Su Qinghe smiled and put the dice cup back on the oxcart. She pressed down hard on the slot with her finger and flattened the protruding part, making it stick to the side of the cup and impossible to pry off!
"Hmph! Even if we play ten more rounds, the result will be the same!"
Bao Min placed her hand on the dice cup and began to shake it. When she thought the time was almost up and touched the slot, she was instantly stunned!
Where is her switch?
Unconvinced, Bao Min carefully searched the surrounding area again. When she finally found a small, flat object in the crevices where the switch had originally been, she stared wide-eyed in disbelief.
"Damn Su Qinghe, she's gotten stronger since becoming a hunter!"
Bao Min cursed inwardly, but even so, she only thought that Su Qinghe had accidentally pressed it with her finger, and did not consider that she had discovered the clues here.
She continued to pry at the tiny bump with her fingers, trying to pry it open. But each time she managed to get her nail on the edge of the bump and apply a little force, it would bounce off.
Damn it! How can it be so tightly locked!
There's nothing we can do now but rely on luck!
"Open!" Bao Min gritted her teeth and just as she raised the dice cup.
"One two points, two three points, two five points, and one six points."
"Phew! At least it wasn't all big points!"
Bao Min breathed a sigh of relief. She knew that there were stickers inside the small dots, so it was easier for the large dots to appear on top. She was already very lucky to have gotten three small dots on top!
Now, it all depends on whether Su Qinghe has such good luck...
"It seems that Young Master Bao has used up all his good luck in the last round!"
"It's better than some people having no luck at all!" Bao Min sneered.
Su Qinghe, observing Bao Min's changing expression, understood perfectly. Without making a sound, she took the dice cup and began to shake it.
"Thump, thump, thump!" The sound of the dice hitting the cup was exceptionally clear in this quiet place, and everyone held their breath, waiting for the result of this round.
If Su Qinghe loses this round, the betting game will end.
Feeling the weight of the dice in the cup, Su Qinghe still didn't want to win too extravagantly, lest it arouse suspicion. Winning was enough with 4 small points!
Soon, the dice cup was opened, and Bao Min was the first to rush over.
"One dot, two dots, one three dots, two six dots."
"impossible!"
Bao Min stared in disbelief at the number in Su Qinghe's hand. How could this be? The smaller number was much heavier and should have been pressed to the bottom.
She was already lucky to roll three small numbers, but how did Su Qinghe manage to roll four small numbers!
Could it be that her dice have been worn down due to lack of maintenance over the years?
"What's wrong, Young Master Bao?" Su Qinghe felt very pleased to see Bao Min's expression, which looked as if he had swallowed a fly.
"Hmph! I, Bao Min, am not the kind of person to go back on my word! Don't be so smug, we still have one more round to decide the winner!"
As Bao Min spoke, she covered the dice back with the dice cup, held them in her hand, and shook the hand behind her back.
Just as his hand was still in mid-air, two people suddenly darted out from behind, knocking her off balance and sending the dice cup flying from her hand.
"Thief! Thief! She stole my wallet!"
One person was running ahead, while another person shouted and chased after them. The two of them not only knocked the dice cup out of Bao Min's hand, but also swung their arms wildly as they ran, scattering the dice that had fallen into the air everywhere.
"Hey, my dice!" Bao Min pretended to be anxious and searched the floor for the dice, but in reality, she hid them all in her sleeves.
The incident happened so fast that the onlookers didn't even have time to react, and no one chased after the two people who had run far away.
Su Qinghe initially thought it was a real thief, but when she saw the two people scatter the dice, she instantly understood Bao Min's intention.
Sure enough, Bao Min returned shortly afterward with a regretful expression, carrying only three dice left. She looked at Su Qinghe with a helpless expression.
“Su Qinghe, you saw it too. The dice were scattered everywhere after those two people knocked them. I searched all around and only found these three.”
"Since we haven't decided a winner yet, let's just call it even for today. You wild boar, name your price, I'll buy it at the original price!"
When Bao Min mentioned buying Su Qinghe's wild boar at the original price, she had a very generous expression on her face.
"It's alright, Young Master Bao. I remember that Zuixianglou also often keeps dice for diners to play with."
"Anyway, it's only a street away from Zuixianglou. You can just send someone back to get another one," Su Qinghe said with a smile.
"It's almost time for dinner. My Drunken Fragrance Pavilion has some new dishes today, and it must be packed with customers by now."
“These dice need to be prepared for every table, and we don’t have any extras to bring over! Su Qinghe, I think we should call it a day! You sell me this wild boar, and I’ll treat you to a meal at Zuixianglou, how about that?”
Bao Min walked up to Su Qinghe, hoping to change her mind by inviting her to dinner.
"Manager He, what do you think?"
Su Qinghe didn't look at Bao Min, but instead turned to ask He Bai, who was watching the show from the side.
"Hahaha! Boss Su, today's betting game has been quite exciting. It looks like the outcome is about to be decided. If it ends like this without a result, I, He, will feel it's a pity!"
He Bai didn't believe that someone like Su Qinghe would make a bet with someone so casually. She must be confident that Su Qinghe was capable of it. By going along with her today, He Bai was doing her a favor.
