Chapter 201 Ji Yuan Extra

When the night was deep and quiet, he searched inside the house, but unfortunately found no sharp weapon.

He was forced to smash a teacup, and as he picked up the shards, the door opened and he was grabbed by two servants.

But... the shards cut his face.

Zhao Xin was very angry and asked a doctor to examine the injuries on his face.

She took away all the porcelain in the room and tied up his and Qingyu's hands and feet.

To prevent them from biting their tongues and committing suicide, Zhao Xin also had their mouths gagged.

He couldn't even commit suicide anymore...

Ji Yuan wept silently. Just as he was in despair, Zhao Xin's new favorite, Xiao Jun, arrived.

He sold them and even showed him the resale documents, which bore Zhao Xin's private seal.

He didn't know why Zhao Xin had suddenly changed her mind, or whether she had sold herself to the benefactor she spoke of.

He was powerless to resist and was kept locked in the dark carriage the whole way.

It wasn't until he changed hands several times that he realized he had been sold to human traffickers, not to that benefactor.

Qingyu took many more beatings for him along the way until she fell unconscious.

Human slaves are not good to them because they are of poor quality.

He had a scar on his face and had been married before. Whenever someone saw him and came up to ask him something, they would see the scar on his face and then leave.

He and Qingyu would stay until the very end every day, but they couldn't sell anything, and even brothels wouldn't want them.

Until he met his wife, who was the best female ruler in the world.

He was not good enough for her; he was very self-aware.

His wife treated him very well, never showing any disdain for him or for Qingyu's illness, and was even willing to spend so much money on them.

But Qingyu was very immature, or perhaps it was his experiences along the way that made him lose all illusions about women.

He could sense that Qingyu disliked women.

He was always on edge whenever Qingyu and his wife argued, but Qingyu's impression of women could only be changed over time, and there was nothing he could do about it.

Fortunately, Qingyu eventually fell in love with his wife and became obedient, which put his mind at ease.

He thought that he must have accumulated great blessings in his past life to be able to meet his wife in this life.

This must be destiny...

"Is this your past?"

Su Qinghe lowered her head, her eyes focused, and steadily drew eyebrows for Ji Yuan.

"Well, didn't my wife say before that she would tell you if she wanted to? I've come to terms with that now."

Ji Yuan looked at Su Qinghe's profile in the mirror with gentle eyes and raised his hand to touch it lightly.

When his own handprints on the mirror blurred Su Qinghe's profile, he picked up a handkerchief to wipe it.

He was not satisfied until Su Qinghe's face was clearly visible.

"Is this what they call 'bitter before sweet'?"

After Su Qinghe finished drawing one eyebrow, she pinched Ji Yuan's chin and looked him up and down, her face showing embarrassment.

"It looks like it's drawn crookedly..."

Ji Yuan looked at himself in the mirror, then looked up at Su Qinghe with indulgent eyes.

"I like any eyebrows drawn by my wife."

Seeing him like this, Su Qinghe's heart stirred, and she couldn't help but lower her head and kiss the corner of his eye.

Ji Yuan smiled at first, but then looked at himself in the mirror and felt somewhat worried.

He raised his hand and touched the corner of his eye, where a faint line had already appeared.

"My lady, am I getting old?"

Ji Yuan asked in a low voice, without looking up at Su Qinghe.

Su Qinghe smiled and nodded. "I have aged a bit."

Hearing Su Qinghe actually say that, Ji Yuan looked up at her in a daze.

"Does my wife really think so? Am I no longer pretty? Do you find me unattractive?"

Seeing that Ji Yuan was a little anxious, Su Qinghe smiled, hugged him from behind, and kissed him.

"So what if you're old? Everyone gets old, right? Wouldn't that make you a thousand-year-old monster?"

"Not only will you grow old, but Xiao Xi and the others will grow old too, including your wife, me. We'll all grow old someday, but we'll be there for you. What are you afraid of?"

Ji Yuan looked up, staring blankly at Su Qinghe.

"What kind of wife comforts people like that!"

He protested verbally, but a smile appeared on his face, clearly indicating that he had been comforted.

Su Qinghe followed this gesture and pinched Ji Yuan's nose.

"You're not satisfied, yet you're smiling so happily?"

Ji Yuan shook his head, leaned against Su Qinghe's chest, and felt her warmth.

"Thank you, my wife. With you by my side, I'm not afraid of anything."

Su Qinghe gently patted his back.

"We're family, no need to thank me. No matter what happens in the future, you can always rely on me, okay?"

Ji Yuan nodded, feeling an indescribable happiness and gratitude in his heart.

Then, he heard Su Qinghe speak.

"Crow's feet are something only smiling people have; it's a symbol of good fortune, and some people want it but don't have it! Look at me!"

Ji Yuan looked in the direction of the sound and saw Su Qinghe making an exaggerated smile, with a line appearing at the corner of her eye.

Ji Yuan blushed and quickly reached out to cover Su Qinghe's face.

"Take it back quickly! It doesn't look good anymore."

Upon hearing this, Su Qinghe obediently resumed her normal expression, looking at the panicked Ji Yuan with a smug smile.

"Don't say things like 'getting old' again."

Ji Yuan glared at her helplessly, but he really didn't dare to do it again.

Just then, Su Jin's voice came from outside the door: "Mother, Father, dinner's ready!"

Su Qinghe smiled, took Ji Yuan's hand, and stood up.

"Coming right away."
