Chapter 76 Applying Powder

Lin Xi gently stroked his abdomen. Although he was still unsure, he could almost feel a new life growing inside.

Ji Qingyu looked at him with anticipation in his eyes, "I want to touch it again!" He grabbed Lin Xi's sleeve and acted coquettishly.

Lin Xi smiled and nodded, her eyes sparkling with happiness.

At this moment, Su Qinghe walked in from outside.

"Now that you may be pregnant, you need to take better care of your health. I've asked the kitchen to make you some chicken soup to nourish you."

Seeing his wife walking towards him, Lin Xi happily got up to greet her.

"It's not that serious, I usually eat pretty well!"

He slowly walked up to her and stood in front of her, looking up at her with emotion, his heart filled with excitement.

"Listen to me." Su Qinghe said firmly, pulling the person into her arms and kissing their forehead.

Lin Xi blushed and nodded, knowing that Su Qinghe was always very thoughtful.

Just as the two were lost in their tender moment, oblivious to everyone else, Ji Qingyu ran over, holding a piece of red paper in her hand.

Su Qinghe looked closely and saw four elegant characters written on it: "May you have a noble daughter soon."

"This is my New Year's blessing for Brother Xiaoxi. I hope Brother Xiaoxi will have a lovely baby!" Ji Qingyu said with a smile.

Lin Xi broke free from Su Qinghe's embrace and blushed as she looked at the four large characters in his hand.

Su Qinghe raised an eyebrow. This seemed to match the couplet she had written for Lin Xi.

First line: Warm breeze blows, orchids bloom on the steps.

The second line reads: "Splendid splendor heralds auspicious omens."

Horizontal scroll: Green bamboo sprouts tender bamboo shoots

Su Qinghe clicked her tongue, thinking that saying "early birth of a noble daughter" would also be nice, although it was a bit too direct.

While the three of them were chatting happily, Ji Yuan, who had already returned to his room, suddenly had a flash of inspiration.

Is that what you mean?

He held the teacup in a daze, and finally turned to the desk and wrote four large, elegant characters: "May all your wishes come true."

Having roughly guessed Su Qinghe's thoughts, Ji Yuan asked Mu Dong to find a piece of red paper and rewrite those four characters.

"Find someone to stick it on Yu-ge'er's doorframe," he instructed with a smile.

"yes!"

Mu Dong respectfully responded, picked up the horizontal scroll written by Ji Yuan, and went out the door.

"My wife wrote it like this, so Yu-ge'er definitely won't understand what she means, but I do know. Could it be that she wants me to remind Yu-ge'er..."

Ji Yuan sat back down on the stool, picked up his teacup, and stared blankly.

...

As night fell, every household hung up red lanterns, and Su Qinghe was no exception.

The snow-covered landscape was illuminated by rows of closely spaced lights, casting patches of crimson light and shadow. At this moment, New Year's Eve had quietly begun, and colorful fireworks gradually bloomed on the horizon.

"Remember to bring your hand warmers! The lantern festival will continue very late, so don't catch a cold."

At the entrance, Su Qinghe stood tall and straight in front of the carriage, patiently giving instructions to the three men who were about to leave.

After confirming that all the necessary items had been brought, the carriage slowly started moving and smoothly headed towards the bustling market.

Accompanied by a series of muffled sounds, colorful fireworks streaked across the sky like shooting stars, adorning the entire sky with dazzling brilliance.

The once dimly lit streets were now brightened, and bustling crowds filled the streets and alleys. Among them were many people playing with fireworks.

She instructed the coachman to stop the carriage at the intersection, and Su Qinghe helped the group out of the carriage.

Because of the crowd, and fearing that Lin Xi and Ji Yuan might be accidentally bumped into, Su Qinghe carefully protected them the whole way, trying to walk in less crowded areas.

Even so, they still had a great time, but Lin Xi and Ji Yuan soon showed signs of fatigue, and the group quickly headed back home.

...

Qin Mansion.

"Sparrow, what do you think of me wearing this?"

Qin Ange held up a peach-pink dress, enthusiastically holding it up against herself, and looked expectantly at Que'er behind her.

Looking at her young master's already slightly dark face, now paired with this incredibly pink dress, she could see the darker complexion.

Que'er's lips twitched; it was truly unimaginable.

"...Young master, pink really doesn't suit you. How about you change into a navy blue one instead?"

He gave an awkward yet polite smile.

"That color might better suit your temperament."

Que'er pulled out a piece of clothing from a pile and handed it to Qin Ange.

Qin Ange's face fell.

"But I want to try other colors I've never worn before. I usually wear colors that women and older people wear, which aren't very masculine!"

Suddenly, his eyes lit up, and he stared intently at the sparrow.

"Let me use some of the rouge and powder in your room, and I'll buy you new ones later."

Qin Ange grinned.

Just apply some powder and you'll look whiter!

Que'er looked distressed, wanting to tell him that it was no use, but due to Qin Ange's urging, she turned around and went into the house.

When they came out again, they couldn't see their young master. After a moment, they heard the rustling sound of someone changing clothes in the inner room.

When I saw him again, he was dressed in a peach-pink outfit.

Sparrow's pupils contracted, and she quickly looked away, not wanting to hurt her eyes any further.

Imagination is always better than reality!

With a sigh in her heart, Que'er turned around.

"These are all I have."

Despite feeling it was pointless, he still placed his few cosmetics on Qin Ange's dressing table.

He didn't use it often, so there were very few types.

Looking at the only three open boxes on the table, Qin Ange immediately took a liking to the whitest one.

"This is it."

He eagerly applied some powder and started dusting it on the bronze mirror. But since it was his first time using it, he had absolutely no method whatsoever.

Feeling that the powder on the puff was almost used up, I stuck some more on and imprinted it on my face.

As a result, his face was covered in patches of white and black, but this was not visible in the bronze mirror, and he himself was completely unaware of it.

"Sparrow, how am I? Have I gotten fairer?"

After applying the compress to his entire face, Qin Ange felt it was enough and eagerly turned to ask Que'er, who was tidying up the pile of clothes he had found.

Upon hearing this, Que'er turned around.

"ah--"

He cried out in surprise, then quickly covered his mouth, his eyes wide open.

"Young master, you..."

"What's wrong? What happened?"

He was only halfway through his sentence when Qin Anmin walked in from the courtyard gate.

"An Ge, you... are you?"

As soon as Qin Anmin entered the room, he was about to speak when he was confronted by a large, black-and-white face.

"!"

Her pupils contracted sharply, and as she stepped back, she slapped the large head.
