After the two finished washing and dressing, they headed to the hall together. They had only gone halfway when they spotted Ji Yuan walking ahead of them in the distance.
Su Qinghe called out to them, and the three of them walked into the hall together.
Since Su Qinghe hadn't eaten breakfast, she instructed that lunch be eaten earlier today, so some servants were already standing in the hall, and Zhang Fu was waiting at the door.
After giving the order to serve the food, the group sat at the table for a while.
"Has Yu-ge'er not gotten up yet? It'll be noon in half an hour." Ji Yuan muttered to himself as he looked at the sun.
Time ticked by, but Ji Qingyu still hadn't appeared. Ji Yuan was growing increasingly anxious.
Did I oversleep?
Just then, Zhang Fu leaned forward and whispered:
"Young Master Ji came early this morning, but he seems to have forgotten that he doesn't need to get up early for breakfast today, so he went back to catch up on his sleep."
Upon hearing this, Su Qinghe jumped up from her seat. Her eyes widened, her face filled with regret—she had completely forgotten something so important!
"You guys eat first, I'll go call him!"
Without time to explain further, Su Qinghe hurriedly left after uttering a single sentence, leaving Lin Xi and Ji Yuan staring at each other, their faces full of confusion.
"Ji Qingyu!"
Su Qinghe called softly, her fingers gently tapping on the door, making a crisp sound.
However, the room was silent, and no one responded. She simply pushed open the door and stepped inside.
"Ji Qingyu?"
Upon entering the room, Su Qinghe looked around but did not find Ji Qingyu.
She called his name as she walked toward the inner room.
Finally, she came to the bedside.
"Ji Qingyu, are you awake?"
Standing in front of the bed, Su Qinghe looked at the thin gauze curtain and asked again.
Still receiving no response, she reached out and abruptly pulled back the gauze curtain.
"Ji Qingyu!"
When Su Qinghe saw the scene on the bed, she frowned.
Ji Qingyu was curled up in a ball, her face as pale as paper.
She hurriedly reached out to touch his forehead, only to find it burning hot, frighteningly so.
Startled, Su Qinghe didn't hesitate to throw off the quilt, quickly take off her outer robe, carefully pull Ji Qingyu into her arms, and then pull the quilt back up to wrap them both tightly.
Ji Qingyu seemed to have lost consciousness, her body still trembling slightly.
Su Qinghe touched his hands and feet; they were chillingly cold!
She enveloped him completely, circulating her internal energy to spread heat throughout his body.
Slowly, the person in her arms stopped trembling, but remained motionless, as if frozen stiff.
As her inner strength continued to surge, Su Qinghe hugged the person even tighter.
